Tripwire is the exact same figure we just got in the wave 5 Comic Pack. Same color, same accessories, everything. The only differences here are that he's single carded and comes with the Meteor Ore catalytic element for the MASS Device. Also of note is that the Mine Sweeper seems to be made of a more flexible plastic than the comic pack version.

I've included a comparasion picture of the single and comic pack figures. Other than the paint being less glossy and slightly darker, there's no difference here.

Here's the original review for Tripwire:

I don't get why they couldn't do SOMETHING a little more different.

CC at least had a STRIPE on his helmet when he was slapped back in again with the package! Haha. I really wish that CC had been another Trooper, but sadly the canister CC is my default right now, until my DVD pack one arrives with Alpine. I alternate between the striped helmet and the Comic Pack CC's hood (with the Cobra emblem on it).

The Cobra Diver is at least a new character from the mini-series. Hell, I actually think it would have made more sense this time to pack Duke with the freaking canister, if you ask me.

I know we're sick of Duke—and the last thing I want is another Duke—but I think it's odd that Tripwire was chosen, and I'm not really too excited about him being on a single-card as I don't find him THAT crucial of a character.

This would have been a great opportunity to release Breaker in his toon deco or maybe even Steeler, with the RIGHT helmet, if you ask me. I would much rather have Breaker bearded with his gray uniform (made from all-existing parts, no reason to resculpt anything!) or Steeler single-carded, since we've gotten both either in multi-packs or with vehicles, and half-assed each time. I thought Tripwire was solid the first time, and isn't deserving of a single card.

Anyways, sorry to bitch, this decision just seems weird to me.

Yeah, at the very least they could have done a LNF deco or something with him. If they really wanted to be strange they could have done the funskool colors on him :D

I would have liked this tripwire to be TF. I wish I wouldn't have bought the comic pack now.

I am happy that the pads are lighter on this release making him slightly different, but I still think this is Modern Era Joe's worst/laziest rerelease of a character because it is so minor a change that you shouldn't have to bother but have to if you want the element.
Cartoon colors, Tiger Force, Listen N Fun, all would have made better color choices than this slight tweek.
Here is my comparison shot:

I like this version simply because I skipped the wave 5 CP version.

I like the version because I only collect the single carded figures so this was a great addition. If you are somebody who collects them loose then you would be upset at the same repack.

so has anyone seen the AFA Tripwires on HTS? They are listing it as a variant with "#1 on case" or #2 on case"...what a joke. I have the ultimate variant. #2 on his backpack, #1 on one mine, #4 on the other 2 mines, and #2 on the mine detector :P

all of my canisters except for the red one look to have a "n" or a "z" on the bottom...

I was going to wait out for this one until my gf got me the comic-pack for Christmas. I MAY still get him for the element, but oh man, I'd feel like such a chump.

I wish they'd give him his own mold, to be quite honest. The original version was quite a bit different from Flash...

I wish they would have made the single carded Tripwire with Hiss Driver torso instead of Flash. Oh well...missed opportunity.

I would rather they packaged the element with another Cobra trooper. I have no need for an army building Tripwire.

I was sort of hoping for hot pink and neon green. If memory serves, Hasbro started throwing out Joe figures in those colors at about the same time in my life that I stopped playing with little plastic men and started playing with bewbs. Life has never been the same since.

If they packaged the element with another character, then you wouldn't buy Tripwire single carded, because, like me, you picked him up on the comic pack with another retarded CC. If I would have known, I wouldn't have picked up that comic pack and waited for the single Tripwire. One I don't mind, but two of the exact same character I don't need. They should have at least Night Force'd or Tiger Force'd him.
