SS figure stand question

Hey Sideshow, what determines which type of body holding stand comes with a figure? Personally I hate the stands that hook in between the legs, I prefer the one that wraps around the waist.

I believe the hip one was the early version. The newer figures have all come with crotch type stands.

The new ninja figure that recently shipped (black cobra ninja) came with a hip holding stand.

Due to the nature of the gear on these figures, the waist type usually can't really work properly. For the Ninja, they probably gave him that type though because of the type of pants.

I personally don't like using them at all.
