Battleship was a blast! A really fun time at the theater. But because nobody can get past the fact that it's based on a board game it's ROTTEN.

Prometheus is a massive WTF( Nobody can explain what this movie is about. But because it has Ridley Scott's name on it it's automatically FRESH.

my problem with battleship is simple.
it made no sense to name this particular movie after that game.
what does battleship have to do with aliens?
this could have made better sense if the plot was something like this....

US ships are on the sea, they find a batch of korean/russian/or whatever and engage in a battle. one fleet vs the other with ships going down on both sides (submarines too). throw some drama in there like titanic type of deal with sinking war ships and lovers going under, maybe one ship boards the other and prisoners are captures and held hostage,
you get my point

that to me is battleship, not a few ships fighting aliens on land.

Yep, Prometheus does look like a good movie though. Battleship, sheesh, I don't wanna watch it.

Going in to see Prometheus as an alien movie is not what i was expecting at all with that said its a great start to a Alien verse in a new direction

Prometheus is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. And I'm not usually very fussy. It's just a bunch of scenes thrown together that make no sense. It raises a ton of questions & answers none of them. And there's absolutely nothing new in it, it's all the same old stale crap we've seen a million times before. Group of people land on an alien planet, a bunch of half-baked goofy looking critters show up & kill them for no reason at all, one woman manages to survive. Yawn LAME AS HELL! I will totally forget this turd in a couple years. There is seriously not one minute in Prometheus that is "FRESH". Everything in the movie is old, tired & stale. Ridley should be smacked in the head for making it & the writers should never be allowed to write again.

Battleship is the best movie I've seen this year. The navy is out playing their war games but there's an alien ship in the ocean that crashed here a long time ago. The aliens are trying to get a message to their home planet but the stupid humans start to fuck with them. It was loud, fun & had awesome FX. The PERFECT summer popcorn movie. Avengers was awesome & I saw it twice but it's the same old super hero crap we've already seen a million times. We just had a movie with Thor fighting Loki, we didn't really need another one so soon. So that's why Battleship beats Avengers. I've seen the super heroes do their thing already, but I've never seen battleships in the ocean fighting aliens & space ships. I'm also a big fan of Crysis & Battleship felt pretty close to a live action Crysis movie. And the ONLY complaint I've heard about Battleship is that it's based on a board game. But it's alright to base a movie on a Disney ride about pirates.

So far this year I've seen John Carter, Wrath Of The Titans, Iron Sky, Avengers, Battleship & Prometheus. The 1st 5 were awesome but Prometheus was the worst pile of shit I've seen in a long time. Don't waste your money on it. It's as bad as all those cheap low budget direct to video releases that most people ignore.

The only thing that 'confused' me regarding PROMETHEUS was why the Engineers wanted to destroy Earth when they were the ones who created life here. Possibilities that I can think of:

We were created just as a testing ground for their bio weapons, a sort of expendable petri dish

Humans were actually an attempt at creating a bio-weapon but we were getting too powerful so they decided to wipe us out

A renegade Engineer created us and another faction wanted us gone

There are others.

Liz Shaw goes off to at the end of the film to (hopefully) get the answer in the sequel, so it didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Presumably she's off to LV-426 to turn the Engineer's own Xenomorphs against them and lead into ALIEN.

I certainly think the plot holes have been overstated in some reviews... I guess the writer was correct whe he said some audience members just want everything spoon fed to them.

Well for the people that didn't like Prometheus I think this will make you a little bit happy. Madagascar 3 actually took in more money domestically than Prometheus. With Madagascar 3 earning about 60.3 million compared to Prometheus making 50 million. Madagascar 3 also has made 75.5 million worldwide in its opening weekend. I for one didn't expect any of this, but there it is.

Yeah I know. I just didn't really expect for it to do that well. I ended up seeing the first two and they were okay, but I didn't expect it to do better than Prometheus. I just wanted to throw that out there for the people that didn't like Prometheus.
