Toonami was the absolute best... way ahead of its time IMO during its early run when anime popularity was still in its infancy in the US. Probably not such a big deal now though. LOL.

Sweeeet.
I didn't watch it faithfully, but I used to catch Transformers: Cybertron at 5AM, when I would get up for work. I actually credit that (amongst other things) for planting the seed of getting me back into action figures!
I hope they put that, Armada, or Energon back on the air.
EDIT: I just read the wiki on Toonami. Apparently those 5AM episodes weren't actually part of Toonami, lol. Whatever...I still hope they include some old TF episodes in the new incarnation...

Sick can anyone give me a top 5 anime show must watch list. I know so little on the subject matter. But I did love watching Toonami on both adult swim and the one in the afternoon.

I didn't even know Toonami was gone. Only so many episodes of Dragonball I can watch before my eyes start to bleed.

Agreed, although it was more Naruto towards the end.
Not that that made things any better.

Toonami aired on April 1st, in all it's glory. I guess it was popular enough to bring it back full time.

Precisely that, actually. The fact that the twitter campaign (spearheaded by legendary Voice of Awesome Steve Blum, no less) took just a month to get results says something.

Dragonball Z sucks. Sucks big ones.
I just HATE that animation. Maybe the story is alright, but I can never stomach it long enough to figure that out.

I still can't figure out WHY it was so popular with people my age growing up. Yeah, sure, there was some pretty bombastic fighting, but I couldn't get over how they stretched what should have been a 3-5 minute sequence into EIGHT GODDAMN EPISODES. And that's when they actually DID something.
I much preferred Gundam, Zoids, and Ronin Warriors.

My kid brother made me watch the "Cell saga". I just kept thinking to myself, why does it take a whole god damn episode to charge up a move that he just shakes off at the beginning of the next episode?

I loved DBZ back in the day. Like alot of my friends, it's what got me into anime. I remember way back when when Toonami was DBZ, Gundam Wing, Ronin Warriors, Outlaw Star and a few others. Glad to see it coming back.

Yeah, but it's pretty rough finding ones that still have their joints intact. Cool as it may have been 20 years ago, a lot are either shot or just don't move right these days. I always wished they had made something more in line with Power ranger articulation, i.e. standard swivel joints.
