Anyone else have these when they were kids in the 1970s-1980s?

I had the Northwoods Trialblazer set. I hope to buy one again someday.

I had some of these. I ended up using some of the accessories with my Joes.

Still have some packed away with the Joes, like the sleeping bags.

Had, that I can remember:

I think I had the red jeep, I remember long after I lost the rest of it I used the plastic frame of the tent as a spider-droid type thing (many decades before Spider-droids were a thought).

The parachute they had is still 1000x better than anything I've seen since. (Held Joe, SW & almost anything else. Think rubber lines that easily untangled.)

The jeep was my vamp. Had some of the other stuff too Dirt bike, dive team boat, canue diver with octopus)

Loved that stuff.

I had this one as a kid and I played with it in the pool for hours.

Yeah but it worked quite well otherwise, I mean most times parachuts for figs don't do anything besides fall, this one actually slowed his decent effectively.

There was a trick to tossing it up I eventually learned that helped avoid the tangles. Hard to describe but you held the figure and tossed him straight up and when he fell the chute turned with him to make it work and had no tangles.

I held the middle parachute tossed it up underhand, & let gravity sort it out. Worked like a charm.

The only set I had as a kid involved the ocean...deep sea diver type guy.......I can't even remember.

I almost thought we were talking about little people...that 70s castle rocked....I used it for everything.

I had a ton of Adv. People as a kid. Loved those toys. I've always wished FP would do an anniversary series and bring them back somehow. Great toys for the time.

They look about the same as recent Mattel DC figures :)

Yeah but those were 1975 so we can be a bit more forgiving with them.

Hell even for toys that old there are aspects of them that outshine anything modern (the aforementioned Parachute or the tent in the first post for example).

good ol' adventure people... I remember as a kid ordering a army men set... or something... from JCPenny or Sears and they were out of stock so they sent me a Fisher Price Adventure People Safari set... I was really really upset about it at first... must have been seven or eight... but then it eventually because one of my favorite things to play with. the Gorilla was awesome...

...and i can't tell you how many time the Air-Sea rescue copter was taken down by plastic sharks... I had been playing out scenes from Jaws 2 long before that movie was even an idea...

I had that Safari set too. Loved the jeep.

For their time, Adventure People was top notch.

Yeah, those were great figs. I had a bunch of the sets Troy listed, including a later one that was a shark hunting boat. If only I'd seen Jaws then. I loved that rescue copter, and the one set I never got was the rescue truck that had 2 figures(a nurse and a firefighter/paramedic), opened up to carry a patient, and had a snorkel on top.

I had a few Adventure People sets and managed to hold onto many of them. I had the above safari set, I had a blue speedboat that came with a yellow jet-raft. A sub that could be carried by a helicopter that had a squid. I had a space shuttle too that included a mini ship and I had like a black space ship that had a black astronaught that was green w/ blue hair.

I wish Hasbro would do something line this line today. Imagine a subset of GI Joe called "Real American Heroes." Police, firemen, paramedics, astronauts, park rangers. Joe construction. Vehicles. Accessories.

This would be a consistent good seller. You don't need media tie-ins to sell a line like this. Every kid wants to be a fireman or cop at one point. Lego and Playmobil have consistently had firemen and police sets available for decades. They're evergreen ideas.

Agreed. I've felt that way for a long time. It'd be great to have Joe-scale firefighters, paramedics, cops, etc. I know that there were some done for the Corps! a few years back.

I loved these. I had this exact set as well as the dune buggy and a couple others before the release of ARAH figures in 1982. Once they came out, these fit in nicely with my growing Joe collection. I've thought about picking some up on ebay from time to time.
