View Full Version : China/Hong Kong sellers
I dont know if any of you guys noticed but in the past week those kind of sellers been selling alot of the vintage street fighter, mortal kombat, and Gi joes from 1991-1994. They all started selling these last week by multiple sellers! Are they now producing new fake Gi Joes now? Those sellers use to sell exsclusively 2000-2005ish for year. Now suddenly they all change to streetfighter and 1990 Joes? Something does not sound right here?
You guys think they are now prducing FAKE Joes in the 1990s?
Why so you think all of a sudden all of those China and Hong Kong sellers started selling Joes in the 1990s?

99% of those china sellers are selling 2nds and rejects from factory runs... odd that they are still around after almost 20 years; I'd side w/ the op on this one, sounds like they had the molds and are doing a re-run...
if you compare their business model 5 years ago against the last year, their sales have dropped significantly..
check their ebay ending auctions, many are relisting w/o buyers over and over.
I used to buy the hell out of those china figs, in mass, to build armies that I always wanted as a kid, and sometimes you get 2 left hands, 2 left legs, all kinds of paint rubs / errors (not the good kind), and such.
Most are rock-solid, would say 99%, or the imperfection is so slight that it is not noticeable.
I would think these are new re-molded figs using the original configs.

If that is the case, you will be able to tell a difference in construction materials. When these guys were selling these a few years ago, they were vintage, but they were rejects. So, the quality was spotty. But, they were vintage figures. They brought so many 94 Techno Vipers into the market that, without the filecard, it's hard to tell if any on the market were purchased in '94 or if they were this overstock.
