Why not just keep going with POC? Per your HISS suggestions I'd prefer the retaliation HISS repainted V1. Same goes for Beachhead -retaliation repaint of V1.
They already have all the sculpting/molds they could need, they really aught to just hold polls on HISSTank about which figures and vehicles to release (similar to how HOH was done), as well as what parts and paint schemes to go with. Minor sculpting shouldn't be an issue, and likely won't be needed that often.
Their marketing department should be fired, just borrow free labor from the Tank!
As well I'd like to see a repaint of the Grizzly Patriot as a MOBAT, Night Attack Chopper (with non-crooked rotors) as a Dragonfly (with teeth decals), and a repaint of the Night Attack Humvee as Vamp mark I.

I think getting a POC'd take on the original Duke, Scarlett, Rock n Roll, Breaker, Grunt, Steeler, Flash, and Grand Slam, with new Cobra Troopers and Officers, and some really ultimate CC would be a good place to start for figures.

:)

I think rereleasing some old molds would be more than fine, but GI joe has to also move on somewhat from the military of the 1980s...

I think we're more likely to get a non-ARAH "reboot" of G.I. Joe than we are to get a toy line as expansive as the one described here, unless the movie and movie toys are a huge hit.

hopefully not. ARAH is terribly dated, obsolete, and needs to be laid to rest. My hopes lie towards a complete reboot, with a more streamlined focus, with all new characters and vehicles. The 80s are gone. Let it go man.

EDIT: Also, GIJoe is character driven now and not all about a bunch of vehicles. Your list is very vehicle heavy and alot of that stuff will most likely sit on the shelf, humbly waiting for clearance.

A complete reboot is actually what I had in mind. The 80s are indeed gone, which is why some core vehicles need updating. When I'm talking about rebooting ARAH, it's not like I want to pic up where Sunbow and DIC left off. You don't even have to call it ARAH...

Well, being character driven hasn't stopped figures from peg-warming either, and I'm not seeing a whole lot of things i think would pegwarm (besides some of the alpha vehicles).

I think the biggest thing you'd be fighting going back to a 80's ARAH style figure/articulation is the what everyone else is doing in the market now. Unfortunately between the better sculpts and more lifelike everything has become, not to mention w/ the more natural articulation for better posing of the figures that they have become now, an older ARAH articulation figure would be more of a collector thing and very limited in sales. I think it would have a hard time going up against all the the other mass produced stuff out there, and be more of a comic shop/exclusive kind of thing. :(

Funny, the figures have gotten better, and getting a simpler one is now more expensive and more exclusive. :)

About the only way around this as I see the future of the market cheaper wise, is what we have seen in the Dollar General figures - same basic sculpts to a limited degree, w/ less detail on the paint apps and fewer accessories.

I am talking about a total reboot. All new characters, all new vehicles, all new conflicts. Cobra revamped to be more modern and both organizations streamlined to remove the bloat.

A $10 figure pegwarming takes up much less space and money than a $30 vehicle.

I feel going back to old sculpts is taking multiple steps back for no reason.

A reboot is fine but use the POC style. We can save money by doing less accessories. Say 1 rifle 1 pistol and a back pack. I don't know how people feel about knifes. I don't use them. For me they stay holstered.

If you wanted to take it a step forward I wouldn't even mind generic packaging if the price drops enough.

There doesn't need to be 10 versions of SE, Duke, and others.

There are so many ways to save money. As for the vehicles I say cut out some of the Alpha and Bravo vehicles. Delta and Echo should come with 2 figures.

I'll take a reboot with PoC styling.

Give me 8-10 main characters for each side with a GI Joe trooper Army builder and a couple of Cobra Army builders to start (Blue Shirts / Vipers / or Shock Troopers). Make all the figs look like something that would be in a MW3 or other modern military shooter that way a kid walking down the toy isle may want to actually purchase something that looks like a game that is popular, while giving us old guys a more realistic line of figures to collect.

True, but an individual echo vehicle would not have the logistical difficulties figures have of putting too many of an unpopular character in a box. A retailer can order echo vehicles seperately.

I put this at 2015 since by then it would have been seven years since the release of the last green AWE Striker. As far as I know, they still have the tooling and the last few iterations of this vehicle have been mediocre.

Oh, and I could personally use some AWE Strikers that aren't some funky colour.

P.S. Hasbro- See Cearaus's OG13 POC updates for inspiration and how to do this right..and copy them to the T (and of course give him royalties for doing the design work for you) ...I will buy them forthwith..

^^THIS^^

The Resolute and Renegades versions of Scarlett seemed too much tied to being an homage to her classic leotard and cowgirl boots/gloves look instead of giving her a modern "agent" look like Jennifer Garner in "the Kingdom" or even the Retaliation Lady Jaye look (refer to poster of Adrienne Palicki, desert fatigues, dark glasses). The 30th Ace, I think, was a great example of what to do. POC Snow Job was one of my favorites -- stay in that direction and I think kids and collectors would respond well.

If it's a complete update, you could just take off from where ARAH would conceivably have left off, and develop/elaborate from there. I think the following would be kind of neat:

Cobra Command:
Cobra Commander (Snake-Eyes, turned traitor)
Destro (Daughter of Destro & Baroness)
Zarana (Steals her brothers shape-shifting technology)
Overkill (Mechanical Genius and totally homicidal.)
Firefly (Son of Flint & Lady-Jaye)

Cobra Legions:
Officer
Viper
Imperial Guard
Technician/Medical Staff
Iron Grenadier/BAT
Zombie

Vehicles:
Night Raven
TrubbleBubbles
HISS Tanks
Stinger (APC)
SNAKE Mech (Completely new tooling)
Mantis (Larger sized vehicle)

Joes:
General Duke
Flagg Jr. (Son of the Original General Flagg)
Falcon (Son of General Hawk, adopted brother of Duke)
Doc (Female neice of Original Doc)
Mercer
Billy (Original Cobra Commander's son, Apprentice of Storm Shadow)
Jinx (Cousin of Storm Shadow, Apprentice of Storm Shadow)
Tunnel Rat
Kamakura (Apprentice of Snake-Eyes)
Crush (Daughter of Shipwreck & Cover Girl, can pilot any vehicle)
Dialtone (Female, Resolute)
Kwinn (Son of Original Kwinn)
Heavy-Duty

Joe Troopers:
Steel Brigade (Security & Special Operations)
PAC/RATs (Bot unit, capable of control via Tan shirts, or Breaker, acts as direct Team Support on missions)
Green Shirt Trooper (Infantry, Armor, Air-Force)
Tan Shirt Trooper (Support -Engineers, technicians, medics)

Dragonhawk (Large Ghosthawk Dropship)
Skystriker (Raptor)
Grizzly Patriot APC Tank
Vamp
