I received my first Retaliation figure today, a red ninja. But when I placed him next to my other figures he is huge, is this normal for other Retaliation figures as well?

I haven't opened up all of mine yet & set them side by side with the rest of my figures but I think you may be right. They do seem slightly taller.

I haven't noticed, but will check when I get home. Can you post comparison pics?

The rock from the 3 pack is a monster in size. Probably the single pack version to but can't state it for a fact bacause I didn't buy ol gimp hand.

Yeah, but I think the Rock is supposed to be huger than the others because he's like buff and stuff.

I went to target yesterday and looked at a few of them. They do look like they are larger.

I've noticed that the Joe trooper was about a half a head taller than the POC fig I stood next to. I like the slight differences.

Renegades SS is off scale as well so it's logical that the repainted/kit-bash is too.

The rock (yep the 'hand' version) is tall but he doesn't stand out to much it's kinda like Resolute Roadblock, canceled JP and Night Adder. In my opinion Heavy Duty is much more of an off scale monstrosity. Maybe because he looks overweight instead of just buff and his jacket doesn't help either.

I've noticed the trend has been for Joes to get larger and larger. A lot of the 30th anniversary figures are a full head taller then the 25th anniversary figures. Sci Fi was the one I noticed it the most on.

Maybe they're on the juice. Steroids.

Don't you just wished they made modern Joes as tall as vintage Joes so that an ME and vintage Joe wouldn't look "mismatched"

Me too! It adds to the realism/effect. Like every single person in the Joe universe would be EXACTLY the same height. The 7-pack Road Pig comes to mind. He's HUGE...as he should be.

I wish they'd do stuff like that more often - and for weight too. Hahaha, I wanna see some fat Joes and Cobra Troopers - like that custom that dude made recently.

Yes for me so that they would also be 100% compatible with vintage Joe playsets.

That would be cool...

I've come to really dislike the vintage figs over the years and I think they're just too small.
I'm weird that way, because I loved the JvC, Spy-Troops and V vs V figures. Those had some great designs!! Turtleneck Destro for one was one of my faves as well as Black-Out and so on.

I actually got the Red Ninjas for my MU figures to duke it out with as they are more in scale with that line. Rock is as tall as the tallest MU figure which is about 4.5 inches.

So if 4" = 6', then 4.5" = 6' 9"?

They seem to be taller but not wider as well, so they are just too thin-looking. It's been happening in a subtle way for a while now, but with Retaliation it has gotten blatantly noticeable.

Not a great pic, but here's RB next to the closest O-ringer I could find.

Interesting. How does Red Ninja measure up to other figures? I'm stuck at work till 7. When I get home I am going to compare him to some other guys.

Thanks CT.

It seems like Hasbro is slowly going to make Joes 6" figures.
Backwards compatibility has completely been ignored or avoided.

Almost every SE fig in the 25th line is short compared to other figures. 25th Scarlett & Duke are taller than the Commando 25th SE/Stalker mold and the Hardmaster/DG SE mold is short too.

Same with the 25th Storm Shadow mold, but I think SS is short any way at least in the Marvel run comic's. POC wave 3 SE is the first tall version of SE, that I can recall.

Who is the shortest 25th/ME figure?

Not sure who's THE shortest, but I have the RoC Sandstorm and he is tiny.

I don't consider that a fail. Night Adder is simply a giant, just as Sandstorm and Shipwreck (same body) are midgets.

However, I don't think Hasbro did it because some characters are shorter and taller. Some 25th are 3 3/4 scale but now they're heading to 4 1/2 scale.

Yeah, the figures are to scale. Some dudes are shorter than others and vice versa, just like in real life. Roadblock is pretty tall too. Bazooka's kind of fat as well. Variety is the spice of life, lol.

Damn! I guess I never realized there was that much variation in height.

So it's like Sandstorm is a 5'6 dude, and Night Adder is a 6' 6" towering badass. I can dig that.

Raw Dog

To be honest, I never really noticed that the heights were that different either, except that RB was taller, and TR is shorter.

Seriously though, I hadn't noticed till now - probably because I used then crazy foot articulation to pose it all ninja-like right away.

The knees and lower legs are different. I think the forearms arw dofferent. With that said, i think they are the same height.

The Red Ninja and Cobra Trooper from Retaliation are tall but still a bit shorter than the Bat.
