I just meant usually when people get a pic it goes live within seconds. That's all. Usually the minute a picture of anything goes public to any degree it's all over all the boards within minutes. And yet this is just being posted now. I was surprised is all.

Yeah, I know there is always pictures and info out there that people aren't sharing, I just find it silly. I think it works to your advantage to show people product to get them excited, not just spring it on them (changes and all). Jinx turned out great though. Now I just need to work on a good 30th unmasked head for her.

Hey you know me... I'm all about sharing stuff. I'm all about getting people excited or at the very least closer to knowing what to expect (or in some cases not expect). Not because I think myself or anyone else is entitled to see things or what have you... but because I've seen it tap into the enthusiasm of collectors etc. I mean look at the discount figures... a lot of people are going to spend money on those that were NOT going to spend money on Retaliation.

I don't want you, Fire_Fly, or anyone else to think I'm directing my comments at them. I think it's great that you guys share, you're a big reason this hobby and community are so amazing. I just mean in general, like the people who try to withhold info from guys like you. It's not like we didn't know Jinx was coming out. Although I can imagine the carded pics being pretty awesome and Hasbro wanting to reveal those themselves, loose pics I don't see a problem with sharing. Jinx is drool worthy, lol. Thank you guys for all that you do.

Man, they really could have made a great 87 movie Jinx with accessories like the second head and sparring gear. This figure is nice, but she's missing that Jinx charm.

You can usually pre-order SDCC stuff from eBay. this is of course from guys going to SDCC. I did this three years ago with the MCullen/Destro set. then I didn't for Slaughter and Zarana. I AM going to pre-order this one. No doubt. You pay a premium, I'd guess this will be around $30 or so, but it's better than refreshing HTS until their server crashes and then trying to trade 30 figs for one fig.
EDIT: I just serach SDCC Jinx on eBay. There are pre-orders, startign at $59.99+shipping. That maybe too much for me. The prices should go down once it gets closer to ComicCon.
This is great looking. I agree this is the one SDCC Jinx to get. The other doesn't do it for me either.

Looks great. My only complaint is something that Hasbro seems to do quite a bit. Namely, they make the lower leg shorter than the upper leg. They should be equal with the knee being a middle ground. They like to factor the knee into the lower leg which doesn't make much sense. Renegades Scarlett is a victim of this.
Still a beautiful looking figure. I'll try to grab a bunch of extras when I'm at SDCC for my fellow HISSTankers.

I think it'll depend on the card she comes on as to whether she'll do the blockbuster numbers that Zarana and Sgt Slaughter did. If they put her on a Retaliation card, I think she'll sell more like the SDCC Destro two-pack.

Maybe if this had come out a few years ago I'd be more excited, but now? Eh... it's fine I guess. But I've seen many Jinx customs I like better. I think I'm ready for a 30th anniversary type reimagining or update of Jinx. Even the yellow version might be more exciting to me than this one. It just somehow lacks energy in my opinion. I think there's something rather unfeminine about her too, especially the head. Is it just me?

Then it's settled...
we are all fucked.
...everyone is going to go nuts over these.
I'm not gonna give some guy on ebay a ton of money to preorder one. I'm not gonna go to the con. I'll try ordering it from HTS but likely I'm not gonna be one of the lucky few who get's them.
Chances are I'm not gonna get this figure.
Is HTS prepared this year? People complained about having figures in their cart only be taken out, pages freezing etc. It was an entire mess. Did HTS upgrade their servers or whatever? It is one thing to have them sell out before you can get one but it is another to have them in your cart and then lose them because the site froze.

Don't worry, it'll be the same thing as last year. I guarantee it. If they were going on Retaliation cards it's possible that there would be plenty like the ROC Destro set, and people would be less inclined to collect it. The fact that it's on a 25th style card ensures madness and chaos.
Certainly don't pre-order too early so that you cannot dispute it if they guy isn't able to fill all his pre-orders.

Hes right though, and has every right to complain about it, she is NOT 100% accruate as stated to her original design (sure shes red an da ninja but thats as far as it goes) as a result of his points (the GI JOE on her leg should be there and would add a lot of unique detail to her that she is currenlty missing) , she looks just like a plain old red female ninja...nothing about he screams Jinx to me...she should have an unmasked head with a removable blind fold too...her hairstyle was iconic of the character...this one...who is she? Movie Jinx or ARAH Jinx? Neither? who knows...she just too generic, especially for a $100+ SDCC exclusive Item...and definetly not 100% upgraded..maybe 86%...tops...

It says she have classic look and she have - just as you said red female ninja with black dragon on her breast.

Heh...we all have the look we are looking for. Couldn't agree more here with you. Thats what Im talking about. Its Jinx and everyone who is fan of G.I.Joe can say that at first glance without thinking. But some people expect her to look exact the same as she was in those 10 min of cartoon. U know she have more apperence in comic so mayby designers get inspiration there. No, but Airtight, Lifeline and Sci-Fi are pretty damn accurate.
I just don't see why, out of four Jinxes, not one can be as accurate as those guys are. Don't get me wrong, she's a sweet figure, and this has been hashed out a lot, but it's like saying RoC Baroness is good enough because she's dressed in black (granted, this figure destroys RoC Baroness, but you get my meaning).
I view Jinx as a missed opportunity. With an SDCC budget, they could have had a lot of fun with the figure and played off of her 87 movie appearance to give her a bunch of accessories. What I personally would have liked to have for SDCC is a really cool ARAH Jinx and then this modern one for the variant instead of the white one (or vice versa).

Yeah, I mean, she's definitely a badass ninja, but the original figure and character had a more demure quality to her with a lot of underlying spark. The pajamas, the head sculpt, the slippers. She was charming. This is definitely the movie figure painted red, you know?
The original Jinx figure didn't have a GI Joe logo on its leg.
One feature I was really hoping they'd add! Along with a blindfold for the alternate head and the weapon thing she uses to spar with Beachhead. It could have a breaking-in-half ninja action!
Realy what kind of fan-boy you need to be that you complain about exposed neck and no g.i joe loge becouse a figure who was relased 25 years ago have it. Seriously dude how old are you??
She's a figure I've really been anticipating and I wanted her to be different. It's pretty simple.
And I'm 35 -- just last week. Wish me a happy birthday.
Thanks CG101.
I mean, I don't know how many times I have to preface my opinion about this figure with "Don't get me wrong, she's a sweet figure ..." but it always goes this way. Whatevs. I know kneroh is biting his tongue. :D

I think she looks fine.
But I've never been a nitpicker, either for Joe or superhero costumes translate to toy form. I just think some people take this stuff a little too seriously, and therefore will most likely never be happy.
No offense meant, of course.

I'm a good Lutheran boy, which means I've seen "A Prairie Home Companion" a bunch. There's a scene where Lindsay Lohan asks Garrison Keillor to eulogize a fallen comrade with a moment of silence on his radio show. Keillor's response: "Silence on the radio? I don't know how that works."
I'm not sure what the point of the Tank is if we're not hear to discuss the pros and cons of toys. I mean, sexed up signatures and spam threads only take you so far into the night.

Sorry,she is NOT dead on
She has her neck exposed
She has no GI Joe logo on her leg
She has no back pack (just sheeves)
I would say pretty close...just like the 25th figures have been
of course,I'll be adding her to my 25th classic collection
-The gi joe logo was from the toon, not the toy.
-Not having a backpack doesn't makes the figure itself more or less accurate.
-Toon-Jinx doesn't has the black wrists like the toy/card art.
-Toon-Jinx has a big black dragon unlike the toy.
-One of the toys has a blue highlights and is a cobra agent
-Comic Jinx has a black suit.
-Sigma 6 Jinx is completely different
-Agent Jinx has a different suit and a ponytail.
But there's always a basic:
red female ninja.
We get in the movie, and the toy has the extra detail of the old styled Jinx, with black accents, and black dragon. Even the weird, stupid double spear.
I didn't say it was exact, i said it was almost, dead on, which she IS.
she looks just like a plain old red female ninja...
She is a plain red ninja.
As a kid i thought he was a guy, ti'll year slater saw it in hand, and the bumps on the chest and red nails suggested he was a she. The figure was NOTHING as feminine, as someone claims this new version isn't lol
but it's like saying RoC Baroness is good enough because she's dressed in black (granted, this figure destroys RoC Baroness, but you get my meaning).
Uuuh, it is.
baroness is the classic bitch with bad attitude, dressing in black leather. She does in the movie yep. The figure suffers from mildly ugly headsculpt, that's all.
Btw, i did read you said it was a nice fig, i'm just arguing because it's interesting :D
Now, I can't say I wouldn't still be making the case if this were true, but I feel like if she either had her neck covered up OR had the slippers, then it might tip the scales toward feeling more like the Jinx I'm after. I think I'll try to swap out her feet for ... God knows what. I wonder how that Senior Officer Cobra Commander red matches up. Hands, too. Try to get something bare.
I actually do like the neckline. I mean, sexy ninja -- that works for me. ;)

I'm afraid you won't be able to swap feet... these are "rocker ankles", much like Renegades Scarlett.
I assume you didn't get any renegades, because you seem to be a arah V1 fan or Sunbow movie fan, but rocker feet are the inverse of 25thers: the ankle has the joint with the peg, and the foot is a simple piece with a hole (the 25th are the inverse: the ankle has the hole, and the foot has the joint and peg), so you can't switch feet with another 25ther.
Unless you're willing to try some small customizing.
The pirates of the Caribbean chick (Kheira something) has an oriental version. She wears black slippers. If you cut them, and drill a hole on the right angle, you'll get a good "fix" for your V1 Jinx ;)

Thanks for the how-to! :)
Guess I didn't realize she had those rockers. Yeah, I skipped out on Scarlett, though I do think she looks like a cool figure. I like rockers on 6" figures but kinda wish Joes didn't have them. Oh well.

Well, the rocker joint is weird for me too, but not bad at all. For ninjas is pretty cool, not too sure for military oriented characters. In any case, the bright side is that now is easier to use arah feet, since it only takes a little hole to fit a modern figure ;)

I like the rockers, but I think you really need to have a swivel at the calf to make them work well. To me, it's more important to be able to rotate the foot then to have the rocker joint. A lot of the MU figures have both though, and that's really nice.

I hate the rockers...especially on MU...I have several MUs with terrible rocker ankles and they fall down all th etime as a result. I am working on a magnetic system to hold them in place, sick of finding them all over the floor lol...it also makes the peg hole in the heel and its not very deep so it makes keeping them on the stand (if they have one, ones without always fall down due to the loose ankles) nearly impossible as well. Swivel ankle is fine like the 25th Joes have...anything more or less then that is blaaah....

The red one is the regular version, and the unmasked white one is the variant.

They wouldn't do that to us. Red will be the more popular, they know that, just like the ARAH version of Zarana last year (although Cold Slither probably would have sold out regardless of how many they made).

The (arguably) more popular Slaughter was the variant though.

I guess I meant when there was a clear distinction, they wouldn't make the more desired the harder to get.
I would argue back that more kids had a USA Slaughter as kids than TTT. I know I did.

Really? I would have guessed it was the other way around. I had a TTT one, but no mail-in.

I smell a poll. I'd be really interested in knowing the results of that one.
EDIT: Poll started (http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-joe-toys-modern-general-discussion/233549-usa-slaughter-ttt-both.html). :)
Hmmm, I wonder if there's a small caveat in that the LJN mail-away was also the USA Sarge, thus justifying greater numbers of the USA version because of his appeal to vintage collectors and wrestling fans in attendance at SDCC?

Don't know about that cause I had the TTT one cause it was easier to get as it was available in stores. Also, I liked the more military looking fatigues.
Also, as a Canadian collector, the USA Slaughter just didn't appeal to me cause they didn't change the shirt to say CDA like the did on his Triple T! (I kid)
But seriously, I really hated how Hasbro Canada changed all the USA stickers to Canadian and changed USA to CDA on the toys but when the Battle Corps Gung Ho came out, he still had the US flag. It annoyed me as a kid and after I grew up and rebuilt my collection, I replaced all Canadian versions with the USA version.
