I never could figure out why Red Star was in the top turret on the box art though...

Well, he was intended to be presented as a GI Joe character when the figure was released. Early figures put the Cobra sigil on his file card, but then they corrected it to a GI Joe logo, so I think in the designers heads, he was a Joe.

Would have been awesome if the turret had swiveled, the only way for it to shoot at something was to be facing it. It lost some major points in my book for that!
