What Cobra Commander is this?

Yeah just the black version of the movie toy. Couldn't tell you if it's any more or less rare the it's blue counterpart

I didn't know there would be a variant. The images on the package are the blue version. When I picked it up and saw it was black, I snatched it.

its the second best Retaliation Commander Hasbro produced...or, maybe the best one...

i picked both blue and black Retaliation Commanders with the intention of deciding which i liked better, the losing color to be returned.......couldnt make up my mind.
opened them both and displayed them both, same pose but mirrored off of each other.

bitter as $10 a figure is.....Retaliation Cobra Commanders are totally worth it!

i've found alot more tan gi joe troopers and black cc than the other ones and the black is -heard-the vart.was done in blue becuz he was gonna be blue so they did certain ones in black but still kept both..like i said i HEARD THAT may or may not be true

Haha, actually a loose black CC did go for over $300 on ebay, before everyone found out the black one came in the Amazon pack and then carded also. Sucks to be that person that paid that hellish price only to find out a matter of few days later they got hosed.

The blue one is the variant:

I saw 2 blue CCs in the wild & did not buy them because I wanted the black one.

Henceforth Blue CC will hit Ebay @ $100 a pop come November.

I have three tans one blue (only bought the blue because at the time I didnt even know there was a tan one!) As for CC the black one looks way better! The blue one looks cheap.

It's like a weird shade of blue. That's why I was happy to see a black one. Looks nicer. Still, I may get the blue one.

Anyone have any ideas on ankle articulation? I want to try to swap the legs.

I like the sculpt, but the blue one looked way to childish to display with my figures. I ended up giving it to my son. Ill probably pick up the black one next year, because of the sculpt. I wish they has used the same blue as the trooper or viper, then it would of been a win for me. I'm really not a fan of the whole cheap died plastic though. What can you do, you win some, you loose some.

Actually, the one with the detachable penis is the variant.

I just got the H.I.S.S. Tank with Cobra Commander and am pissed. He looks so awesome but the articulation is shit. What the hell is that?

On the plus side, I opened my package and made my black CC look even better. Pics coming later. :)

Here is the black variant of the Cobra Commander Retaliation line (DAMN YOU 3D!). I did not know there was a black one and was so happy to get him that I gave him a coat. Nick Fury's coat. That is all. Makes Cobra Commander look even more badass. Also gave the old Cobra Commander Nick Fury's other coat. Poor chilly Nick Fury. (It's ok. I turned Nick Fury into a Dark Jedi.)

i have been a member long enough to know that the blue one is going to be the variant this was just like when yellow 25th stalker came in wave 3 of 2007... we all hated it and wanted a green one. not more than a week or so later and rumors of a green one was out and we wanted that passing up (what r now hard to find yellow stalker variants...
