can we have backpacks to put all the shit we buy into, or is there some patriot act 911 IED phobia prohibiting having them, also i drink A LOT of water (more so in NOLA in JUNE/JULY) so is a camel back permited too, just wanna plan accordingly. tahnks.

I've carried one with me the last two times I've gone, they never seem to mind. It's really a good idea, frees up your hands to dig through other bins of figures after purchases.

I have used a backpack at pretty much every JoeCon I have been to, never had a problem. Well except for nearly knocking stuff over in those tightly packed booths.

Ya if you want to buy stuff (particularly big stuff) & not constantly walk out to the car a backpack is a good thing to have. I use one for all the cons I've gone to.

I like the newer back packs with the slot for camel packs built in.

I don't think any convention prohibits the use of backpacks. I've never been to JoeCon, but I always keep a backpack with me for the comic conventions I go to. I gotta have the con essentials.

They let you walk around with fake guns and swords, ect. Why would a backpack be a problem.

because we now live in a paranoid culture (thanks terrorist assholes) and many places with large public gatherings try to reduce "threat" potential. this is my first con just wanted to make sure there was no dumbshit muck'n it up.

As long as you one-strap the backpack, you're cool

Louisiana is a concealed carry state. There will be concealed handguns so a pack should not be a problem. I for one do not have any plans to get robbed on my way to the car or anywhere else in New Orleans.

Good to know. I've got just the Backback. Holds a Bose Ipod player with the ipod and still has room enough for a 2000pg book like Les Miserables. It has 8 zippered sections. Had It since middle school. It's ginormous and gray and has lasted a long time. It's still usefull. If u see a guy with a giant, grey back pack cruising the show room, thats me.

If that's the case then I'm sure backpacks are encouraged. Gotta thin the ranks a little. :D

I am sure there will be literally hundreds if not thousands of backpacks at joecon.

usually they are anywhere from fifty cents to a dollar.

I remember one year a greek named ?Nikos? carried his suitcase with him everywhere, we began to wonder if he had a room or just slept in the lobby.

Backpacks are only prohibited/discouraged at places where you don't need one (sporting events).

Conventions, something to carry things is a requirement, so backpacks are allowed.
