3 Weeks until Joe Con What are you hoping to see?

No matter if you are home at Broke-Con or in New Orleans at Joe Con, what are you hoping to see at the 2012 International G.I. Joe Collectors' Convention (Joe Con)?

-I really hope that Hasbro sets up a large Diorama as well like they have in years pasts.

-Do you think Hasbro will even show up and give us new figures to look at? I had heard that Bot Con was poor on Hasbro's side of things and that they are waiting until SDCC 2012.

-Will there will be a Parachute Drop figure this year?

-Will the Club's Figure Subscription Service start at Joe Con?

Personally, I hope to see a more Renegades figures of characters that we do not have in single packs or multi-packs.

I want to see more A.R.A.H. figures to fill out the holes in our collections (any character from 1986-1989), but I doubt that it will happen this year.

Also, I hope that Hasbro does not save everything for SDCC 2012.

I'm also looking forward to meeting some Tankers for the first time, and most of all getting my drink on with my fellow Grenadiers. If I'm there with friends I could give 2 shits about anything else.

I'd like to see that Hasbro has scrambled over the past two weeks and plans on releasing a couple of 7 packs sometime late summer early fall to give up some more Rengades figures or more 30th / PoC figures that were developed but had no release schedule.

Chances are slim, but after five years of fairly steady GI Joe figures, I can't see Hasbro not bridging the gap with something between now and the movie.

I'm hoping that Hasbro pulls out some stops and treats the fans nice with some freebies to make up for the disappointment of not having a movie this year.

I'd also like to see Marauder John as I plan to buy some accessories.

The Club is being quiet about a parachute drop, but again, hasbro should step forward and give us something since we were promised a movie premiere that isn't happening.

Maybe we'll find out about some new Dollar General Joes? That would be nice.

Since Its in my home town and I have to miss it because the jackasses moved it to a date where I will be attending a wedding in Seattle (Why did they do that again?) I guess I hope to see a whole lotta pics on Hisstank! hopefully of new stuff!

I won't be attending (didn't even get to snag a Homefront Heroes Oktober Guard set, ugh), so I'll be here looking at everybody else's pics. As for Hasbro, I wouldn't be surprised if they cheapened out for the Con. They'll show the stuff we've already seen at Toy Fair, I doubt anything new. They're probably not even working on any new Joe stuff until the movie finally comes out.

It was the Club that set that up, not Hasbro. And the Club shouldn't do anything because it was out of their control that the movie got pushed back.

At first I thought Hasbro might cancel their appearance at Joe Con altogether, but now that they haven't, I'm pretty sure they'll show up to try to do "damage control."

To that end, they'll probably show a lot of the Retaliation stuff we've already seen, and then give folks a sneak-preview of some of the stuff that will hopefully arrive later in the Retaliation line, possibly with an emphasis on "Non-movie" figures to try to court the good graces of the collector fanbase.

Also: A look at Retaliation exclusives. A tiny peek at what might "follow up" Retaliation, and yes, I bet the first FSS subscriptions will be sold at Joe Con. We might even get a sneak-peek at who might be in a second FSS

I hope Hasbro shows up and says that what we think of as Wave 2 of Retaliation is going to be Wave 1 of 2013, with no rerelease of what has already come out, in terms of single cards, except for the extra Joe Troopers and Red Ninjas listed in the case packouts for Wave 2 and beyond.

I don't know how many different ways this can be said: There is not enough time for Hasbro to develop any sort of "gap filling" product unless it was already well into development and production. To try to create a new product line at this juncture would mean that product wouldn't start hitting shelves until the same time Retaliation product is supposed to show back up again.

About the ONLY thing they could do (and there is no indication whatsoever that they plan to) is reshuffle the wave assortment and put out a wave of "non-movie" figures in movie packaging (Crimson Guard, Alley Viper, Night Viper, Black Dragon Ninja, and Cyber-Ninja) and even that's unlikely.

What am I hoping to see?

Wow what a loaded question.

Well honestly not much.

I mean the set back of the film kinda puts a wet blanket on and excitement for upcoming releases for that.

Clearly Hasbro has nothing on deck to release in its place and still at best is scrambling as to what to do if ANYTHING between here and next year.

And even the club...hopefully we might get an update on FSS...but I guess the thing I expect to see most out of the Convention this year is damage control.
