I am sure I am missing some and there may be some mistakes as this list was quickly put together to pass time, but wanted to see all of the replacement team characters (based on military specialty and featured in either the Comic or Cartoon) characters from 1982 - 1987. What do you think? Who are others? What is wrong on the list? Let us all know.

As for Dial Tone and Mainframe they were released the sane year. Plus DT is communications whereas MF is computers.

I was also going to say Downtown for SF. What about Beachhead for Stalker? Both are rangers and both held field-leader duties. Oh and Charbroil for Blowtorch

I'd say Flint was his own archetype and Falcon replaced him. And it should go Hawk > Duke > Hawk. Stalker > Beach Head was already mentioned as well.

Oh (part 2) Ripcord could be replaced by Freefall. I suppose an argument could be made that Mainframe replaced Sparks.

There is no replacement for Snake Eyes. In the original Marvel run most all of the OG Joes were promoted except Snake Eyes. Scarlett even pointed it out.

But if you HAD to pick one, it would be Kamakura since he is his apprentice.

I'm not sure you can consider Sgt. Slaughter a replacement for Beachhead when Slaughter's first figure came out a year before Beachhead and his second figure came out the same year as Beachhead. I'm also pretty sure they made their cartoon debuts in the same episode.

I think I might list Clean Sweep as Airtight's replacement more so than Ozone. Then again I'm still of the mind that Clean Sweep should've been "Airtight v2" anyway.

Are you saying that because they both wore berets? Because Flint was still a strong presence in the comic with Falcon only making occasional appearances.

Falcon is Flint's cousin right? I cannot remember that far back.

No...according to the '87 Animated movie, Falcon is Duke's half-brother.

Flint is a Warrant Officer and Falcon was a Green Beret...not sure I'd say Falcon was a Flint replacement. But yes, they did both have cool berets, but so did Stalker and Dial Tone.

And isn't Tracker a Navy Seal? How's he a replacement for Snake Eyes or Spirit? How about for Wet-Suit/Torpedo, instead?

Also- How about Salvo as a replacement for Bazooka and Zap? I guess Fast Draw could have been a replacement for those guys, as well.
