Finally finished this C-130! I think it looks great! Dont think it could look any better! I tryed to make it look as close as possible to what it looked like in the vintage maval comic line!

I found this plane at a garage sale for $2 that was all black and dirty and had a bunch of weird stickers that I cleaned up good and gave it a sweet lookin paint job!

I got to thank my girlfirend for being such a sweet person and painting the small details and decals on form me! (: I have no artistic ability at all!

Nice job! I loved that issue too. However, I could not stand that Ace and Wild Bill were the pilots. I would have preferred generic military pilots to them. I have always disliked seeing A fighter pilot flying anything other than a Fighter Jet. OR a helo pilot flying a plane. I really could not stand Shipwreck captaining the mobile ship that became the Joes base during the first part of the IDW run either.

Cool! What scale is it?

Cool! What scale is it?

The same scale as your A-10 Warthog in the pic. It is even the same brand, "True Heroes". Even though many would say 1:18, it is actually more on par with 1:40 scale in terms of length.

A real in scale 1:18 plane of this scale would be just about 5.5 feat long. This one is just a little over 2 feat long.

It is unfortunate that this is a little bit smaller the the normal scale but this is about 1/40 maybe the plain is a little bigger then that!i wish there was more of a cockpit too! maybe some day i will manage to get a better cockpit for a fit of 3 3/4 Joes! but that wouldn't be anytime soon! haha

You know more then I do and you only seen a picture haha! Thats what I just said About 1/40th in that manner!
I wish it was five and a half feet long!

I say your scale is pretty much right on!

I agree with you there on the guys the picked to fly the plain! They should of had a new specific charecter that looked really generic military pilot clothing on!

Its surprising how many times they put the C-130 in the vintae marvel comic run!

No, that is not the True Heroes C-130 made for 3 3/4" figures. It looks like another one that came with plastic army men type toys which was smaller.

Thanks. I love that camo on yours. I was going to do it in a military sceam but instead went with a Cobra Transport plane. You should use the clear plastic from the box and cutout a windsheild for the windows. That is what I did with mine back in October before the Windshield:

I dont know really what the Ture Heroes are really and the size is just a little smaller then what it is for 3 3/4 figures to fit in, but it is just a little longer then 2 feet long and has a wing span of 2 feet so its still really big! I doubt it was made for little plasitc army men, but again I am not quite certain!

I see, you are right. The window pains look different. That is more like 1:64 scale I believe.

It was. I had at least one of those as a kid, and it came with a handful of troops and a little M60 tank. They later modified the mold into an AC-130.

These were made by TimMee/Processed Plastics.

The sizes may be similar, but the True Heroes one is a very different sculpt and it has electronics inside. The True Heroes plane is not even techincally called a C-130 from the name on the box.

The one you have although probably about the same general size as the True Heroes one was designed to go with plastic army men.

I've always wondered what a GI Joe looks like next to it?

The Hercules it 97.7 feet long. Just as an indicator, 1.5 feet would make it 1/64 scale. If it is 2 feet, it would be 1/48 scale.

I never realized the box does say works with 3 1/2 to 5" action figures. Hmmm. EDit: I nocited they put "Holds" rather than "works with". I guess technically it's true that it can "hold" them.

Thats what mine was but it was molded in black. I had to paint it the green it is! That is the same mold tho for sure!

Its atleast 2 feet long so id say then it is in the 1/48th scale.
