Dollar General Wave 2--WANTS...

Okay, so with wave 1 out what would you like to see in wave 2?

Remember these are just repaints....






Two I'd like to see is

Leatherneck (ARAH colors) and
Falcon (from Marauder pack repainted in ARAH traditional colors)

Hmm since this is a dream that probably will not come to pass I would like Hasbro to take pieces and parts from all the Joe figures they made and make some figures that have not been brought to the 30th anniversary like Cross Country, Frostbite, Iceberg, Fast Draw, Sneak Peek, KEEL HAUL!!!!

This. I would love Cross Country, Iceberg, Spearhead, and Muskrat and I think all of those could be done with existing parts.

Yes there is another wave of these same figures but repainted, for example, SS is painted to match Ninja Force TGin-Zu and SE is painted like he was in the Heavy Artillary 6 pack and so on.

I work in association with a comics store as the vintage "Joe" expert, lol. There is a friend of mine there who buys/sells as a Hasbro direct purchaser. 2 stores down is a Dollar General where he attempted to purchase 1500 units direct from the DG manager, however, DG is sold out storewide (nationally) as well as the additional stores similar to DG which carried them.

As an extra tidbit, there is no plan-o-gram for the Joes and apparently DG has one for every peg and shelf in the store.

Certainly seems to fit the pattern of how these things are being found. I dunno about that "additional stores", however.

Yes this is a brand new wave... BUT be sure to add variants in your wave if u want

That doesn't really make a lot of sense, since plenty of individuals have been able to talk to managers and have set up agreements to get steady flows of cases held for them.

It might in the sense that a lot of stores haven't gotten any at all. I have roughly 7 to 9 stores within a 70 mile radius and none of those stores has gotten these figures. So that's 9 cases that can go elsewhere. If distribution did this to a lot of areas some places would have a lot of supply and others would have none explaining that number.

I would think that a big area like the Twin Cities would get them. Then again, like I said we only have 4 DGs up here in Minnesota total. I would think that there would be more of them....TCs have some fairly ghetto areas, and, well, those are pretty ghetto stores, to be honest.

I'd think a big area like this would have had something by now. But NONE of us MN Tankers have found these yet. At least, not that anyone has admitted if they have found them...

I'm more than likely in a "one case/store" area.

Both the local stores got a set, then the little town near by got a set. I imagine the neighboring larger town had stores that at least got one case, maybe more.

I would very much like to see the 2nd set of these guys. The grey Duke and green Shipwreck looked pretty cool. Lots of good possibilities for customs with those too.

Sure they "made" them, but it doesn't make much difference if you can't find them at all...

A basic Destro and Baroness would be cool as well as Scarlett ninja force colors (my daughter loved that figure and later she was Diz from starship troopers for my son).Rock/Roadblock retaliation wave 1 would work also.Let the figures peg warm so kids can see and want them.Could we hope that they keep restocking this basic wave adding only a few other figures for a good while,not just enough for 2 or 3 days/weeks/months if you can find them at all.

Absolutely agree with these as wants, but I'm not sure whether the DG figures can accommodate camo apps.

Just use the black CC and some python patrol CG heads and you got one already lol...I have 5 new ones freshly painted with silver accents now..went with a regular CG head for mine as I like my Python Patrols just the way they are..

I would like to see them put the last five pack Baroness out again. I passed on that set when it was originally out since she was the only figure I really wanted, and I've been kicking myself ever since.

I agree with the Falcon requests. I like the recipe Raw Dog had in the other thread basically using the Club's Footloose body with Renegades head.

I'd be happy to see some more Tiger Force guys. It would make sense to put out a new Roadblock around the same time as the movie.

Wave 2... I'm still hunting for Wave 1... the Dollar General by me is dry to the bone with toys. was really hoping to snag at least 1 of each of these but I really wanted about 5 each of the Cobra Trooper and Green Shirt Duke

Given Hasbro's tendancies, I don't think a "wave 2" will ever actually appear.

What will happen is that this batch is shipped for a couple years, and they switch out some of the characters for new cheapies.

I could see a new batch in 2014 featuring the same Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow and Cobra Trooper with the rest of the batch filled out with Roadblock, Beachhead and Firefly.
And none will end up as impressive as their prior figures due to the cost concerns.

My part of PA has no DG Joes and no one I talk to at DG knows what I'm talking about when I ask when they're coming in. I was told that I should focus my attention on the bigger DG stores, as they're the most likely to have any limited run products. I called the biggest local DG this past Monday and was told they get new inventory in on Fridays or Saturdays, so you can guess where I'll be Friday... or Saturday morning.

Same basic list as last time:

Destro: inspired by the red shirt/mission disc version that was supposed to happen in the Spy Troops era (he was wearing a red shirt on the file card image), basically using the same formula as Discount Store Shipwreck, with a Destro head.

Viper: POC/30th formula but with POC Lowlight arms (kinda making it a VvV Viper homage). Sonic Fighter Viper colors at some point.

General Hawk: 25th Hawk with different arms (maybe Lifeline?). One version in a green jacket would be nice.
