Both swords are made from the Quick-Kick handle and Temple SE blades, using styrene for the guards.

Thighs on the modern Ryu are from the Ret Zartan.

I have the torso you speak of. Unfortunately, it's too fat, or bloated looking for my taste. It really didn't look good when I test fitted the arms and legs. Kinda like an apple on toothpicks.

"Essence of the character"... I like that. That's really what I was going for, using 99% factory parts to get as close to the character as I could without sculpting or fabricating any extra details.

That all depends on what version. I've seen the headband one, but then some screen shots show no headband. Also... I wasn't trying to get either of these "screen accurate" necessarily. I went with a look that I liked, and matched parts to get a "as close to" finished piece. And in doing so, others could fairly easily duplicate what I've done if they chose to.

These are so cool! I've always been partial to the blue Ryu, as well. I never beat Ninja Gaiden 1. I only ever beat NG2. Of course, these are the NES versions. NJ1 is ridiculously hard. Good work, buddy!

Classic Ryu uses Walmart 25th Tunnel Rat scarf with Slice headband tails.

Modern Ryu uses Ren Tunnel Rat scarf with MU Phoenix belt tails.
