View Full Version : Dollar General Joes 'one time buy'?
Superjoe74

It's speculation and I am not sure how to regard the legitimacy of the claim but, I was told at different Dollar General Stores that the basic figures waves are a 'special event' and a 'one time buy' and the DG stores did not expect it to restock after these 2 waves of figures.
Each of the stores indicated that they have reset there modulars and do not have pegs or space set aside for the Joes (they had stocked the figures in any empty spot they had available) as it would not be a regularly stocked item.
Any comments are welcomed....

I don't doubt that this is the information they have, but there are other possibilities.
1- The line isn't extended beyond two waves at this time so Hasbro and the retailers can see how well or poorly the figures sell. If I were Dollar General, I'd be skepitical about GI Joe after those lousy VvV repacks that didn't come with weapons. I still see those in stores, and they came out when everyone was still looking for a 25th gloveless Flint!
2- Dollar General may not be the only store who carries these. Big Lots? Family Dollar?
3- The Debacle that occured with the movie line has also disrupted this line. If this line was made to bring support the main line, they may wait until more main line figures are released to make a mass release of these gems.

I went to the DG in Dumfries,VA yesterday and they had no figs or even a tag for them. I hope that this is not true, because I haven't gotten any of these yet.

This is what I was thinking too, Hasbro recalled Retaliation wave 2 and beyond and put the line on hold, what's to say this DG line wasn't either supposed to be released alongside the Retaliation movie line (testing the waters since some of us have begged them to do 2 lines like they do with Star Wars) or these got confused by the DG people as part of the Retaliation line and that's why they aren't getting them anymore because someone up in the DG corp. thinks these are all recalled now too.
I really really hope the repaint wave goes to Family Dollar!

I kind of figured this. Some people keep saying they will be all over eventually, but they have been out for weeks now and they are still not all over. I wouldn't doubt it if these only had a small amount made and were only intended for dollar general.
I'm glad I was able to get a case when they hit...

First, do NOT take anything a DG employee says as gospel. They are generally more in the dark about what they are getting than the Walmart people.
"Special buys" tend to be overstock situations, stuff Hasbro made once and doesn't plan on making again.
Dollar General carried "cheapy GI Joe singles" from 2004 until they were replaced by Combat Heroes in 2009, and they have carried those until replaced by the current crop of cheapies.
I find it doubtful the newest versions would be "special buys" when Hasbro expressly produced them for this market. They might not get anymore until the next reset, but I don't think them "one and done".
Second, Dollar General still has not reset for Christmas. Their toy section ALWAYS expands around September as they gear up for Christmas, and I'd expect more Joes to start arriving then.

In my area, these flew off the shelves, while the Retaliation figures seem to be pegwarming (except for the army builders). I'm sure they had to have noticed how quickly they went through these. The reason they don't have pegs for them is probably that for many stores, they didn't stay up on the pegs for very long, or got bought before they were even put out (I got 2 sets this way).

pegs or space set aside? I'm not sure what the DG looks like in your area, but here toys are randomly put on the shelf across five or more different isles from the front of the store to the very back. It is almost as if whoever stocks just takes a box of whatever out of the back and walks up and down an aisle until they find a space to put it.
If you walk into a DG and cannot find joes, look next to the toilet paper, cereal, or dog food.

Hasbro stopped doing them. In fact...they stopped doing them for pretty much all their lines. Besides all that ever happened was people complaining about the responses or that their questions weren't picked or whatever.
Anyway, it would not make sense for these to be a "one and done" in the fashion that's been described. Hasbro isn't going to create a whole new product line for something like that, and I doubt what we've already seen would even qualify as a minimum production run. -Maybe- for an exclusive, but if that were a case, "Dollar General" would almost certainly have been on the package somewhere. Even a second-tier retailer like DG is going to advertise when they have an exclusive product.
I remain confident we'll see more, and probably not just at DG.

I think Dollar General will end up being the test market, to see if this new line will do good at the Dollar Store Retail level.
So far it seems to be, so I'd expect (hope) a wider release and to more stores like Five Below, Family Dollar, etc..

I wish these threads would die, we need a dollar general joe sticky on verified information and the best logical explanations. I had some intelligent conversations with DG managers and this is what I've gotten so far.
These figures are not on the current planogram. Because of that, it's not possible to print out a shelf label for them as they have no assortment sku yet or specific place to go on the sales floor. They simply hit the warehouses and were sent to some stores. No one knows why some stores got them and others didn't. An educated guess would have been higher sales volume stores or stores that sold more Joes in the past. I did find out the DG Joes were labeled "core" on their inventory screen which I'm told means they're going to be part of a current line that will be continued to be stocked. Remember that DG is no Target and they're below WM's inventory standards. They can't see into the warehouse to see if there is stock available nor can they check stock of other stores.

There are two truths about the DG Joes.
1. They have been released at the majority of Dollar Generals. The issue is just that people, scalpers or whatever people want to call them/me, bought them all up. I found about 5 cases and bought them all. 3 out of the 5 cases I bought I was told that the store I was in didn't have them and nobody knows anything. So I made a real stink about it and made the DG people dig through their back inventory and wah lah we found that little DG Box of Joes. So believe it or not a lot of DG Joe Cases are in the back of many DG's but the lazy employees won't stock them because there is no SKU or spot for them.
2. DG manager's can order these all day! The other 2 cases I bought were from 2 really awesome DG store managers that ordered them for me from their next truck and told me that this ordering can be done by any DG manager. One manager even ordered 2 cases for me. But I left 1 case there for the lazy slow collectors that complain about not finding the DG Joes.(JK)
So I say fight for your DG Joes. Now you know, and Knowing is half the battle.
Oh and yes I admit I scalped but I have seen several cases since and let them be for others to buy or scalp. Also I'm selling 3 cases at Joecon at a minor markup. So really I'm getting cases back to fellow fans. I feel like I fought to get these Joes so it's not too evil of me. Would Zartan feel guilty for scalping? Hell no. And I wish I was him.

OK
So I have worked in retail and collected toys for a very long time and I know this much:
"promotional" items are:
1. Given away free to entice a customer to buy that brand
2. Given away free with the purchase of a similar item in order to entice the customer to buy more
3. Sold to promote a similar item and entice customers to buy those as well
Soooo......
Where exactly do these fall into the category as a promotional item as deemed by this "knowledgable" manager and/or what exactly are they "promoting" at Dollar general?
(BTW-there's a reason wny they are "managing" a Dollar General) which truly is the bowels of the retail food chain

Exactly right. If you want correct information, you go to the people most likely to have that information. Discussing GI JOE toys with a Dollar General employee is like discussing gasoline refinement technology with a filling station attendant. They aren't going to know anything useful about it - worse, you may get one of those "fill in the blanks" type people who give you a bunch of useless, unhelpful, or incorrect information.
These "DG" figures were probably discussed as a special buy because they were ordered and imported directly from Hasbro's factory in China. Such orders are generally allocations from (or a complete) single production run and tend to be much more on a made-to-order basis as opposed to Hasbro just producing a big run then warehousing the inventory indefinitely as retailers buy it at their leisure.
It is easy enough to observe that Hasbro is marketing these figures specifically to the "dollar store" discount retail sector given the packaging design, etc. If they were Dollar General store exclusives it would likely say so on the package. My guess is that they were offered to a number of discount retailers in this category and that Dollar General has been the only retailer thus far to take Hasbro up on the product.
If you haven't been able to find these and can't afford a set on eBay I wouldn't have a total panic just yet. It is likely as year moves forward that other discount retailers will have these. It is also possible that they will eventually be offered to specialty retailers such as the internet specialty stores. The accessory-less Valor vs. Venom figures that you can still find in some Dollar General stores were, but few if any specialty retailers took Hasbro up on those figures for reasons which are probably obvious.

This may have already been addressed. The conversation I had with a DG manager was that the figures were not on their Summer Plan-O-Gram, which may change with the Fall P-O-G. The figures were on order though.

Another side note: the "el-cheapo" Transformers toys that were first released Christmas of 2010 are STILL showing up new at discount stores (ross & tuesday morning specifically) so I wouldn't sweat any of this. This "line" of joes will likely be available to many, many chains over the next year or two.
I think it's a whole lot of crap that dollar general stores are on the cutting edge of anything. I can appreciate the American Dream/G.I. Joe/9 months until you guys don't feel crapped all over, but you are all still awake, right? On the inside, I think the dollar store debacle AND the prospect of a movie on the verge of release indicates that this brand is the property of a company that is facing extreme shifts in its business model. We're a canary in the coal mine, right now, that doesn't affect it's outside contracts.

There are quite a few assumptions there. While I hope you are right, the reality is only one store has these figures and they are having trouble re-stocking, much less stocking the figures in all of their stores. This either means that they jumped the gun on stocking the figures at all or that this was a very limited production run. We know that another run of these figures is out there and perhaps due to the success of the initial run they might be more widely available. (Note the word "might".) But right now there is simply nothing else comparable to these - the closest thing were the Ross "exclusives" and they were also pretty limited.

That's not true at all. We have plenty of things to compare them to. In the "joe" universe, there are the weaponless VvsV figures that they got in over and over and over for 2-3 years and then the final stock of that ended up at TJM/Marshalls. We also have all the "discount" transformers that have been restocked over and over (the dino-scouts with keys on generations cards, the dino-legends that just started showing up, the optimus vs tank megs deluxe 2-pack).
The only difference with these joes is rather than kitbashing old o-ring molds they've kitbashed new 25th/modern molds. AND that they've changed the line so that instead of "whatever old crap" characters (like the dino-scouts) they've done "core characters" (these joes, the tf generations carded legends just showing up, and the marvel "statue" figures with 5 points of articulation (the vehicle drivers from the Marvel movie lines).
These will *eventually* show up at more than one store, just like all the other "bargain" lines from Hasbro for the last few years. What's surprising to me is that BBTS/Entertainment Earth haven't picked up on the popularity and ordered them from Hasbro. They do stock all the old TF ones. Though to be fair the latest TF ones haven't shown up on bbts either, so maybe they get them late. Who knows...

I've checked at least 25 (may have been 26 or 27) dollar generals in at least 11 towns many of them multiple times over a 5 week period. I have found them, but these suckers are few and far between. I think even the few stores that got them didn't reorder them when they sold because they don't have a designated peg for them. Why would they reorder them, with no empty peg to remind them to? I got a set from a manager who was planning to wait until the v vs v singles sold out before she put them out for sale.
So, experience thus far says these suckers are rare and may stay that way, HOWEVER, there was the guy who reported some inside information that these had been made in huge numbers so maybe so.
Speaking of which, I have some for sale.

I've had these ordered for the last three weeks in a row. Nothing is being sent to the stores at this time from the warehouses. I had 18 ordered the first week they hit. Then 24 the second and 48 the 3rd week. I got all of those orders. The 4th week I ordered 24 and nothing has shown up since. It could be that the warehouse is waiting on more wave one. Either that or the Warehouse is waiting on the wave two repaints to show up. It does say GI Joe basic exclusive figure assortment on the side of each case of 24. It could very well be that Dollar General underestimated demand for these figures. However if that is the case I'm sure they will reorder heavy from China.

Theory based strickly on my past retail expierience,
DG only ordered so much the first go round, Its not like the cheapo marvel/TF toys sell through quickly. It seems like they are out of stock. Since nothing publically or privtely has called these things DG exclusives, my guess is that DG put them out early instead of waiting till aug/sept when I fully expect these to show up in other discount stores. TJMaxx/marshalls will likely stock these at some point, being that old Joe sales brought in who knows how many collector wife spending dollars. $10 worth of Joes for me, $200 in crap for wife.
We have not seen the last of these discount Joes.

Yep, they're done, never to be seen again, ever.
Spread the word: It's not even worth looking for them anymore, really. You'll never find them so why bother?
Now if you'll excuse me, I need to stop by my local small-box retailers for uh...some odds and ends. Yeah....
On a more serious note, I'd put money down that more of these are coming, and not just to Dollar General. Hasbro isn't going to introduce an entirely new product line for an extremely limited run at one second-tier retailer. What we've seen pass through stores already isn't even enough for an "exclusive" run. If that were all that was ordered, Hasbro would never have made them in the first place.

I think we'll see Dollar General restock. The question is what assortment will it be? The repaint wave or more wave one? I don't think these will be at any other retailer anytime soon. Family dollars toy buyer told me nothing was in the system for those upc's and that nothing GI JOE was ordered from Hasbro. If TJ Maxx or Marshalls gets them it won't be until the fall if even then. It also could have something to do with the movie being pushed back as to why they stopped shipping these figures.

I have seen only 2 stores restock that I bought out originally, but it was only one time so far. COuld have been stock they slowly put out. The 1-2 boxes per store theory is what I been going with and seems to have held so far. Suppsodley they may get more on the 23rd is what some stores have told me...but like others have said...what do the actual store employees know? I agree with your theory. I had no problems having lots of them ordered the first three weeks after they hit. Then all of a sudden my orders stopped being filled. I hope what you heard about the 23rd is true as I have 24 on order now. Even if they fail to show up I'll just keep ordering because the warehouse is bound to get more in sometime. If the repaint wave shows up next and sells through fast again. Then we'll know that these are not going to be restocked in any great amounts. However if more wave one shows up then I think we'll be ok with restocks going forward. Time will tell.

Still has no bearing on the situation. Retailers of all kinds just want product to sell for christmas...they dont care what line it is. Unless the order it, it wont be on the shelf. its ultimately their choice as to what they will carry and when they will carry it. They definetly do not need a Joe line on the shelf to survive in that regard and can totally skip if they chose to do so.

It's true that Joe sells well at Xmas time. These sales are better because retailers actually order enough product during that time of the year. Although with this movie being pushed back to spring of 2013 I don't think that will help sales during the last quarter of 2012 for GI JOE.

Here is what I know.
I have found 4 complete sets of these figures and a few stragglers.
I travel a lot for my job, and that has allowed me to check stores all over south eastern Louisiana. I have been to 16 different Dollar Generals in Houma, Metairie, LaPlace, Baton Rouge, Napoleonville, and Paincourtville LA. I have not been to Fleur de Lance yet, but they only sell Gung-ho there anyway.
I have found the figures in half of the Baton Rouge Stores, and in the Villes. None of the stores where I found them had pegs for them. I bought most of what they had when I found them. I have returned to the stores to buy the figures I left on the pegs, and they were still there. I made three trips to one store in consecutive days, and the cashier told me that I am the only person she has seen buying the figures. None of the stores have re-stocked since I wiped them out.
I have been back to a few stores that didn't have them on my first stop ( in Houma and Metairie to be precise). None of them had any figures on the second stop. I asked employees and showed them pictures of carded figures on my phone. They had never seen them.
I talked to the manager at the store nearest to my house. She did not know if they would be getting more, but told me if I could get the skews she could order some for me. I had a receipt in my car. She entered the numbers in her scanner and ordered a few cases for me. When she entered the skews the product showed up as a new item. She said they would be on the truck that comes on Saturday the 23rd. Fingers crossed.

This echoes my findings. I have been trying to buy up any stragglers i find from store to store as I come accross any singles or left overs like the occasiaonal shipwreck and CC in hopes that once they clear they will replenish/restock with a new order..but that hasen't seemed to help any :(
I have made really good friends with a manager at one of the family dollars on my frequent route and he hasnt seen any likes of these figures yet. The same thing happened to me. I was able to order cases and receive them for a three week period before the warehouse went out of stock. This leads me to believe that Dollar Generals Toy Buyer greatly underestimated demand for these figures. They failed to order enough product plain and simple. I'm willing to bet other retailers did not want to sell this line. I think the only way we have a chance at seeing more is to collectively pressure Dollar generals Toy buyers to start ordering these again.

There's really no way for them to know. I mean look at the other toys they sell. It probably takes them all year to sell an entire case of those transparent ninjas or the crappy Marvel figures.
Hopefully, the company sees how well they sold and decides to order much more.

They should be smart enough. However it never hurts to hear that from their Customers. I love this line of figures as well. The fact that Dollar General actually follows MSRP is a wonderful thing. That's more than I can say for most of these other greedy retailers. Ten dollars has become the standard price point for these figures. Even with fewer accessories and no file cards six bucks is much more reasonable.

One of the Hasbro guys himself said it pissed him off that they released a series that wasn't even available in RI.

Yeah. It's not Hasbros fault that Dollar General did not order enough product.
It may be in part. I suspect it has to do with the decision to take the 2$ VvV figures that were selling well, repackage them without any accesories, then sell them for 3.50$. Of course no one bought them, so DG just figured Joes don't sell well and didn't order many of these.
Whether that decision was Hasbro's or retailers (or both) is debatable. It does seem that the strong sales took both parties by surprise, so hopefully we will see many more waves.

Shitty distribution on Joe toys! This news must have come at them from nowhere and left them shocked and amazed. Usually Joe stuff is so easy to find and has such even distribution. I can see why they wouldn't benefit from their product being hard to find, and I understand why they'd want to do something about it as soon as they heard it for the first time ever in life. I hope they don't let poor distribution become something collectors have had to deal with for the last few years.

I'm assuming that means distribution wouldn't have been a problem if there were Dollar General stores in Rhode Island . . . even if there were none of these actual figures there because distribution is a problem.

Ehhh not so much. They were more irked by the fact that people really liked the figures but the fact that they went to Dollar General didn't sit well as there are certain regions (like the East Coast) that were not going to see them regardless of how the distribution failed.

Kinda like ROSS.
Kinda like ROSS.
Those situations are a little different.
You see waves of stuff end up at Ross as opposed to a whole seperate series like the DG Joes. They were produced specifically for DG where the Ross figures end up there as a result of poor sales or overstock.

I have found several cases of figures or partial cases but, after those initial shipments none of those stores have restocked. What is worse is the lack of information from Hasbro and from the DG Management as to the actual status of these figures. No one DG Manager has been able to give me a solid answer and no two have given the same answer. Hasbro has not made any definite comment either.

I can only share what I was told by the manager of a DG by me... She said she could order as many as she wanted because of the way it was "coded" in her system. Something about being a constantly available item. Yet she has not been able to get me any of them.

The shame of all this is, regardless of who is at fault, this line would've been a winner, and now it's been botched completely. If these had been readily available, as they should have been, hasbro would be making some easy cash right now, and we wouldn't be stuck with just wave 1 retaliation to choose from.

It's true that Joe sells well at Xmas time. These sales are better because retailers actually order enough product during that time of the year. Although with this movie being pushed back to spring of 2013 I don't think that will help sales during the last quarter of 2012 for GI JOE.
Joe sells better at xmas because everyone orders multiple cases and troop builders load up. Hard to buy 10 builders when they are not on the pegs

The fanboy collectors were not the intended target audience for these figures. It's funny to think that this one set of figures has put DG in the forefront of our shopping destinations. How frequently would we have shopped DG if it was not for these figures and if the figures were readily available consider how much more business DG would have from our demographic.

I never stepped foot in one before these figures. The existence of these figures generated a lot of revenue to Dollar general from me. Not only did I buy about 50 of the figures, but I also would buy a Coke or a Milky way every now and again. I'n sure a lot of other dudes did the same thing. By not restocking these figures they are losing all that revenue.

I gave up looking a few weeks ago...I'm, uh, fortunate (?!?? I think) enough to have 3 Dollar Generals in decent driving distance from my home and work, and were hitting all 3 up at least twice a week looking since they were announced on here as found. I even asked the employees, usually to a "huh??" response, but almost had a good lead with one manager who was trying to order some for me, but that went nowhere. I originally wanted to get a few of each for customs, but now I'll just settle for one set.

Ok everyone I just got off the phone with Dollar General's home office. I spoke with the toy buyers assistant. I informed him that many people are looking for these figures and that the figures are not making it to store level. I provided him with the UPC numbers. He is going to speak with Eric Headberger. (Main toy buyer) and get back to me regarding the status of these items. I also asked about future assortments going forward and a timeframe of when these will be more widely available. He did inform me that there will be resets coming at store level in the next month or so for the fall season. It is very possible that these items will be a new item in the fall resets. I hope this helps. I will post again once he follows up with me.

This makes about as much sense as Hasbro saying they have no idea where the python patrol croc master and green/yellow repainted variant of blowtorch went COUGH yeah right....DG employees don't know the difference between a bag of 20 green army man figs and GI JOE combat heros to be able to ascertain any sense that the DG would be worth selling on ebay...they are just all mostly sold out of thier inntail supply and they have not reordered them due to the expressed "frustration" Hasbro has had with their "distribution", which translates to me as to hey we need you to hold these figures back till we can sell our retaliation stuff next year...lol

It's possible that employee's at store level were selling them off for profit. However to few have shipped to each store for these to be done so fast. I'd be shocked that Dollar General would make such a small production run. Eric is the toy buyer nothing fictitious about that. I have no reason to make it up and nothing to gain.

My local DG set up the new $6 peg last week, and this weekend they stocked the set which I bought most of. I hope they restock a few times as I want multiples of most of the set. Before moving on to wave 2.
I have a feeling Hasbro might be cooking up a wave 3 when you consider how popular these are. Maybe use it as a chance to release some of those vault figures that are repaints. The 30th Stinger Driver and 30th Cobra Officer would be great to have to match the 30th Trooper and Sniper. I replaced all my 25th Troopers with 30th, but now all the 25th Officer don't match, so I need 30ths to go with them.

Found another Duke and Cobra Trooper today. I left the other 4 figures for someone else. Who would have Dollar General and Ollies would be the best place to buy Joes?

My son got a set for his birthday. The best part is even though his only connection to any Joe verse is ARAH on Hub, he knew who all the figures were.

FINALLY found these guys! One set each at two different stores. Helped someone else get a set and kept one for me to trade/open.
Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes look awesome. I've always loved those costumes. I wish SE's sword was orange.

I have been checking at one DG in particular for months now, with zero luck. However, the employees have always been very nice; especially Nick who unloads the trucks. I went to this DG on Friday to pick up a couple of drinks for my son and I. I did not even bother checking the toy section, since I had all but given up. I was at the register when the girl looked at me and said, your the guy that was waiting for the G.I. Joes right? I told her yes, and she handed me a case fresh box! She said that Nick said to give me a couple of days to come in before putting them on the shelf. Talk about making my day. So remember be nice to the employees, and be patient, it will pay off. :)

You get more with sugar then spice.
Well I have to go pick up another case, just came in yesterday and it's on hold for me. Thanks to a nice manager who has been helping me.
Last thing. When you get your recites for your DG Joes. Do the store that helped you a favor, there is an online survey link on recite, you can leave feedback for the store and it helps them a lot.
I left feedback for the manager that helps me and she was able to read it later on.

If your area has none, as dave and whoever else said, simply ask the manager if they can order some for you. If they agree (and it is totally up to them..think about it if they refuse do you want them handleing them?) then it may take up to a month or so to get them in. Kindly talk to them when you check, and be patient (and I suggest only check once a week, no need to be creeper king). Hell you may even see more than you ordered. Biz is built by relationships, and that is true even in the world of discount stores. Gas stations on the other hand...well the world of gas is just as it sounds. COBRA!

I have seen these at every store I have been in for the last 3 weeks. I havent needed to harass any store managers. I found three sets in a two week period at the same store. As I have said from the beginning I imagine these will be as abundant as their Marvel and Transformers counterparts.
Same here. One DG I want to didn't have these for months and this DG stores got thme in last week.

I am glad to see all of the feedback this thread has recieved.
What's more, I am glad Hasbro has followed through with the statement they made several months ago at Joe Con that they had 'heard our concern for having more of these figures made', they understood we wanted more and would look into 'improving distribution.
Now that these figures are appearing more abundantly I have to wonder 'when will we see the repaint wave?'

Just at dollar general today, my kids went into the toy isle and I hear my son exclaim look daddy gi joe! I walk over into the isle and on the top peg with a huge NEW! Sticker on the price tag for the peg was 6 figures snake eyes storm shadow cobra commander a cobra trooper shipwreck and duke. Gotta admit I really dug the cobra trooper. And in not really into the newer joes. Really kinda shocked me though as I haven't seen any joe stuff out since the skystrikers came out about a year ago.

At one DG recently I rifled through one of the gray backstock bins they had piled in the aisle and found a full set mixed in there with a bunch of crappy toys. The bin had a sticker on it saying something like "not marked down," i.e. not clearance stock and the bin was labeled the month of May.
So I think because there was no peg space for them, a bunch of these stores stuck them in backstock for months. And what we're seeing now might not always be new shipments, but just the stores finally working through the backstock and finding the new peg as a result of the new reset to put them on. There might be some new shipments though, because I think I saw a newer date stamp on some figures that got put out at a store that did already sell out of them before.
From what I can tell, the Combat Heroes are supposed to be put on clearance. They are obviously not supposed to be on the $6 peg. So the stores that put them there might still have DG Joes sitting in the stockroom. They may have looked at them, seen the peg is full of "G.I. Joe" and left them in backstock.

Those bins are what their shipments come in, not backstock.

Yesterday I was out of town all day to do some personal things that needed to be taken care of such as psychological exams yada yada.
Anyhoo I went to the Dollar General store and was suprised to find just one of the dollar store G.I. Joe figures and it was the Cobra Commander figure for 5 bucks. Great figure but it looked so tiny in the card lol. Then I put it back since I'm more into Star Wars anyway

Went to a Dollar General today that I have been checking with for weeks. I nearly left the store after I had bought a few items; but the cashier asked if I was the one that had asked about the G.I. Joe figures. I told her yes, and she pulled out a box from under the register. She said she had been holding them for either myself or a friend of mine who also was looking for them. I picked up the Cobra Trooper, and left the rest for my buddy. It really does pay to be nice to the employees, this is the second time at two different stores this has happened to me. :)
