GI Joe Master Chief

Finally dipped my hands into the GI Joe custom cookie jar but with a non Joe character. I always wanted to make a GI Joe scale Master Chief and have waited until the Retaliation Joe trooper was released to use the helm due to it looking like Chiefs so much. I resculpted his chest section to better match the chiefs look.

Chief is made from:

Head - Retaliation Joe trooper Helm

Body - Accelerator Suit Duke

The shins are random parts from a Warhammer model and all weapons are from various figures.

I have a headless Accelerator Suit Duke sitting on my 'pending' shelf. He has been waiting for me to find a Retaliation Joe Trooper for this very same reason. I dug the Accelerator Suit enough to want to include one in my collection, but I want to make it a unique character (by that, I mean not an existing Joe). This is almost exactly what I was planning. Glad to see the head fits properly! Very nice job!

This is a figure I am sure many fans want, including myself. As such, we have high hopes for such a toy...and your custom does NOT disappoint.

The GI JOE articulation really compliments this custom well. The poses are neat, and it just really fits in with the GI JOE line. (And the Marvel Universe line too).

Now, if we can only convince Hasbro (and McFarlane toys) to work together to bring us something of this magnitude...

Very good. like the painting you've done. What paints do you use, may I ask?

I use a mix of paints. Chief here has Krylon Ultra Flat Camo Base, With various mixes of Vallejo, Ciadel, and Testors in there. I believe I made a custom blend for his green that is part Testors Russian Army Green, Rustic Brown, and Tamiya Silver.
