The Joe Con schedule is up on their website for anybody going that wants to plan their trip a little bit more.

Looks like they are pretty confident the parachute drop figures are going to come in on time!

I have a feeling that the 11:00 Hasbro panel on Saturday will be wild.

I agree, it's interesting that they put it as a 2013 insider's guide. Makes me think we really are done with new product for the rest of the year.

It's good to see the parachute drop made it onto the schedule.
I'm glad they got the figures in time.

That has yet to be confirmed. They could just drop figureless retaliation trooper parachutes in plastic 2 litre bottles :0

Or it could just be scheduled to block out the time in hopes they get them in.

That's very true, hopefully they will let people know ahead of time though. I'm pretty excited for the drop, it would be a real disapointment if it fell through.

On such short notice the figure is going to be a useless figure most likley (lol be funny if its left over prison suit flints). They didnt have plans in place for the drop due to the movie so I wonder what figure they pulled outta the hasbro parts bin so quickly...

It really doesn't matter what they drop honestly, I just really enjoy going to the parachute drops and watching all of the figures come down. I would be happy even if it's just a retaliation cobra trooper repainted.

We knew they were going to be done with new product for this year already. Despite the amazing amount of wishful thinking that has been tossed around, there simply was not enough time to really develop any new product to put out in the interim.
What "2013 Insider's Guide" tells me is that we'll probably see stuff we haven't already seen, which is a plus. Hasbro could've just showed up with the same Retaliation stuff we've already seen and said, "That's what you're getting up through the first quarter of 2013! Check us out at Toy Fair 2013 to see what's next!"
I would HOPE (even if I know it's in vain) that folks would bear in mind that the delay of the movie and the movie product is NOT the Joe development team's fault. They likely didn't have one iota of say in it, trust me.

What "2013 Insider's Guide" tells me is that we'll actually see stuff we haven't already seen, which is a plus. Hasbro could've just showed up with the same Retaliation stuff we've already seen and said, "That's what you're getting up through the first quarter of 2013! I didn't have much wishful thinking in terms of big box retail for more joe product as you're correct, there wouldn't have been enough time to get more product out. I still had hope that we might see online/store exclusives or possibly more of the "basic assortment" figures showing up though.
And there's nothing suggesting that they won't just show up, show us the things that we've already seen, and tell us to check out Toy Fair 2013. At this point there's really no way for any of us to know.

More basic assortment figures is still possible. Exclusives...less so, unless they were already in the pipeline. But Retailers have been much less keen on Joe exclusives since RoC.

That could be true, but I highly doubt it. If that were Hasbro's intent, I'm pretty sure they'd simply not hold a panel at all and spare themselves the heartburn of even-more-irate fans.

I am happy that there will be a parachute drop. It is always fun.
The GIJCC Roundtable has always been 50 minutes. Typically it is a PPT presentation followed by a brief Q&A session. I also expect Brian will do what he did for the TFCC and probably apologize about the online security breach and move on. The Hasbro sessions in the past have been very similar.
The Hasbro GI Joe Team and the Club staff are available on the sales floor all weekend so if they don't get to answer your question during the panels, see one of them for a 1:1. I have always found the 1:1 sessions to result in better answers.
I don't see the Hasbro presentation being "wild" either unless it is "wild" with anticipation. I am looking forward to the 2013 session A LOT. I don't know what they will talk about Retaliation, but I am very intrigued. I really do not think people will be getting out of hand.

SDCC 2013??? Joe Con will most likely be in March 2013 when the movie hits. Hopefully they will give us info by then and not wait another 3.5 months until SDCC for the reveals. Toy Fair will be in February 2013 as well.

They should have had it planned regardless of the movie. It is a Joe Con tradition.

Bot Con was lackluster from what I hear this year too. At least we might have another Joe Con in 9 months when the Movie comes out.

Put simply, because no one cares what the fans think. This has been proven repeatedly.

Why would paramount show a movie that they're not happy with and are currently changing? What would fan input do anyways? It's not like we all have 1 collective vision on what a GI Joe movie should be. Besides, they're making this film for everyone. Not hardcore fanboys. Do you think the mass audience gives a shit about a white Ripcord's relationship with a chick in a bear suit and her father?

Is it just me or are the scalpers all hyping up the prices on this years set and other goodies even more so than usual.
Ive been asked to pay 3x what i paid last last for the Bazil II set and everything and the AT sub; i don't even know what the vehicles etc are this year yet.
Total cost will be $1000.
Ok some guys like me can't go and depend on these guys, BUT they are totally exploiting the truefan/ collector.
We all know the after market will push prices even high, so what are we talking $2000 a set.
RIDICULOUS!!!!!
Even the best set ever from 2002 The Crimson Strike Team set cost me a fraction of this years and it was signed by Larry "the god" Hama.
At todays prices i should fly to the US next year buy a set and fly home and still have money left over from buying a set from these guys.
