Lionsgate wants an Expendables TV series! Hasbro are you taking some notes? I have always felt they should have a live action TV series for G.I.Joe! It's the only way to cover all the Joe and Cobra characters and do them justice in my opinion....

Yep, honestly I think it's possible to do a tv show with the kid-friendly feel of the Avengers. I honestly think it would be the only possible way that G.I.Joe could ever be put back on the map.

As a cartoon it could work, as a live action series probably not.

ndb I agree with everything you said. Kid friendly and taking cues from The Avengers would be the way to go!
VideoViper why don't you like the idea of a live action TV show? I think it's time to think outside of the box for the G.I.Joe franchise. Because cartoons for it aren't going anywhere..

take the same model and apply it to joe. Every huge action star in history and make em all joes! talk about a sucess and toys would through the roof!
Stalone= FLINT
chuck norris= Rock n Roll
Jet Li=Ouick Kick
Statham=Zartan
Eric Roberts=Cobra Commander

They covered all (or at least most of) the Joe and Cobra characters and did them justice in cartoon form back in the 80's.
G.I. Joe is not the Expendables.
G.I. Joe is not some generic military action franchise.
G.I. Joe in live action would be about as cheesy as those commercials we got in the early 90's. Or as cheesy as RoC...take your pick. Cheese is a part of G.I. Joe and always has been.
You can't really be "family friendly like the Avengers" when all your characters are carrying around guns that shoot bullets (vs. lasers or whatnot) and fighting against human opponents (vs robots or aliens or "bio-vipers" or whatnot).

Cool, I hope Lionsgate gets what they want. I'd love for there to be an Expendables tv show. I would also like to see Hasbro make a 3.75" Expendables action figure line of both the movie and the tv show. That would be sweet IMO.

Using Jingle All The Way as part of ANY argument is automatic failure. Didn't you know? And, Jingle All the Way never existed as far as I'm concerned.

Good grief, the first movie was terrible, the second one it can't be better, so a tv series could be a torture!
A dumb movie, dumbed down to be "audience friendly"? Like Stallone and Lundgren wheren't dumb enough ffs!

The Expendables are mercs... Not sure why people leap on pretty much anything even remotely military and say "Yay, GI Joe should be done like this!"

In this day and age it seems like just the thing that will be popular enough to annoy the crap out of Joe fans.

I am not arguing as that would mean I need to prove I am right. I have no need I KNOW I AM RIGHT. this is a brand on life support vs an idea that made good money and will make more money.
STAR POWER is never a bad idea. and if any of you tankers think so well your wrong plain and simple. many action stars have made movies for familes.
would you like another BAD example......
remember a bloody movie called desperado??? the same guy who directed that made a movei called SPY KIDS! with the same knife throwing guy.
if hasbro would have followed the plan of expendables it would be a hit plain and simple. if you disagree your wrong and live w it.

Argument fail.
Jingle All the Way was hardly a family-friendly MILITARY ACTION film.

True.
Considering how much ninja the Joes become, i still don't understand why it's considered a military movie.
Somebody please call Jackie Chan!

Actually, if it "followed the plan of Expendables" it would have made about $50 million dollars LESS in the United States, and about $25 million dollars less overall, and would have likely not received a sequel.

For Expendables, none of these guys would sign onto a TV show. So it won't happen as live action.
For GI Joe, it would be hugely expensive to produce, with limited locations & very few vehicles. With cartoons they can go anywhere, do anything, at anytime.

If STAR POWER is your point then it will pain you to learn that an Expendables TV series will not have the very stars that made it a success. Did you even read the article?

Dumbness. That is to say, they put a lot of dumb $h!t on TV, so why can't Joe have a place on TV? It's not nearly as crappy as some of the crap on TV these days.

Expendables is a pretty awesome movie, and I eagerly look forward to Expendables 2, so an Expendables tv show sounds like it would be wicked awesome. Kind of like the A-Team, which I own on DVD and think is pretty bad-ass!
