it was a miniseries only.

now as far as a movie adaptation of the movie itself, I am sure that was already done, but now will have to be re-worked to add in the new scenes, since it is not out yet and may not have even been printed, they should be able to adapt to the new release date.

IDW has already spent thousands for the tie in, and if the reshoots do any major story changes, much of that work might be screwed as well.

Shout got screwed, as they planned to push DiC series 2 and Renegades on the back of the Retaliation push.

The film cast and crew got screwed by having to come back for reshoots (preventing them from doing other projects)

If there was a novel tie in? Delayed and maybe having to be rewritten.

Soundtrack? Delayed at least (if not cancelled)

And I'm sure there are other merchandising stuff that got delayed or cancelled at this point.

Movie Theaters are also impacted by this, I do beleive. The "purchase" the movies in advance and have to pay per screen. Now they will have empty ones for that time and need to get other movies in to fill the revenue gaps. I see Avengers lingering for a long time because of this.

It has been a long time since a movie dominated the theaters, perhaps Avatar could be considered one of those type of movies, but it seems that a movie staying on the charts for several weeks if not months is a rarity anymore. IF Avengers pulls that off, It could go down as one of those memorable movies that becomes an icon of pop culture.

I would like nothing better to have the soundtrack (score) out when it was suppose to be out. But I seriously doubt it will be cancelled, as just a few days ago Jon chu got out of a scoring session with henry jackman.
