View Full Version : Cobra has ended the world, who is left.

All this Retaliation mass character assassination talk has me thinking. Let’s say Cobra finally did it. One of their crazy schemes finally succeeded and by arbitrarily putting the world at risk caused a global catastrophe. Essentially Cobra has ended life on the planet as we know it. (I always think of that classic twilight zone where the only guy left on earth breaks his glasses.) You can choose whatever post-apocalyptic scenario you want for your Joe-verse but the question is this: Through all the death and destruction which Joe and Cobra are the last remaining souls left. Through all the war, and tragedy who has managed to last to the very end. Choose one from each side, and a brief why…

Mine are: Croc-master has managed to stay far enough under the radar, and adapted to serious cultural and climate changes on earth to stay hidden deep within the swamps. He doesn’t like people anyway, and now his only worry is finding a meal in a post apocalyptic world.

Through all the survival experts on the Joe team only one has managed to be able to recognize the threat of global holocaust and the brains to adapt to survive. Airtight is low enough on the chain of command not to be assassinated, enough of a coward to know when to get out of a fight, and smart enough to adapt to a overly hostile environment. His biohazard equipment allow him to survive but with no one else left he leads a life of regret and solitude…until he wanders into the swamps and croc master takes him out!

Survivors would be some Joes, some Cobra agents, and isolated pockets of civilization, globally. There would also be countless millions of zombies intermixed with a few Zombie Vipers.

Basically it appears that Cobra's search for a super soldier mutated out of control

Outback has survived, because that's Outback being Outback. Probably a platoon of Range-Vipers as well. I'd like to see that fight in the woods.

Well if they have ended the world, no one...

The Joe Star Brigade and the Cobra Space division have survived. Well, at least the members who were stationed in space or on the Moon.

There was a movie called DefCon 4 that was based on that premis. The movie sucked harder than a wet-vac, but the poster was bad ass!

You realize several of Cobra's schemes have succeeded in some manner or another, right? In Resolute CC kills millions in Moscow. In the comics, he also starts what could be described as WWIII.

How dare you bring logic into this conversation. When the OP clearly stated the last man on earth would be Croc Master...

All no-name nobodys, it was from the late 70's - early 80's. I see it on late at night sometimes. Let me check IMDb, see what they say about it.

Ok, it came out in '85 and is actually spelled Def-Con 4. I wouldn't wast my time watching it, just look at the poster and imagine something....anything.....and it will be better than the movie. The scene on the poster never even comes close to the actual movie.

Yeah the movie poster looked really cool...and the nuclear war could be done better...they need to reboot it...let Steven Sommers and Michael Bay along with Jerry Bruckhiemr should be able to make it loud, suck and explode all at once..good middle 80s flick to reboot

I agree, that would be awesome. Who knows, they are digging deeper and deeper nowadays, we may see it eventually.

I am a child of the 80's, and Def-Con 4 was one of those epic bad movies that we rented over and over again.

Oh, and thanks! Galaxina FTW!

Snake-Eyes and Storm Shadow, but their brains have been transplanted into Duke and Cobra Commander's bodies.

Hasbro won't have it any other way.

Ever seen the movie Sunshine? They had a massive greenhouse and were self sufficient, no other supplies were necessary. I imagine GI Joe and Cobra both would have something similar going on, and probably on a larger scale, they'll be just fine. As long as there were at least a handful of females in the bases and the Joes and Cobras could work together in face of extinction they would even be able to start repopulating the planet. Everything works out, happy ending yay.

Meanwhile back on Earth Dr Mindbender awoke from cryogenic sleep. Foreseeing that Cobra Commander had finally gone too far the good doctor quietly made his way to an abandoned Cobra facility in South America where the earliest stages of the Serpentor project were conceived. A few calibrations to a clone gestation pod later and Mindbender was ready for his slumber. The pod was set for twelve years of stasis, a sufficient amount of time for the madness outside to pass, or so he thought. Dr Mindbender stepped out of the pod, groggy and nearly blind from the extended cryo sleep. He stretched, engaging muscles that had gone unused for more than a decade. This feels worse than I imagined he thought, a moment before he collapsed to the ground. He'd felt this before, the unmistakable blow from a gun butt to the back of the skull. The pain barely registered, Mindbender had been hurt before, plenty he'd get over it, more worrisome though was someone knew he was here.

Sunshine anything like Silent Running? I remember that show form the early 70s..they had those giant agro/greenhouse ships you see in the original Battle Star Galactica in it lol...

Anyways...this is GI JOE were talking aboot!...how many times have either the Joes or Cobras ever been that prepared :0 the best they would end up with is a bunch of fatal fluffies and Zarana screeching Cold Sliter till they all commited suicide...then Zarana would have no choice but to mate with the fatal fluffies and thier progeny returns to earth and Dr. Mindbender gets eatin!...not all stories end well ;)

Deep six and a whole lot of B.A.T.S. Deep six is under the ocean when it all goes down which leaves him unharmed until he resurfaces. The B.A.T.S. are present, of course, because without humanity, the machines will rise...
