Firebat: Mail Away vs Retail

Hi all. just nabbed what I THINK is a M/A Firebat. evidence on the eBay sale pointed that way. I just got it, and i almost thought nah, it's the retail FB, but when i compared it to my parts FB, it IS a shade lighter. So for those of you that know, how MUCH different is the shade of red between the two?

Here is a side by side. I had these 2 since they came out. I think the M/A darker one is harder to find.

the one on the right is the M/A.

There are 2 different mail away fire bats. One is very close to the one that came with the Terror Drome. One is Bright red with a clear windshield.

If by right you mean your facing the camera than yes. But, if your looking at the picture the one to the left of the photo.

here's my two, my parts Bat on the left, the one i just got on the right that i suspect is the M/A, they are def different shades, but not by much

My mistake. the one on left looking at my pic is the M/A the lighter red.

If by right you mean your facing the camera than yes. But, if your looking at the picture the one to the left of the photo.

Spider: that link very much helped. thx! it also gave me a nudge on the diff's on the motor and strato vipers.
Snow Cat: yes now we're trackin'. looks like mine is the 'faded' Maroon M/A like yours. I also got the china AVAC and a C para.

Well, I have only 2 retail Firebats and they are molded in very dark red.. I have 5 mail-away Firebats and they are all molded in very light red (the one shown on the far right of this picture) The other ones I have are all 25th ann. version..

I still need to buy a bright red Firebat someday. I almost bought one on gijoehq.com about 5 years ago and regret it now.

A black one was available in the 2010 CanJoeCon set but it was only a spray painted 25th Firebat so it doesn't count IMO..

Yes Sir.. I bought them in '93 if I remember well.. at 7.50$ a piece it was tough to say no..
