Definitive Vehicles

When you think of Joe, which vehicles come to mind? I don't mean necessarily the most useful, practical, your favorites, or ones you think are the most interesting. Which Vehicles are the definitive Joe and Cobra vehicles the way that Snake-Eyes, Duke, Cobra Commander, Destro etc. define Gi Joe?
And while we're on the topic, what characters would you consider definitive for that matter too?

For me (and probably only me) the VAMP, Killer WHALE, Skystriker, APC, GI Joe Headquarters, MOBAT, Polar Battle Bear, Mean Dog, Mobile Command Center, Dragonfly, and Skyhawk. Of course those are the ones I liked most as a kid, so that's probably why.

Similarly, for Cobra, it would be the WOLF, Water Moccasin, Rattler, & Thundermachine.

Now, if you want my opinion of what the masses would probably claim definitive, it would probably be the VAMP, Skystriker, & Whale for joes and the Moccasin, Rattler, & FANG for Cobra.

For Cobra, my favorite, would be the Ratler, Hiss Tank, Stinger Jeep, Trouble Bubble, Claw, TerrorDrome, Firebat, NightRaven, Morray Hydrofoil, the original Fang, and Water Moccasin.

And Cobra Enemies would be Cobra Commander, Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Firefly, Zartan, Dreadknoks, Tomax and Xamot, Crimson Guard, Viper, Cobra Officer and Trooper, and Major Blood.

For the Joe vehicles, Skystiker, Whale, Silver Mirage Cycle, Joe Headquaters, Conquest X-30, Mauler, Vamp II, And you know I'm thinking of this list and keep coming up with too many. I'm sure I'm going to forget some. I just have too many favorites that represent iconic Joe Vehicles or Characters. It's so hard to narrow it down. But, characters and vehicles featured in the Sunbow cartoons are what really makes me think about Joe and Cobra.

These vehicles seem to be the ones that either had the most versions or were used the most in the cartoon and comics.

IMHO It seems that there was a method here, a joe aircraft, a joe ground vehicle, and their cobra counterparts. Then an update in a couple of years.

Hmmm, I'd say the MOST iconic ones, to me anyway, are the Sky Striker and the Rattler.

Hell, I still remember the first time - and exact location - that I saw a Sky Striker!

EDIT: How could I forget the Dragonfly?! That too.

My answer is a little biased, I would say the H.A.V.O.C and the Tomahawk. Mainly because those are the two vehicles I saw joes use all the time in the cartoons, but they were also the two and only vehicles I had as a kid. As for cobra I would say the hisstank and the rattler. If I were to try and figure out across the comics I'm not sure what I would say since a lot of other vehicles get alot more "screen" time.

Interesting that you use the term definitive. The definitive vehicle of the line is the namesake of this site. As a matter of fact, the most memorable vehicles of the line for me are all cobra. The definitive vehicles Joe-wise that many will site are all So grounded in real world that they don't have that "wow" factor. They were f-14's and m-1abrams and very closely tied to real world designs. Even the rattler is an A-10. But the hiss tank was and is the iconic vehicle of the line. It was THE main cobra weapon. It looked like nothing else out there. There has been a version of it in almost every variation of the line. The closest definitively unique and ubiquitous joe vehicle was the skyhawk

I'll just elaborate on the vehicles as my figures would take up way too much space, and I doubt there'd be a lot of interest of descriptions, without pics. If you guys are interested, let me know, as I'm happy to nerd-out and elaborate, further, lol. XD

1.) ARAH Night Raven: Mod fin for no flight pod, mod seat to fit 25th figures, decal MARS and Iron Grenadiers.

3.) MAMBA: Chap-Mei Helicopter repaint re-decal mamba (comic book Cobra Helicarier)

4.) 25th TrubbleBubbles x2

5.) SNAKE Armor: Marvel Iron-Monger + ARAH SNAKE fusion. Repaint, re-decal SNAKE.
Mods
-Shoulder rocket launchers containing 6 missiles each X2
-Minigun forearm.
-Blueshirt head & body for cockpit

6.) 25th HISS Tank x2: decal MARS and Iron Grenadiers

-Replace clear canopy with an all black one with detailed bolts and rivets. Decal interior with a view-screen
-Closed turret with no figure seat

7.) ARAH ASP x2: Mod to seat 25th figures

8.) Stinger: ARAH APC repaint re-decal Stinger, plus MARS and Iron Grenadiers

-Browning 50 Cal gun-seat on canopy versus flamethrower
-Gut interior and mod for 25th, add a seated com area behind driver and passenger seats plus an antenna on the rear of the vehicle

4.) Dragonfly: VvV Night Attack Chopper repaint, re-decal Dragonfly with Tigerfly front tooth and eye decals as well, replace crooked rotors with straightened ones

5.) 25th Ghosthawk x2: Extra standard missiles x4, top mounted Hydra rocket launchers x2 on side landing braces, replace lower guns with miniguns x2

-Remove sled and bike, seal those areas
-Update gun seats with SAWs

7.) Grizzly: 2003 Patriot Grizzly repaint, re-decal as MOBAT

8.) ARAH Warthog: replace missiles with ARAH Wolverine missile system

11.) Vamp: Night Attack Humvee repaint re-decal as Vamp

12.) Scimitar: Lanard Corps Field Tracker re-decal, repaint, and mod as Oktober Guard 6 wheeler
