I was wondering who has a psp and if they're any good? How long do the batteries last and are load times bad?I have a DS and wonder how they compare, not graphically but with run-time,loading,etc. is Sony still having the trouble with batteries catching fire?

The reason I ask is I'm skipping this generation of consoles but want to get The Force Unleashed. I've yet to read a good review of the DS version and the psp sounds pretty good so I'm thinking of getting it.

I had 2 psps, if you get the 1.5 its good for emulators, and if you get the slim its alright. not the best. I prefer a DS over a psp (better games). if you own a xbox or ps3 then your better off with those systems.

graphics wise yes psp is nice, and umd movies are a nice touch.
loading is okay doesn't load that long (depends on the game your playing)
battery life sucks it only lasts about 4-5 hours depending on the brightness, volume level mainly.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. I like it for games, sometimes listen to MP3s, even watch movies while on a plane ride. The battery life is ok, but if it really concerns you maybe you can spring for another battery. Graphics are great, kinda like playing the PS2/PS3. I normally just play Madden, NCAA, and Tiger Woods 09 on it.

I have a PSP, but I never use it. Not cause its bad, cause I already own a Wii and PS3. I would choose it over a NDS anyday...

careful with the psp slim...sceen breaks very easily when knocked off a desk...haha...between 30-60 bucks to fix, and easy to do

I also forgot to say in my last post that NDS has mainly kid games. When I think of NDS, I think of kids. PSP has more Mature titles than NDS. PSP is more for adults...

I have the Vader version. I love it. I wish there was little more movement within games but whatever. Though I mostly got it for movies and mp3's to share with wife on long trips and such.

PSP is the only system I have currently, as I can't afford the new consoles at the moment, hell I'm still playing GTA Liberty City Stories even so I'm a little behind...I wish they'd release the Original Half-Life for it, that would be so nostalgicaly sick, as I have a special place in my heart for that game and can't play it anymore.

i have two psp's. one slim and and original magic one. for the longest time i was just using it for email on the go, movies, and as a music player, then I started putting ps1 games on it and scanned comics.
but yeah, it's a great system. you can't compare ds games to psp games. DS games are cute'ish but psp are more intense.
god of war, force unleashed, and silent hill orgins blow ds stuff out of the water.
I owned a ds and lost interest in it very fast.

I take my PSP most everywhere. Mainly use it for downloaded videos and pics (but I keep Warhammer 40k in for occasional playing) The internet browser is good for chking mail and posts but not a whole lot more. I play games on my son's DS more than I play on the PSP.

Thanks for the advise. I just watched some video's of the new DSi from Nintendo and have decided to hold out for it since It does internet, music, pictures, and I already have games. I really want to play TFU so hopefully my house will sell soon so I can move back to Fl and play it on my nephews PS3. Well now that I think about it he uses the PS3 a lot so maybe he'll let me borrow the Wii he doesn't use.

I have a PSP with custom firmware. I only use it for emulators.
