I agree with some of the complaints leveled at Hasbro here. But you know what? They've done some great things for us collectors too. Here's a few in the last year I’d like to say thanks for:

Thanks for the DG Joes. To create a cheaper alternative line to the movie figures you could have gone in any direction and slapped the Joe logo on it. Kids wouldn't know the difference. Instead, you made some great kitbashes including ARAH and DD renditions. Awesome.

Thanks for the Skystriker. That thing is great. You dug deep and remade a classic after the mold had been lost for the 30th Anniversary. It had no movie or cartoon support, it was especially for older fans who remember the original. Thank you.

Thanks for making the Renegades figures 'Poc-esque' in style versus animated. Without that I wouldn't have purchased any and we might have missed out on things like Renegades Storm Shadow if were sculpted in the cartoon style (like the Amazon 4 packs). I know it was mutually beneficial, but thanks for keeping us in mind with that decision.

Thanks for the Dreadnok/Marauder 7 packs. I don't know the numbers behind it all, but it seems you may have taken a bath on producing these things the last couple of years. Last year the consensus seemed to be it wouldn’t happen at all. But you found a way through BBTS and there a few real gems in there. Again, not for kids (much larger purchasing market) and not the general public (no mass media cartoon or film) - meant for adult collectors. Thanks.

Anybody else have some to add?

They catered far too much to exclusives and convention stuff than for the actual generic collector or mainstream collector fan. When they do decide to release good things to the general public it is often too little and too late, often when the line is going down the drain or the real nice items are rarer and end up selling for loads of cash.

Thanks for almost everything from 2007(25th) until now. The sculpts and figures are incredible. The accessories are well thought out and awesome. You have the best articulation and pretty much are TOP in the industry. You listen to the fans, and there are alot of fans and wants, but you somehow can please most of us. You make exclusives and sometimes once in awhile a hard to get figure. This creates buzz and keeps us all interested and on the hunt. And the sometimes lack of product probablly has to do with retail and the stores, not you.

Thanks for all the incredible gi joe stuff in the past 5 years or so, its why we are all here.

This is my sentiment as well, especially the "until now" point, although you do have to concede that some of the figures from Retaliation ARE amed at collectors and are nice, such as the Joe Trooper, 3-pack "desert" Beachhead, Kamakura, Red Ninja, and others.

Yes a big THANK YOU Hasbro. A lot of POC, 30th, and Rengades fall into the best ever made category. The SkyStriker ( I have 3) are fantastic. Then after disappointing previews of Toy Fair movie figures you whale one out left field with Dollar Store figures!!!
I have 3 complete sets and still buy them all when I see them.
I hope the DG figures continue to develop more of the ARAH, and DD characters.

Thanks Again Hasbro this Bud's for you!

PS The 4" Adventure Team figures are still my favorites!

Ah yes you have covered most of it but I'll just agree. The poc/30th/ renegades figures were just fantastic. To get all those dreadnoks had to be one of the best surprises in a very long time! Just like cobracobra already said about shadow tracker, he is my favorite character/ figure to come out in all the modern style figures! Love him.

The entire creative push for POC was amazing. 45 figures plus was a great number to hit. Waves 5 and 6 were a complete bonus round. A perfect marriage of modern military and GI JOE. Wave 4 of 30th A is also very note worthy. Air tight, Lifeline, Zombie Viper, Law and Order and Sci-Fi. Really out did your selfs there for the fans.

Also I love the blue Ripcord gun and the orange shovel for the Retaliation trooper. Uniquely colored parts are a very welcomed addition to my collection.

And the Retaliation string gimmick toys are way cool even for a guy entering his 30s.

thanks for holding the gi joe movie till next year,
now the rock cant do the next wrestlemania and promote the movie due to timming. So he will have to choose one or the other and I think we all know which path he will take.
At least it means the money i saved this year on seeing the gi joe movie multiple times as planed can be spent on other movies coming out instead. Such as the dictator among others.
Its nice of you hasbro to allow us the oppertunity to spread the wealth to your comeptitors

Not including ARAH... in the grand scheme of things though... weighing all the good and bad decisions regarding the brand in all aspects... Hasbro probably failed more than it succeeded in regards to G.I. Joe.

EDIT: But yah, thanks for 25th, POC and 30th Joes.

I am actually very happy with all those retaliation figures you mentioned. I got quite a few of each of them. It is true though that there are a few "dogs" in the line, but if the line can get children to buy, that would be good.

I’d specifically like to thank the sculptors and designers for making such remarkable improvements and refinements in the sculpting, quality and articulation of these ME figures over the years. The dedication and love those guys must have for this brand, to produce such incredible stuff as we got in the 30th and POC lines, gives me confidence and hope, despite all the headwinds GI Joe is facing as a brand.

Thanks for continuing the 25th line into the ME, ROC, POC and 30th lines. When you guys started, it was only supposed to be 25 figures (or something like that) for the 25th year. Thanks for rekindling that childhood nostalgia for me.

Yes! It was an amazing run; innovative designs to classic characters, excellent articulation, tons of extras, these were more like labors of love then just product. I don't think I have been excited about a line of figures since the Joes were released in the 80's. Thank you for releasing them!

$#!T....They should be thanking us!!! Thanks Joe Collectors for buying everything and making us a moderately successful company and supporting us. Thanks for all the middle age men and women for buying up everything that we produce.

It is like thanking a cow for that really swell hamburger you bought, grilled, smothered in condiments, and ate!

If that is the case, then I will stop on the way home and hug a random cow!

No offense to the OP in any way, shape, or form but I think hugging a hasbro employee is a bit much.

Thanks Hasbro.

Even though they were hard to find at times the POC/30th anniversary lines were very awesome over all. The canceled would have been cool to actually have on toys shelves instead of discount stores like ROSS (which I don't have), but that doesn't mean I didn't like what I saw. I just never did find a scout tank or transforming motorcycle. I was actually looking forward to those. Then your stores didn't distribute anymore.

The thing I most want to thank them for is the 25th anniversary BAT figure. Perhaps the most awesome 3.75" figure of ALL TIME. I still can't get over how perfect this guy is... just genius.

I would just LOVE to see their take on the '92 BAT with an all new sculpt. Pretty please???

I really do think that there are a lot of designers and sculptors at Hasbro that truly go above and beyond for GI Joe. What they want to do doesn't always get past the bean counters (often doesn't these days), but you really can't think of them all as one big faceless organization that doesn't give a crap unless they get your cash.

The Joe line clearly has received a lot of love over the years from these people. And regardless of what other Hasbro lines that are out there selling best at the time, Joe is pretty much always better quality even though it does not sell as well. Just compare Retaliation to Avengers or the new Spider-Man line. Joe far outclasses them in articulation, quality, and design, even with the reductions (which I despise).

Agreed on all points. We may not have as high of a quantity of stuff to buy compared to years past, but the quality is definitely up. For example, compared to 2009, it's not as much product from 2011-12, but we DID get stuff catered to us more.

The 30th anniversary line is rather small but has more wins than losses in my book. The Sky Striker we lucked out on and I am glad we finally got it back.

I really do think that there are a lot of designers and sculptors at Hasbro that truly go above and beyond for GI Joe. Truth is, the design team is usually comprised of fans, but they are limited by budget. Now Hasbro corporate, is a completely different animal. What someone like Depriest or Archer might think will perform well at retail might not be what some higher up above them might think will sell. Depriest and Archer were designers at some point and moved up at Hasbro and were fans going in, so they have an idea with what will resonate with us, same goes for the design team.

Finally a positive for Hasbro... I agree we Joe fans get the boot sometimes when compared to TF but.. I too remember hearing there will be NO SKY STRIKER now they are out and for the most part shelf warming now... same with the 7 packs we were told Noks was most likely a no, and now we have them.... POC and Renegades line was AWESOME and even blew many of the 25th figures out of the water. I can only thank you for not giving these greatness of articulation to Star Wars or else I would be F^$%ED!

Thanks Hasbro... the Joe division has some of the best talent yet gets hosed on marketing and distribution and we as consumers get screwed...can I mention ROC Kamakura, Best of 80s, POC Cycle Armor, Black Hiss tank etc.....
