Is eBay going to explode with retaliation figures now? Already seeing a sharp spike in the price of red ninjas and joe troopers. Are these crappy figures going to be worth a ton? Should I ha be waited to open the ones I got?

I am sure there are plenty of people who will take advantage of the situation.

Doubt it. There will be people trying to capitalize at first, but in the long run, these toys suck and that will shine through.

I'm debating whether to get a case of the wave 2 stuff. There's 8 figures and I like about 6 of them.

I am not sure if the wave 2 will be available. Some online retailers have them for preorder but that does not mean they will have them at this point.

If they pull the figures then the supply will be limited but it depends on how many people want them. Certain ones like the troopers, Red Ninja, Zartan and CC might go for a bit more since they were only 1 per case.

Thats what I'm worried about, them sending the stuff back too soon.

If the Dollar General toys are any indication then I'd say yes, call the bomb squad cause that shits gonna blow up!

I have all the Retaliation figures that I want from the first wave. I don't give a shit how much they go for on Ebay now.

The Dollar General Joes were accepted more because of the retro look they have. I am not sure if the demand for the movie figures will be as high.

And i live in cali and have no clue where to find the dollar general figs to boot, so yeah i think its gonna be hell to get anything for a while.

I think we'll see the prices spike, especially when people start to see that despite some misfires there are some very cool figures in the line-up. The Ninja Showdown Snake Eyes is probably one of the best modern Snake Eyes I've seen and the Storm Shadow isn't too shabby either. And when people begin to see that these figures aren't the crap people expected them all to be, then yeah, demand will go up, especially as people will now be worried about whether they'll be able to score them later given the confusion and worry now about the movie.

I bought the Cobra Trooper and Red Ninja to check them out. I was satisified with their articulation so I will go forward with buying the Generic Cobra figures and new Cobra releases. I also picked up the GI Joe Trooper. I will be passing onall the Dukes, SS, SE, Roadblocks and CC as well as most of the vehicles. I saw the Firefly motorcycle and didnt bother but I did pick up the Fangboat.

I think a lot of people would be pleasantly surprised at how good some of these toys are if they'd just give them a chance.

These toys are supposedly going to be available early next year.

Thats totally dependant on Retail...they already got the rung pulled out form udner them with the current product they have. They are blowing through it though and will not be able to order more. We will get through wave 2 and that will be it. Once its gone its gone. get what you want now...I am not trusting what they re-release next year...I have everything from wave 1 I want, now I need my wave 2 stuff (which my online retailers have confirmed ship June 15th and that the movie delay has nothing to do with what product they can offer me) so i am confident wave 2 will arirve shortly after June 15th...but waves 3 -5? Aint happening...kiss the best of the line good by...

I like the Joe troopers they are ok...I have decided to cut back from the 8 I had preordered to just 3 though...the cape is pretty wonky looking and the scarfs need to be painted black....

Cobra trooper rox, Red Ninjas rock, Storm Shadow Rocks, The Rock well rocks :0 for both versions (even with articualtion loss in the feet), Zartan is meh but ok, Black CC friggen rocks, both 3 packs rock, fangboats rock(get 2 and swap the cannons while they are cheap) Hiss rocks once you put the treads from a v5 on it, and the 2 vehicle drivers Swamp Viper and Armored Cobra commander have to be hands down the BEST and the ABSOLUTLE SHITTEST figures I have ever owned. They are amzing looking and that is where it ends...the 5pt artiuclation makes them the best Corps figures ever created by Hasbro...its really fukin sad...

I don't think its a matter of how good the figures are, the Joes are usually brought by mostly Joe collectors and knowing that these figures may well be hard to get hold of, I think that will generate more of a demand on them.

I'll wait until they turn up in stores 8 months from now.

Walmart isn't going to turn down money. They'll carry them. And even if Walmart and Target doesn't, then Toys R Us would love to carry a whole line they can call exclusive.

DaveViper
05-27-2012, 07:27 AM
If people are dumb enough to pay high prices for them then yah ebay will blow up. Wait till there available again. They may even redesign some stuff who knows. Don't feed the scalpers your money. Its on us to be smarter then them.

I haven't use them in months.

The figure I REALLY wanted, I mean the one out if the whole line I was REALLY lookin forward to, may never see the light of day ---- Bruce Willis. I mean, Joe Colton.

They're all going to show up at some point, some where.

The hundreds of thousands, if not millions of figures Hasbro has produced for this movie to be sold world wide, will eventually be sold. They're not just going to dump them in the deeps of the ocean or stored in some random warehouse to be forgotten.

DaveViper
05-27-2012, 08:06 AM
Corndog we are talking about leaving money on the table Hasbro, so I wouldn't put it pass them to dump the figures in the ocean. Or wharehouse them. Somtimes I think Hasbro is the biggest hoarder of Joes ever. They don't want us to have them. Their mean and shelfish. And they only give us what they feel we deserve and not a figure more.

I'm just kidding Hasbro I love you! :)

Guys were going to be fine.

I'm sure you'll see plenty of listings with "rare", "deleted" and "OOP" Retaliation toys with jacked up prices, but I also expect plenty of reasonable listings from genuine fans/sellers that will hopefully strangle the jacked-up ones.

I hope they recycle all the Retaliation stuff into desirable Joe product.

I have too much stuff I'm buying already to care about the Retaliation figures. Maybe I'll buy a few when they go on sale. But, I'm all for more Renegades and 30th figures.

MeLikeJinx
05-28-2012, 02:22 AM
Why would someone even pay scalper prices for Retaliation Joes? Just wait... in nine months you might not even like Joes anymore.

Unless they change the packaging or something for the re-release.

Yeah I don't see why someone would pay jacked up prices for these figures, OCD not withstanding.

I hope this means the price on 25th and POC go down.

25th is still decently priced as there was an abundance of them.. as for POC and 30th, prices seem to be increasing...
