Well, I think IDW is good, but very slow........I need to read 3 issues of IDW with 3 history lines (Gijoe, Snake Eyes and Cobra) to get the emotion I got in 1 issue from Devil's Due....Why 3 pages of Tomax having dinner? not going to thep oint of why going to Billy- former CC's son.....Nothing of Firefly still after almost 3 years, Bazooka that was very cool was killed just in its second appereance....IDW is good, but veeeeeeeeryyyyyyyyyy slooooooooooowwwwww

First page with their homage to Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Johnny Depp officially makes it into G.I. Joe.

I agree with this.

The plot seems ok (new characters, CC's baby, new hedquarters etc). The characters look ok: a Tomax turned into a retired agent (great idea), chameleon is now a asian chick (cool) etc etc.

But seriously, 3 pages with someones eating is way too much. Not to mention the artwork itself is not that interesting for it, or at least doesn't works for this kind of narrative. Same with Flint's pages. And the dialog isn't complicated either.

Then you get 4 pages of action, in which you can barely understand what's happening, or isn't "actiony" at all, just to rush things up.

Too slow, and too fast.

Just think on that great sequence with SS delivering Scarlett in front of CC, and SE jumping down the plane, on the first issues.
In just a couple pages you got a lot of things happening, and you clearly understand what's about, without a single word. And you get those damned secuential panels that artist like so much today but simply don't understand well when/how to use it.

I hate this book. The art sucks. If they made it better I would buy it.

I like the way the story has been developing, a much faster read is snake eyes, wich action is always at 100 mph.

I'm sticking with this change, is really interesting and it's different.

but what's with flint's hair?

This is not my favorite Joe art, but that said the story of finding a mysterious son of the commander sounds neat. I'm still on the fence about Ronin. I am looking forward to seeing how Flint's group dynamic will work.

And I do believe they spelled "warrent" officer incorrectly...(warrant)

This book has sooo much promise and is really starting to go down hill. Nevermind the art is crap, the story is getting lame as well.

BTW, I'm confused about chameleon. Did she get killed and this is a different one? Or is she supposed to be the same character?

Chameleon never died. She quit the Joe team and later re-joined with a new code name: "Ronin." That is Ronin on the cover.

Erika La Tene, a Cobra agent, joined the Joe team and became Chameleon II. When the original Chameleon rejoined, she became "Ronin."

In the first mini, Jinx, Chuckles handler, was murdered by Chuckles. Hawk sent a replacement - the original Chameleon (now Ronin). Jinx and Chameleon I (Ronin) looked similar.

i completely disagree with the statement about IDW vs. DDP... for 1. idw has waaaay better artists and in MOST cases the storyline is more realistic and interesting whereas ddp usually opts to go a more cartoony route with their art and story telling. granted this particular "COBRA" series is unusual in its art direction and story its still a really sweet story from issue 1-13. i know yer just sayin their slow but i cant help but argue that idw is way cooler than ddp. (i do have a lot of gi joe comics from ddp and i definitely still like them a lot.)
