Wait, he's not going to JoeCon because he's scheduled to be at the Derby City Comic Con? Then again, maybe it only conflicted because the JoeCon got moved.

Ah, yeeaah. I'll be there. Last year was my first time there. It was decent. I wish there were more vendors for comic related stuff. About 60% was artist booths. I got a few prints. My wife and I are hoping someone is there that was there last year. I don't recall the name. Only his work. It would be good for doing a superheroes baby room.
I just need to go through my comics to see if I've got anything for him to sign. Otherwise, it's a quick trip to either The Zone or Great Escape. Any suggestions other than comics for things he can sign?

I think I'm going to select a few of my 25th anniversary Carded Figures and get those signed. I think that would make a great display.

From What I've Been Told by Dan (Zone Comics Owner), yes he will. I think the Derby City Comic Con is from 10:00am to 5:00pm. You may want to give the guys at Zone a call to see if Mr. Hama will be there the entire show.

I'd be so jealous if that happened. Tried valiantly to find even a loose figure before the signing in my parts.

Wow Lody just keep on crying like an insufferable child in an airplane. Be happy for all who live in Louisville and finally get to meet their childhood/adulthood idol. How many times has Hama been to Joecon and are you even going this year? Derby City Comic Con is on its second year and is really starting to pull some good talent (not that Tony Moore last year was in anyway bad). Louisville has not had a convention worth while in nearly 15 years and it is nice to see some good events finally popping up. The # for Zone comic shop is (502) 893-8654. I am out of town for the con; but will certainly be @ the Zone next Friday!

1. No, went to the Atlanta convention (no Hamma then either)and it was pretty disappointing with the exception of Marauder john, spent a few hours talking with him and he was quite pleasant. It would have to be pretty close for me to consider it again.
2. At least Louisville is not as terrible as the entire State of Texas. Been numerous times, even have a childhood friend who lives there and I would love to never visit that State again if it were an option.
3. I do not live on message boards
4. No need for pills I'm all natural. If your statements were jokes somebody is supposed to laugh, right?
Not new at all, just dislike haters who can't appreciate a good thing for others.

I agree Robinson, this is a great event for all the Joe fans in the KY, IN, OH, PA, TN, NC, WV, and IL region. Louisville is easily within a 1-4 hour drive from most of these areas and is easily accessible. Attending "The Zone" event Friday or The Derby City Comic Con on Saturday (or even both), is so much easier on the wallet than traveling to New Orleans (not to mention missing work). Most of you going to "Joecon" probably have been before and have had your opportunity to meet Mr. Hama. I would love to attend Joecon, but this year it's just not in the cards. I'm sure every Joe fan in this region who isn't going feels the same. This way, another segment of the Joe fan base gets to feel included & get excited about our hobby.
Thanks Zone Comics for bringing Mr. Hama to Louisville.
If you can't make it to Joecon, don't miss out next weekend here in the Derby City.

I know this is a couple of weeks late, but I was at DCCC. It was loads of fun. Mr. Hama signed my ARAH #2 issue. He was doing sketches, but was so back logged he was not taking names for more. I of course blabbed to him about how much of an influence he was on my childhood, but I didn't stay at his booth too long. He was just too busy with those sketches to talk.
I was also able to pick up several prints from the show as well. I just need to get them framed and hung.
Still should have been at Joe Con.
