Right, so as of yesterday I've started work on a little custom project that... frankly really doesn't have a name yet.

I'm thinking some stubble/five-o'clock shadow might really give him some more personality, problem is, I've never seen a guide to painting and have no idea where to start.
Suggestions?

When I do stubble or five-o-clock shadow I will take a small pin and poke holes on the face where I plan to paint. I'll paint over the holes, and then wipe it away with a cloth. the paint is removed from the face except for where it was poked with the pin.

I use use citadel's inks. They dry more transparently than paint so they 5 o'clock shadow works really well.

I paint the face then use a dark gray for the sadow area. Go back over it with in same flesh color just watered down.
Works well.
I do have to say the pinhole idea is interesting. It would add a little texture. Gotta try it.

Had an idea, but havn't tried it out yet. (based on a shop project I did in jr high)
Paint the area with a clear glue, dip the head into a pile of loose velvet (Hair colored of course) He should have a fuzy beard/hair, similar to the 12" AT.
