With prep and planning, voice actor booking and all that....I don't suppose they have enough time to turn this flaming, crashing car heading off the cliff around, do they?
I wish we had some People on the Inside of Hasbro or The Hub to tell us how they REALLY feel about the delay of Retaliation. They must be pissed. I do not understand any of what has happened with this franchise in the last year and a half. The Hub creates Transformers and Joe with storylines that clearly have more than one season. Then the movie is planned? Then they decide to not have a Season 2 due to the movie??? but Hasbro is involved in the movie and the series. So why does it appear that no one knew anything about the other- And now, no Retaliation means they COULD have had a Season 2.
I don't see anyone ***king with Optimus Prime like this.

Renegades was all a dream. It didn't happen.

Well, they did the same thing with Transformers Animated. Granted it had a few seasons but it was dropped in favor of a more movie friendly cartoon.

Bottom line a season 2 needs to happen. I just got finished watching it on Netflix. (they left out the dream crap)
This seems to be par for the course with Hasbro: they know the fans want something and they do what they want instead... or was that Nintendo?

It definitely happened with Resolute...we wanted more and what did we get? ROC...
People want more Renegades...what do they get....a cancelled cartoon and yet another movie Retaliation...but oh wait this time the movie is totally delayed...
Next up the Joe toy line will be delayed and then cancelled to the concept vault of cancelled items. Then the designers will keep making product to show at Joecon and SDCC and never actually release sell another Joe item again!

Renegades was all a dream.
One that Sunbow Duke woke up from at the end of the first season.

Renagades season 2 could have been great...it could have gone in so many directions.
You could have continued to have the small team supported by the bigger team (now with the full support of Flint's team)
The Coyote could have been revamped with new an improved tech.
So many possibilities!

I imagine the longer the show lasted the more it would resemble Sunbow until the two were virtually indistinguishable. Sometime after that it would have likely become Resolute. You know, if it hadn't gotten cancelled.

Chances are Paramount might have pushed a little, not wanting a Joe version to compete with theirs.
Or it came down to money and Hasbro ending up only being able to support one media version of Joe.
Or the ratings were so bad it got the show canceled.
These things do not exist in a microverse, there are larger issues at stake most of the time, and some issues that Hasbro can't directly control.

I think that they pulled the plug on Renegades because they wanted the next Joe cartoon to more closely resemble Retaliation. By they, I mean Hasbro and Paramount.

I think we would have at least gotten a second season if Renegades over all story was more traditional Joe vs. Cobra. I think that probably several things came to a head that made it easy to cancel such a unique reimagining.

I totally agree.
Renegades follows with other otherwise promising television series such as Star Trek: Enterprise which was a holodeck imagining by Commander Riker and Counselor Troi.
They give these series a Micky Mouse ending which completely nullifies its significance.
After all, in the last episode of Renegades, the original voice actor "Michael Bell" recounts his terrible dream where everyone was drawn horribly.
Incidentally, Michael Bell is a far better voice actor than whoever voiced the Japanimation version of Duke who I cannot remember his name.
What is Hasblo thinking anyway? If it isn't broken don't fix it.
Can you imagine if they could get Michael Bell and Bill Ratner back to voice the series? Get the new and improved story archs to satisfy the "Call for Duty" generation but retain the best voice actors and actually draw the characters with the due justice they deserve.
We would have a hit!
