Abbey Road
http://www.popartuk.com/g/l/lglp0597+abbey-road-album-cover-the-beatles-poster.jpg
Abbey Road is the 11th studio album released by the English rock band The Beatles. It is their last recorded album, although Let It Be was the last album released before the band's dissolution in 1970. Work on Abbey Road began in April 1969, and the album was released on 26 September 1969 in the United Kingdom, and 1 October 1969 in the United States.
Abbey Road is widely regarded as one of The Beatles' most tightly constructed albums, although the band was barely operating as a functioning unit at the time. Rolling Stone placed it at number 14 on its list of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time". In 2009, readers of the magazine also named Abbey Road the greatest Beatles album

the Beatles (album)
http://www.archer2000.net/apple/walbum3.gif
The Beatles is the ninth official album by the English rock group The Beatles, a double album released in 1968. It is also commonly known as "The White Album" as it has no graphics or text other than the band's name embossed (and, on the early LP and CD releases, a serial number) on its plain white sleeve.
The album was written and recorded during a period of turmoil for the group, after visiting the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India and having a particularly productive songwriting session in early 1968. Returning to the studio, the group recorded from May to October 1968, only to have conflict and dissent drive the group members apart. Ringo Starr quit the band for a brief time, leaving Paul McCartney to play drums on two tracks. Many of the songs were "solo" recordings, or at least by less than the full group, as each individual member began to explore his own talent.
Upon release in November 1968, the album received mixed to positive reviews and reached number 1 on the charts in the United Kingdom and the United States. The album is notable for the eclectic nature of its songs, which has divided critics in evaluating its legacy. The album has sold over 30 million copies worldwide, and was listed at number 10 on Rolling Stone's "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list. Previously in 1987, as part of their 20th anniversary, Rolling Stone ranked it #9 on "The 100 Best Albums of the Last Twenty Years."

Come Together
The Beatles - Come Together (official clip) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03xjifAFagY)
written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon–McCartney. The song is the opening track on the album Abbey Road.
One month later it was released as a double A-sided single with "Something", their twenty-first single in the United Kingdom and twenty-sixth in the United States. The song reached the top of the charts in the US, and peaked at number four in the UK.
The song's history began when Lennon was inspired by Timothy Leary's campaign for governor of California titled "Come together, join the party" against Ronald Reagan, which promptly ended when Leary was sent to prison for possession of marijuana. It has been speculated that each verse refers cryptically to each of The Beatles (e.g. "he's one holy roller" allegedly refers to the spiritually inclined George Harrison; "he got monkey finger, he shoot Coca-Cola" to Ringo, the funny Beatle; "he got Ono sideboard, he one spinal cracker" to Lennon himself; and "got to be good-looking 'cause he's so hard to see" to Paul); however, it has also been suggested that the song has only a single "pariah-like protagonist" and Lennon was "painting another sardonic self-portrait".
In the intro, Lennon says "shoot me" which is accompanied by his handclaps and McCartney's heavy bass riff.

Don't Let Me Down
The Beatles - Dont Let Me Down - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR-SlkUgCRg&feature=related)
An anguished love song John Lennon wrote to Yoko Ono, Paul McCartney interpreted it as a "genuine plea", with Lennon saying to Ono, "I'm really stepping out of line on this one. I'm really just letting my vulnerability be seen, so you must not let me down." Lennon's vocals work their way into screams, presaging the primal scream stylings of the following year's John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band album.
The song is in the key of E and is in 4/4 time during the verse, chorus and bridge, but changes to 5/4 in the pick-up to the verse.
Multiple versions of "Don't Let Me Down" were recorded during the tumultuous Get Back (Let It Be) recording sessions. The version recorded on 28 January 1969 was released as a B-side to the single "Get Back", recorded the same day.

Eleanor Rigby
Eleanor Rigby- The Beatles - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dsz4dB6DuM)
simultaneously released on the 1966 album Revolver and on a 45 rpm single. The song was written primarily by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. With a double string quartet arrangement by George Martin, and striking lyrics about loneliness, the song continued the transformation of the group from a mainly pop-oriented act to a more experimental studio-based band.
"Eleanor Rigby" is also important in The Beatles' evolution from a pop, live-performance band to a more experimental, studio-oriented band, though the track contains little studio trickery. In a 1967 interview Pete Townshend of The Who commented "I think 'Eleanor Rigby' was a very important musical move forward. It certainly inspired me to write and listen to things in that vein."
Though "Eleanor Rigby" was not the first pop song to deal with death and loneliness, according to Ian MacDonald it "came as quite a shock to pop listeners in 1966." It took a bleak message of depression and desolation, written by a famous pop band, with a sombre, almost funeral-like backing, to the number one spot of the pop charts. The bleak lyrics were not The Beatles' first deviation from love songs, but were some of the most explicit.

FRED
(From:Yellow Submarine animated musical fantasy film)
http://beatles.coolcherrycream.com/images/yellow-submarine/09-oldfred-ringo.jpg
Yellow Submarine is a 1968 animated musical fantasy film based on the music of The Beatles.
At the beginning of the story, Pepperland is introduced by a narrator as a cheerful music-loving paradise under the sea, protected by Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. A yellow submarine rests on a somewhat Aztec-like pyramid on a hill. At the edge of the land is a range of high blue mountains.
The land falls under a surprise attack by the music-hating Blue Meanies (who live in or beyond the blue mountains), In the last minute before his own capture, Pepperland's elderly Lord Mayor sends Old Fred, a sailor (whom the mayor calls "Young Fred"), to get help; he runs to the Yellow Submarine and takes off in it. Old Fred travels to Liverpool

Get Back
The Beatles - Get Back - Original Studio Version - HQ - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tMy_w5HsfdI)
originally released as a single on 11 April 1969 and credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston." A different mix of the song later became the closing track of Let It Be (1970), which was the Beatles' last album released just after the group split. The single version was later issued on CD on the second disc of the Past Masters compilation.
The single reached number one in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, France, West Germany, and Mexico. It was the Beatles' only single that credited another artist at their request. "Get Back" was the Beatles' first single release in true stereo in the US. In the UK, the Beatles' singles remained monaural until the following release, "The Ballad of John and Yoko".

Help!
The Beatles- Help! - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-s-F7ZmmGbY)
The title song for both the 1965 film and its soundtrack album. It was also released as a single, and was number one for three weeks in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
"Help!" was written by John Lennon, but credited (as were all Beatles songs written by either person) to Lennon–McCartney. The title was "out of desperation". In 2004, "Help!" was ranked number 29 on Rolling Stone's list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time".

Lyrics in the song "Come Together":
"Here come old flat top, he come grooving up slowly, he got ju ju eyeballs"
Juju or Ju-Ju is a word of either West African or French origin[1] used previously by Europeans to describe the traditional West African religion.[2] The term Juju refers to the use of such objects and other things to perform a form of witchcraft.[3]
An object of any kind superstitiously venerated by West African native tribes, and used as a charm, amulet, or means of protection; a fetish. Also the supernatural or magical power attributed to such objects, or the system of observances connected therewith; also a ban or interdiction effected by means of such an object (corresponding to the Polynesian taboo).[4]
The term juju, and the practices associated with it, travelled to the Americas from West Africa with the influx of slaves and still survives in some areas, particularly among the various groups of Maroons, who have tended to preserve their African traditions.

Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm Gib Mir Deine Hand (I Want to Hold Your Hand) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_eIzpZzGKo)
"Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" (English: "Come On, Give Me Your Hand" ) was a single released on 5 March 1964 by The Beatles in Germany.
The German sub-label of EMI, Odeon Records, persuaded George Martin and Brian Epstein, insisting that the Beatles "should record their biggest songs in German so that they could sell more records there." Martin agreed to the proposal, and convinced the Beatles to comply.
In their only recording session outside the United Kingdom, the Beatles recorded Paul McCartney's new song "Can't Buy Me Love", and the German versions of "I Want to Hold Your Hand" and "She Loves You", "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" and "Sie Liebt Dich", respectively, on 29 January 1964 at EMI's Pathé Marconi Studios in Paris. The band was in France for a 19-day series of concerts at the Olympia Theatre. The recording session was scheduled for 27 January, but the Beatles were reluctant to attend it.
"Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" was the first song to be recorded. The Beatles recorded eleven takes, and the new German vocals were mixed with the original instrumental. The handclaps were overdubbed. As the original instrumental of "She Loves You" was destroyed by EMI after it had been mixed for mono, the Beatles had to re-record "Sie Liebt Dich" from scratch. The Beatles recorded the instrumental in thirteen takes, and then they recorded their German vocals. "Sie Liebt Dich" kept the "Yeah, yeah, yeah" refrain from the original.
The stereo mixes of "Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand" and "Sie Liebt Dich" were mixed by George Martin on 13 March 1964 at Abbey Road Studios, while the Beatles were filming A Hard Day's Night. Copies of the mixes were sent to West Germany and the United States.
"They were right, actually, it wasn't necessary for them to record in German, but they weren't graceless; they did a good job," George Martin said later.

Music: The Beatles
German Lyrics: Camillo Felgen
O komm doch, komm zu mir
Du nimmst mir den Verstand
O komm doch, komm zu mir
Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm gib mir deine Hand
O du bist so schön
Schön wie ein Diamant
Ich will mir dir gehen
Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm gib mir deine Hand
In deinen Armen bin ich glücklich und froh
Das war noch nie bei einer anderen einmal so
Einmal so, einmal so
O komm doch, komm zu mir
Du nimmst mir den Verstand
O komm doch, komm zu mir
Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm gib mir deine Hand
Komm gib mir deine Hand
In deinen Armen bin ich glücklich und froh
Das war noch nie bei einer anderen einmal so
Einmal so, einmal so
Oh du bist so schön
Schön wie ein Diamant

Magical Mystery Tour
Magical Mystery Tour Intro - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2qLjQbRv3w)
Magical Mystery Tour is an hour-long British television film starring The Beatles (John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr) that originally aired on BBC1 on 26 December 1967. Upon its initial showing, the film was poorly received by critics and audiences.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/7d/MMT_poster.jpg
The situation is that of a group of people on a British charabanc bus (in a Bedford VAL Panorama) tour, focusing mostly on Mr. Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr) and his recently widowed Auntie Jessie (Jessie Robins). Other group members on the bus include the tour director Jolly Jimmy Johnson (Derek Royle), the tour hostess Miss Wendy Winters (Mandy Weet), conductor Buster Bloodvessel (Ivor Cutler), and the other Beatles.
During the course of the tour, "strange things begin to happen" at the whim of "four or five magicians", four of whom are played by The Beatles themselves and the fifth by long-time road manager Mal Evans.
During the journey, Ringo and his Auntie Jessie argue considerably. During the tour, Aunt Jessie begins to have daydreams of falling in love with Buster Bloodvessel, who displays eccentric and disturbing behaviour. The tour involves several strange activities, such as an impromptu race in which each tour group member employs a different mode of transportation (some run, a few jump into cars, a group of people have a long bike they pedal, while Ringo ends up beating them all with the bus). The entire tour group also crawls into a tiny tent in a field, inside which is a projection theatre. There is a strange scene where the group walks through what appears to be a British Army recruitment office and are greeted by the army drill sergeant (Victor Spinetti). (Paul appears briefly as a desk sergeant, on whose desk rests a sign reading "I WAS you".) The film continues with the men of the tour group watching a strip show and ends with an old-style dance scene, to "Your Mother Should Know."
The film is punctuated by musical interludes, which include The Beatles performing "I Am the Walrus" wearing animal masks, George Harrison singing "Blue Jay Way" while waiting on Blue Jay Way Road, and the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band performing Vivian Stanshall and Neil Innes's "Death Cab For Cutie", sung by Stanshall.

Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
The Beatles - Norwegian Wood (very rare) - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3cUejOltsA)
first released on the 1965 album Rubber Soul.
Credited to Lennon–McCartney, it was written primarily by John Lennon, with the middle eight and lyrical contributions by Paul McCartney. It is the first example of a rock band playing the sitar in one of their songs; it was played by George Harrison.
Lennon started composing the song on his acoustic guitar in January 1965, while on holiday with his wife, Cynthia, in the Swiss Alps. Lennon later explained that the lyric was about an affair he had been having:
“ I was very careful and paranoid because I didn't want my wife, Cyn, to know that there really was something going on outside of the household. I'd always had some kind of affairs going on, so I was trying to be sophisticated in writing about an affair. But in such a smoke-screen way that you couldn't tell. But I can't remember any specific woman it had to do with. ”
McCartney explained the title and lyric as follows:
“ Peter Asher [brother of McCartney's then-girlfriend Jane Asher] had his room done out in wood, a lot of people were decorating their places in wood. Norwegian wood. It was pine, really, cheap pine. But it's not as good a title, "Cheap Pine", baby. So it was a little parody really on those kind of girls who when you'd go to their flat there would be a lot of Norwegian wood. It was completely imaginary from my point of view but in John's it was based on an affair he had. This wasn't the decor of someone's house, we made that up. So she makes him sleep in the bath and then finally in the last verse I had this idea to set the Norwegian wood on fire as revenge, so we did it very tongue in cheek. She led him on, then said, "You'd better sleep in the bath." In our world the guy had to have some sort of revenge ... so it meant I burned the place down ....
