Reso-lation Zartan

Didn't like Resolute Zartan (too short), and didn't like Retaliation Zartan (too weird) so this is my attempt at making lemonade from lemons

It's a WIP because, I want to paint the hood red, but don't know how to paint the inside of it as well. Also the Res SE legs make him taller than most Joe figures to date with the exception of Ret: Roadblock/Rock. Don't know how I feel about that since Destro is cannonically the tallest Cobra agent.

Overall the 25th Viper Lower Legs are closer to the Hasbro design of Retaliation Zartan wearing skin tight leggings under knee high boots. However, I find the rounded foot piece to not quite fit aesthetically. I like the angular foot design of the Reso SE Lower Legs.

that's a very interesting look for Zartan, I agree the Retaliation Zartan is very creepy looking. He is almost perfect but there is something about him that is off. I love the Resolute Zartan but he IS too short. I like what you have done here. I took my Retaliaton Zartan and put POC Alley Viper lower legs on him but the knees don't cover up the hinge in the upper leg so I have to find some different knee pads.

I don't have the figures in front of me, but would using the 25th anniversary Viper's lower legs work? They're very high boots but they're slim like Retali-Zartan's legs...

That was my other option, and only went with Res SE due to not wanting to destroy as 25th Viper. I'll try this when I get home, so we can compare.

i am a huge fan of the Retaliation Zartan, and i have to ask..Doesn't your mod make him freakishly tall? RetZartan has a very long torso, and while i didn't try Citystrike SE's shins on him, every set of non RET legs i tried on him made him overly tall.

Why paint the inside of the hood at all?

also, is the head attached to the hood? usually you can just remove the head and paint separately.

Yeah, that is the main reason I am struggling with my modifications. With the current set up, he is 2mm taller or shorter than Reso Destro (depending on how you catch the top of the hood). I like Reso Destro to be the tallest Joe figure [Ret: RoadRock is relagated to hanging around MU]. However, something about Zartan's function at Cobra makes me feel he needs the additional POAs, as opposed to Cobra Commander who just stands around looking pretty.

LOL! I would take you up on your offer, if only I could find the weapons. Believe the blue gun from Ret was not my first choice for armament. I found the Reso Box, but all that was in there was fat Storm Shadow. Must have stuck it in some hole just gotta remember whose ...

Glued, seems like. I can cut the head from the hood, but too much work.
