Which figures(repaint, rerelease, kitbash/frankenjoe ONLY!, NO ALL NEW TOOLING!) would you want to see in an INTERNET EXCLUSIVE GI JOE WAVE?

There have been some figures which were hard to obtain, or packed with vehicles which were subsequently canceled, like Desert Scorpion and Alpine. Let's say that Hasbro proposed an internet exclusive wave of GI Joe figures, BUT, with the following:
Generic cards(NO character specific card-art, think Dollar General basic Joes)
NO ALL NEW TOOLING
Stand
POC level/amount of weapons/accessories
Figures with new paint apps, and/or straight up repaints are fair game. Kitbash/frankenjoes are too. The above limitations are to cut costs and decrease time spent on development/mold locating, et al.

Now, if a figure you list is something you want frankenjoe'd/kitbashed, list the character's name and the the parts you'd want to see used on it. Also list which weapons/accessories you'd want the figure to come with.

A modern update of the 2003 TRU Python Patrol pack (Major Bludd and a bunch of Vipers- but with the addition of the PP Croc Master we never got).

There were a lot of other great VvV-era packs I'd love to see revisited as well. Lotsa possibilities with inventive kitbashing and repainting...

Zarana ('04 deco) - Straight repaint of the SDCC figure just like the '04 was based on the original '86 figure. Gets more Zarana out there, it's a internet exclusive so they can't bitch that mass B&M retail won't want a female figure, and covers the needs of a 'nok badguy for variety.

Headman - Whether it's RoC Destro torso and CC pant legs with the Indy Fedora or using the Ren CC body with Indy Fedora, it needs to be done. Give him a briefcase of cash from PoC Wave 4 Destro and a gun. Also a second head that can stand in for a Headhunter head. The RenCC head is very similar to the Headhunter head (minus the hat, of course.)

B.A.T. ('10 Headhunter or '03 Translucent Inferno) - We'll probably never get a redesigned BAT body for the v2 ('91) version, so lets have some fun with the first one. BATs are insanely popular so a silver Headhunter model or just a straight translucent red Inferno BAT would be a big hit and add some variety.

Steel Brigade Delta - Redeco of the VAMP driver figure.

Pursuit of Cobra Grunt - Something as simple as repainting PoC Hawk with a different head would work.

You guys really have thought about this haven't you? I totally agree with every figure mentioned thus far. Seriously if Hasbro did these easy kitbashes/repaints I guarantee you I would buy every single one and most definitely multiples of the troop builders. They have enough pre-existing molds now to make 100's of these and keep them looking fresh and new enough and it would definitely keep a lot of us collectors spending tons of money on their product with minimal effort on their part.

Take all of the 25th style box exclusives that were never released as single card figures, even show exclusives, and repaint them for single card release. You could have a new line every 6 months with that amount of figures. Sell them on hts. Pre-order them if you have to so they don't sell out in a day.

Great idea, I would love to see something like this come to mind. here are some of my ideas:
1. Cobra Officer classic style and colors, using the current POC/30th Cobra Trooper parts.
2. Viper Pilot, same idea as above
3. Stinger Driver, again same as the above two
4. Flint Renegades style; Resolute head on the body from the Dollar Store shipwreck, with proper colors and weapons
5. Gung-Ho Modern, use the body from the Resolute RB, modified head from the POC Recondo, web-gear from the POC Spirit. He woud need a new gunney hat.
6. Outback, use the torso and arms from the Renegades Duke figure, the legs from the POC SE figure, and the head sculpt from the 25th figure. The 25th classic web-gear works, as do the accessories.
7. Firefly, use the entire body from the POC SE figure, the head from the ROC TRU figure, classic dark grey camo pattern, I would like the web-gear to be a cross between the classic style and the 25th comic pack figure. The weapons and gear from the 25th comic pack are perfect. This could rock!
8. Major Bludd, I don't really have a clue what parts would work the best, the only thing that would be required is a new head sculpt.
9. Beach Head classic style. The Retaliation figure repainted in classic colors with the classic HOH web-gear and weapons
10. Billy, yeah Billy; 30th Storm Shadow body and accessories with a new head sculpt.
That would pretty much round out my top 10 of easy repaints and and franken-figures. There are others I want but that would require too much new tooling.

So, I assume that the Club Dialtone/Footloose/Claymore heads are excluded from this? That would be a shame, but I'll just keep those (along with Sgt. Slaughter due to the licensing issues) out. SDCC Jinx and Kwinn are also off limits, since we hope they're still on their way. Data Viper...they say with his gear he was too big for a standard package, so he's off the list, too. I'll also exclude all of the fabled GIJCC "Subscription" figures, because who knows, those might actually happen some day.

This is some of what I posted in the "What if there was a Hall of Heroes II?" thread a few days ago about this...there's tons of options, but I'll keep it short:

-25th Alpine, straight release (or maybe a few more accessories that would fit his MO). So many missed out on him, he needs to be re-released.

-25th Quick Kick (DVD pack)- Like Alpine, many missed out on him due to the weird distribution of the DVD packs. Maybe throw in some more martial arts weapons.

-25th Dusty (DVD pack)- see above. Give him an extra handgun and rifle, and maybe that roll of barbwire.

- Desert Scorpion- the cancelled one that was to come with the wave 2 Mech. Keep the Mech, but I'd like a few of these guys.

-Cobra Officer- the POC/30th Cobra Trooper, but with silver Cobra symbol. Give him several rifles, handguns, etc.

- Tele-Viper- The 25th head with different lower legs, not sure who's...and some short-sleeved arms, I think the ones from Flint would work. Also not sure if the backpack and monitor/gun thing is a possibility, but at least throw some tech-y looking accessories in there. The ROC laptop would be a good start.

- A more dignified Dr. Mindbender- Mindbender head on the white coated ROC Doctor body...with the hypo-gun, radio thing, Mindbender's probe, and a pistol.

At the least, they could just do repacks of POC/30th figures that had horrible distribution- Lowlight, Money Bags Destro, Crazy Legs, Rock Viper, Gen. Hawk, Shadow Tracker, Wave 3 Ultimate SE, Snow Job, Recondo, Renegades Storm Shadow...they'd sell, I'm sure.

Can't ever do a Sgt Slaughter as Mattel has licensing rights to him.. There was a short time that lapsed where they needed to renew the rights and that is how hasbro was able to slide in and make the SDCC Slaughters.. Even if that is not true Mattel still has the rights to Slaughter that much is true so no go on him ever again..

Why Alpine? 25th already exists. We need that POC version!! Id be pissed to see figures repeated just because people didn't buy them when they came out. Claymore I would be beyond pissed to see him on a shelf.
Why would I want to see Alpine or Claymore on 30th cards.
It should be figures that never made it out. Also I am not sure why this has been front paged... I feel these "topics" are made over and over again. The worst part is Hasbro will see this and think they can start recirculating figures if they are deemed rare by a post on the internet. : ( It happened in Star Wars and now you cannot sell a Storm trooper for more than .50 cents.
Which brings me to my last point. Pre-order from the internet or buy the figures when they are on the shelves don't wait.

Think it would do to Hasbro making a "Slaughter" look a like which would open them up to lawsuits from Slaughter and Mattel. Because Slaughter signed with Mattel for likeness rights they would want to go after Hasbro. The only way around that is Slaughter would have to have a totally different head and that would piss everyone off.. It's a lose lose situation..

Does the beret from the Sgt. Slaughter's Marauders Falcon fit onto 25th Anniversary Airborne's head? That head painted with a mustache and topped with Falcon's beret would make a good Dial Tone head.

Hasbro does have the mold to his gun at least. I could live without the backpack just to have the character.

I think a V5 of Dr. Mindbender could easily be made out of 25th anniversary Mindbender head, V32 Storm Shadow torso & arms & V3 Gen. Hawk Abernathy legs (the one that came with the ROC Pit). Throw in some black gloved hands & you have a masterpiece. Plus, it would keep me from looking for these figures myself just so I can kitbash them.

First up is a solicitation for Masterpiece 12 Lambor. The solicitation images reveals that this figure will be officially licensed by Lamborghini.

With Sarge likeness, actually I think WWE owns the rights to that wrestler/actor's likeness as Sgt. Slaughter, and Mattel has the rights to that currently. Now, maybe if Hasbro paints the hair a different color, and uses a slightly different body, they *might* be able to skirt the issue but I am not completely sure. To better illustrate this example, Hasbro can make a figure of Roadblock using The Rock's license, but can't make a figure of The Rock in WWE attire. Since Slaughter in the cartoon looked like he did in WWF, that may be the reason why we haven't seen Slaughter released since SDCC.

I wish they would just release a wave consisting of Shadow Tracker, Shock Troopers, and Renegades Storm Shadow. A Baroness using Rise of Cobra parts but with a different head would be cool. A Cobra Commander with a chrome paint faceplate would be nice too. I know they had one in a DVD pack but I never got ahold of one.

Oh, and I'd also like a version of the Roadblock as he appears in G.I. Joe the movie with sculpted sleeves. That's the only reason I didnt pick that one up. The painted on sleeves just looked fucking horrible on that figure.

...based on the comics with character repaints and adjustments to look as good as the cover art or story pages.

Each pack would include one Transformer and a G.I. Joe or Cobra counterpart, for example Megatron & Cobra Comander pack.

There can be a Battle pack too! Snake Eyes and Stormshadow with two other Transformers.

This would be epic aside from a "Operation Desert Storm set" with the 1982-84 Joes in Desert Gear ready to go!

Been watching sigma six recently on the hub and really was thinking about 3.75 sigma six run. Would go great with my roc rhino. Plus i think tjey would go well with the renegades and resolute lines. Surely hasbro doesnt need to retool or create anything they could piece this together.

The very nature of collecting involves exclusives and variants. I actually like the hunt and opportunity to get exclusive figures. I enjoy the conventions and like to have something special to remember them by.

Which figures(repaint, rerelease, kitbash/frankenjoe ONLY!, NO ALL NEW TOOLING!) would you want to see in an INTERNET EXCLUSIVE GI JOE WAVE?

There have been some figures which were hard to obtain, or packed with vehicles which were subsequently canceled, like Desert Scorpion and Alpine. Let's say that Hasbro proposed an internet exclusive wave of GI Joe figures, BUT, with the following:
Generic cards(NO character specific card-art, think Dollar General basic Joes)
NO ALL NEW TOOLING
Stand
POC level/amount of weapons/accessories
Figures with new paint apps, and/or straight up repaints are fair game. Kitbash/frankenjoes are too. The above limitations are to cut costs and decrease time spent on development/mold locating, et al.

Now, if a figure you list is something you want frankenjoe'd/kitbashed, list the character's name and the the parts you'd want to see used on it. Also list which weapons/accessories you'd want the figure to come with.

Well I've been on the Original 13 Collector Set wish list for awhile now so I actually have two ideas for those.

Modern Style Set:
Uses mainly Reactive Impact Armor Bodies.
FLASH & Grand Slam= Sky Dive Body with 30th Sci-Fi Legs and Gun, maybe the accelerator suit helmet. Grand Slam would come with the Sky Dive Jet back too. Double Jointed Wrists.

Stalker = Impact Armor Body, POC snake eyes Legs with the holster & Resolute Head, lower arms would have the double jointed wrists.

Snake Eyes = Impact Armor Body, POC Snake Eyes Legs and Head, ROC Timber with movable head. Double jointed wrists.

Rock N Roll = Heavy Duty ROC Impact Armor Torso, upper arms and Legs, with Retaliation Rock Lower arms with double jointed wrists, head could be one of the outback heads. Would come with back pack ammo and two machine guns with ammo streams.

ZAP = Impact Armor Torso, POC Snake Eyes legs with Holsters, Double Jointed Wrists. Come with Bazookas weapons and back pack.

Breaker = Impact Armor Torso, POC Snake Eyes legs with Holsters, Double jointed wrists, POC Recondo Backpack. With laptop and helmet with mic.

Scarlett = Impact Armor Scarlett Torso, with Helix Legs, Double Jointed Wrists, Pony Tail head of some kind.

Hawk = Impact Armor Torso, POC Snake Eyes legs with holsters, double jointed wrists, POC Duke Head with scar, might come with the Scrap Iron missile launchers.

Short Fuze = Impact Armor Torso, POC Snake Eyes Legs with Holsters, Double jointed wrists, maybe the resolute rocket launcher.

Clutch = Impact Armor Torso, POC Snake Eyes Legs with Holsters, Double Jointed Wrists, clutches Vest tooled to fit,

Grunt = POC Recondo Torso, POC Snake Eyes legs with Holsters, Retaliation Rock Lower arms with double jointed wrists, ROC Flack Jacket Vest.

Steeler = Impact Armor Torso, POC Snake Eyes Legs with Holsters, Double Jointed Wrists, Some kind of Vest and the helmet with the scope from

All would be painted to original 13 colors and have appropriate head choices - helmets could be POC Dusty on most of them.

I'm thinking it would be cool if they also repainted the Rhino in Green Colors maybe do away with the helicopter and added a jet pack launch pad or the Mobat Cannon to the top.

I'm not a fan of things being "too exclusive". Just takes the fun out of collecting when a popular character becomes so hard to get that only a few collectors will get it while other collectors are left with holes in their collection.

The Dollar General exclusives aren't bad because while characters like Shipwreck are popular enough that collectors will look for the figure it's not going to hurt a collection if you can't find the Dollar General Shipwreck.

Having to go to Comic Con or camp Hasbro Toy Shop in the hopes of it being the only way to get the character isn't fun at all. I can understand why places like the club want desirable characters but the exclusive should be an exclusive color not a feeling like the characters are becoming exclusive.

i think the point was he is asking about INTERNET EXCLUSIVES. probably because he understands these types of figures wont be supported for sale at regular retail but might be a possibility as internet exclusives where we can order them ONLINE.

i love the idea, especially if it doesnt involve a subscription where they force you to buy figures you dont want to get the figures you do want.
