IF in a hypothedical world retailation was released this Summer in both 3D & 2d which would you see it in?
Is 3D important enough to wait 9 months?
Other comments welcomed.

I won't see it in 3D. I didn't see Avengers in 3D. Or Captain America. Or Harry Potter. Or Green Lantern. I saw Thor in 3D, but only because I didn't have an option. I just don't like 3D movies, especially if you have to pay more.

I will see 3D movies shot for 3D like AVATAR and AMAZING SPIDER-MAN...post conversion can kiss my ass
I do not like live action in 3D. It always ends up blurry and dim, and the 3D effect is hardly noticable unless you think about it.

I feel bad for Chu, As a director you change your editing/shooting style based on how the final product will be seen. 2D 3D 3d conversion. No one I know wants to see a 3D movie if it was made 3D after the fact. Looks weird & unnatural which is exactly the thing you try to avoid when making a fantisy film.

3-d conversion sucks, and is a waste of my money. I was really looking forward to taking my son to see this movie, and he was really looking forward to seeing it as he loves GI Joe and watches the trailer over and over again, but he's at that age where he doesn't keep the 3-d glasss on anyway so all he sees is a blurry screen. I won't pay the extra money to see a 3-d converted movie.
Movies actually shot in 3-D like Transformers DOTM and Avatar are a completely different story. Those I will pay to see.

Amen to that I couldn't sum it up better...
All I have to say is I HATE 3D and wearing the dumb glasses for 2-2 1/2 hrs pisses me off. Probably just wait till it comes out on DVD now seeing movies are too much now a days as it is. I can rent new movies from my library for $2.00 a day can't beat that..

Agree.
Though I don't dislike 3D movies, I just have rarely seen anything in the 3D movies that I have seen that was worth me paying an extra few dollars at the box office. The end sequence of " How to Train Your Dragon" was about as close as I have ever been to feeling satisfied with paying the premium.

If I saw it in theaters it would be 2D. 3D has been an intermittent fad since the dawn of filmmaking, and I see no reason to pay more for a gimmick that doesn't truly add something to the experience. If you aren't gonna shoot the film from the start with 3D in mind there's no point in adding it as an afterthought.
It's not like 3D is was gonna help it against the Spiderman reboot or The Goddamn Batman III this year anyhow.
But eh, whatever. Maybe this will give Hasbro the opportunity to make a Cobra Trooper that actually appears in the film and not just ruin Alley Vipers and Shock Troopers with red and grey paint.

Remember, just because they are converting it to 3D doesn't mean you HAVE to see it in 3D, yes it sucks big time for us who want to see it in 2D to have to wait for them to convert it. But either way, it's not like it is going to be a 3D ONLY release...

+1, I've never felt like it was worth an extra 30% markup
