View Full Version : Non G.I. Joe Valiant Comics - Rai and the Future Force WIPS

I just started tinkering around and before you'd know it, I drilled a hole in Bail Organa's head and strung some fake hair through! I realized this looked like the old Valiant comics character Rai (technically Rai II, Takao Konishi) and put him on a ROC SS body.

His costume looks nothing like it does in the comics yet, but I just took a few preliminary pics with some Lego "Hero Factory" figures that I sprayed in silver and then gave a purple wash. They now look PERFECT for the invading alien robots called The Malevs (short for Malevolents). Here's a few pics from the Rai Colver Gallery (if you never heard of this series (which is probably most of you)). It's a fun read and action packed!

I haven't really begun on this yet, but thanks for the compliment! I just drilled the head and strung some hair through it. I'm thinking of using a POC quick kick body with different lower legs!

Resolute Snake Eyes lower legs might be a good choice.

Ok, just picked up a POC Quick Kick at a local comic shop. The skin tone doesn't match as much as I'd like, but it's not so bad that it's distracting.

The lower legs still need some thought, but it should be pretty simple to match. Crowncoke suggested the Res Snake-Eyes and the colors are good, but I want to keep it very simple and comic accurate. It's just regular grey boots, so it'll work itself out.

Next up: SPYLOCKE!!.
