So my retaliation wave 2 roadblock came today and i thought id put up a few pics and make some comments. Please don't mind the pics to much. I'm no photographer and these were with my i phone. The figure is really nice all around. Has all the articulation including double knee joints, and rocker ankles. I received a few accessories but not sure if these all belong with him and im sure im missing quite a few. His vest is awesome looking and holds 2 knives in the front. The holsters on his legs are a bit big but these hold some kind of guns that connect with this other hand piece. Only got one hand thingy. Im guessing you'll get two. The head sculpt looks even more like dwayne and is really nice. Very solid figure that i will be looking foward to picking up when it comes out next year.

i would been hella happy if wave 1 just had the better anke articulation. the parts swap with the 3 pack makes him near perfect.
im just not a fan of this wave 2 design/color, even if it is "movie accurate"... kinda like wave 2 snake eyes.

I was really looking forward to this one. Guess I'll continue looking forward to it for another 8 or 9 months. lol
The tattoo damn near ruins the figure for me though. Unless the movie does a kick-ass sell job of Roadblock being a ninja, I'm not loving the idea. AT. ALL.

It should no problem. Also, if there is a story reason then I have no. Problem with the tat. This obviously is not the RAH version of Roadblock so if it makes sense then I have no problem with it. If it is lame then the tat comes off.

I added a few pics to the first post. Messing around with the accessories i got and its pretty cool really. The main little knuckle thing attaches to his vest(should have two because there are to spots). These knuckles then attach to the gun thing and the knife. Have no idea what the pole thingy is. The back slot on his vest defintely looks like it holds a sword. I put the pole in there for now. I also put the vest on the wave one version just for fun.

Alright. So first things first...he has two working hands. That right there is enough to put him above the previous version. Articulation is to the max. Rocker ankles, double knees, ball wrists and all the standard Joe articulation.
The sculpt is fantastic. The head is spot on, and better looking than W1. The arms are a bit too veiny for my taste...but eh. The vest is nice, and has a lot of detail that could be brought out with a decent wash. The big ass holsters on his hips kinda kill it though. With them, though, you can fit everything he came with (which I'm sure isn't complete) on him. The battle kata parts, while a cool concept, look big and clunky. I thought the M2 was a new sculpt at first...but looks like I was wrong.
Over all, I like him much better than the W1 version. I will probably buy a single carded one next year, just so I can have a complete version of him.

Custom Leatherneck anyone?
Question:
Are his arms cast in that color, or is it paint? Reason I'm asking is I'd like to be able to remove that Arashikage tattoo when I eventually get this figure. Having the arms cast in that color would make it worlds easier...

What hurts the wave 1 to me is the missing arm and shoulder tattoo. Plus, it's a little too tall and on the thin side. At least this version covers it and is pretty movie accurate.

I dunno, I think the build being just on the slight side allows you to gear him up and not end up looking too bulky.
At least those were the results when I was done with him.

ok so looking at these pics I understand that he's A. meant to have two of those pistol grip things (one for each holster ) and B his dagger gun and proddy thing all fit in the armor and clip onto the gun handle to make the different weapons.
wow its interesting i give ya that but the only reason those holsters are so large is cuz of the pistol part ? why not just give us a slim-line pistol like SE

Proportions seem better than the wave 1 version. Looks like a decent fig and I'll likely buy it when it's available in stores.
Someone with him in hand can confirm, but based on previous figures and holster construction there may be no need to cut them off. Holsters on the thigh like that are usually held in by the same screw that holds the leg together. You may even be able to replace them with another figure's holsters, knife sheath, etc.

I like this Roadblock about a hundred times better than the crummy wave 1 figure I wouldn't even buy (even after my bitching about NEVER finding anything in actual stores)...gonna scrape that tattoo off his arm, roadblock ain't a ninja in any of the continuity that made me like the character...don't see the need or reasoning for them to make his big-ass a ninja...

Hey, someone who has the Wave 1 and Wave 2 Roadblock, would you be willing to swap lower arms? I want to see how the Wave 2 one looks with the Wave 1 ones. I love the Wave 2 but can't stand the ninja logo and would buy a Wave 1 Roadblock for the eventual switch if the arms are interchangeable and still looks good.

As a matter of fact, it's been a long time since the holsters where also the screw held.
This was the case with 25th Duke and 25th Gung-Ho, for example, and lots of people complained cos the holster had to be hard plastic to hold the screw.
It was changes from the to rubbery glued holsters, like PoC ones.
I doubt they went back to hard plastic (but Retaliation toys have proven to be a surprise...for bad, mostly)
Basically: if it's a soft plastic holster, just dip the leg on hot water, and pull the holster to peel it off ;)

I think since the movie companies took time to make their movie "better" hasbro should have a little respect for their products and costumers and make their toys a little better over the next year...like articulate them to industry standards. If not...I think they could mold a few different heads and random things like web gear and legs or something to mix with existing parts and put out an entire wave of 30th Ann figures while this stuff collects dust in their warehouses..who's with me on this? I think I'm being very reasonable and logical from a marketing standpoint.

it would be nice but its been explained a dozen times that the process of creating new figures (even just recycling parts) and packaging would take to long to release anything "new" before it would be time to launch the Retaliation toyline again

I don't think they just "popped out" the DG figures. I do think Hasbro kept it under wraps really well, though. The packaging says 2011 IIRC, so I'm guessing the production started a while back, not just a few weeks ago.

Pretty cool. i dont like the bluky holsters i donīt imagine him in my future Ninja combat Cruisher. I still like the dojo set one that also came with a nowadays kamakura and a full loaded beachhead that can carry many weapons and yes heīs grey, but who cares if firefly is going to be green?. Weīll see. the Roadblock Dojo is fully camuflated thatīs an improvement plus The Rock doesnt need fully articulation on his legs, he could manage well.

For everyone who isn't happy with wave 2 Roadblock, just get the "ultimate" version, which is the same look just more accurate (plus with the Rock's tattoo). Me, I'll get both, just not sure I'm in a rush for this now inferior version. Though it will make a great base for a 30th Roadblock I think.
