I bought my first Retaliation toy today: The Cobra Fangboat! I actually questioned whether or not I'd buy any of these toys... until I found this. Anyone who loves the old Water Moccasin (and I do) has to buy this!

It's the same basic design we've seen for years, with few additions and a new paint scheme, which reminds me of either the gray from the
"Mass Device" mini-series (when the boat wasn't out and they wern't sure what the color would be), or the old Sears Dreadnok vehicles. These colors are even more "Cobra" than the original!

One of the things that made me cringe a little when I saw the pics of this from Toyfare was the spring loaded missle launcher that replaces one of the cannons. It's still nor something I'm in love with, but the design actually isn't too bad. It looks like it's mounted on a freakin' Gatlin gun, which IMO is kinda cool. It won't take much (other than an extra cannon) to mount a standard cannon in place of the spring loaded launcher.

I didn't snap a picture of the driver. He's just a plce filler, and not exactly a legendary figure. His design is cool enough, but the limited articulation really hurts his cause. Besides, we all know whos is supposed to drive this boat!

Overall, this is a solid addition to the fleet of Water Moccasin/ Sting Ray/ Fangboat. It's a great throwback for the older Joe fans (like me!), and has enough playability to satisfy young fans. I'm so happy Hasbro included it (especially given how hard the 25th version was to find!).
