Are the belts and sashes on the ninjas removable or interchangeable?

Sashes have to either be cut or slipped off when the legs are removed which is a real bugger

What's the easiest way to complete this custom? How do you get the legs off?

Getting the legs off requires separating the lower torso.. which in itself is hard to do with the sash on it. so it's a catch 22

Although the shoulder harness on the ninjas can be slipped off after removing the head.

I got the legs off of my Snake Eyes without separating the torso...I just heated up the hip joints with a blow dryer for about thirty seconds and carefully pulled them apart. It's really, really easy.

I had to do it because my SE had a flaw, and the left leg wouldn't rotate without tearing the softer plastic that makes up the hip joint, so I took it apart, judiciously cut down the parts that were rubbing inside the joint socket, carefully glued the tears back together, and now he's good as new.

I took the belt off of the red ninja the same way. No major surgery required.
