Add two of my favorites:
Recondo, flying helicopters (7th Airmobile Assault Unit), and Keel Haul (F-4 Phantoms, USS Intrepid).

Some of the Joes are enlisted men which would stand to reason that they should not have received any flight training though the military, but were sold with flying toys.
Pilots:
Ace; Slipstream; Ghost-Rider; Countdown; Maverick; Payload; Keel-Haul; Air-Raid; Tomahawk, Barrel-Roll,(enlisted) Skystriker (Probably Space Shot as well, but he's an enlisted man)
Helicopter Pilots:
Wild-Bill; Lift-Ticket; Updraft; Windmill; Blades; Flint; Major-Altitude; Red-Zone(Enlisted); Steel Brigade Commander; Hollow-Point (Again enlisted man), Cannonball (RHINO Driver, but enlisted?). I suppose Matt Trakker can fly things, and I believe Bullet-Proof and Sonic Lt Falcon can supposedly fly the Desert Apache, but that was more gimmicky than official.
Zap was shown to fly Helicopters in the Comics, and I believe Iceberg in the comics has a pilot license or something.

I had this same issue a while back. I was building up my fighter wing and realized there arent that many flight qualified Joes. I grew up on the comic books so thats my Joe verse. I just go with whatever Larry Hama came up with.
Ace -was the main jet fighter ace. He can fly any winged aircraft and in the IDW comics also flies rotory winged aircraft.
Slip Stream- Jet fighter pilot.
Ghost Rider- Phantom X-19 pilot.
Mavric- Jet fighter pilot ( he was K.I.A. in the comics)
Barrel Roll- Jet fighter pilot and sniper instructor (he was introduced in the DDP comics).
Dog Fight- He's a Navy pilot and flies various fixed wing aitcraft.
Sky Striker- was never in the comics but was a figure introduced in the Tiger Force series.
Pay Load and Countdown- Pilot the Crusader and Defiant space shuttles.
The chopper pilots are:
Wild Bill- also pilots the C-130 constantly in the comics.
Windmill- Experimental chopper pilot.
Flint- Hes actully a highly qualifies Helo pilot and does it alot in the DDP comics.
Lift Ticket- mostly the Tomahawk but he can fly any chopper.
Updraft - Pilot of the Retaliator.
Major Altitude- I dont think he was ever featured in the comics but he was available as a toy.
Thats all I can think off right now.
Edit: General Hawk also flew a Saber in the comics, he mentions being trained as a pilot at some point.

One of only 5 confirmed Marines. He was one of those Built To Rule pieces of crap, but a new character none the less.
I forgot about Dog-Fight.

Diana is also portrayed as a Helicopter Pilot in the comics and her 1998 filecard has her as such:

Wasn't Sci-Fi a pilot with Star Brigade?

All of em, didn't you watch Sunbow. Seriously though, the biggest laugh to me is Snake-eyes as a PIC (Pilot In Command). We're going to completely ignore that whole air traffic control thing. I guess he just takes off, and immediately squawks lost comms on his transponder.

In the comics, Lady Jaye was a fixed wing pilot and Zap was a helicopter pilot as well.
What about new sculpt era characters? I'm pretty sure there were quite a few pilots other than barrel roll.
glenda is a helicopter pilot. lady jaye is flight qualified..and in the declassified storyline, shooter was also flight qualified if i'm not mistaken.
i guess when you are a scret anti terrorist squad based off the best of the best in their respective fields, i s'pose nearly most agents would be flight qualified and jump qualified at some point of time. among them there would be some experts obviously like ace, wild bill etc....just like
everyone would be a master of atleast one type of hand to hand combat...and some among them would be an expert in more but all would be good in fighting unarmed.

Shooter met with Ace and rode a skystriker to southamerica or wherever Rio Lindo was but she didnt fly the jet.
In the IDW comics theres a choper pilot named Light Horse and a jet fighter pilot names Iron Head.
Hasbro should go back to making figures based on new comic characters, Helix sold well enough.

What does the Joe community make of this? Scarlett's secondary military specialty started out being 'Classified', then it changed to 'Pilot' for this Glenda version.

Not really. Most of the pack-in pilots were already-existing characters (Wild Bill, Slip-Stream, Ace). Cannonball was mentioned up top (RHINO Driver...presumably can fly the helicopter, too).
I don't really mess with "enlisted pilots" in my Joe-verse. Enlisted Helicopter pilots I bump up to warrant officers, and enlisted fixed-wing pilots I bump up to Ensigns/2nd Lieutenants. Barrel Roll in particular struck me as the kind of character that should've been an officer anyway, and a potential "long term replacement" for more senior officers (kinda like Lt. Falcon when he was first introduced).

Heres what I had. I listed Hollow Point with the Army, and I left out all the "Astronaughts" even though they are all Air Force. Might be a few I did miss.
Also could list Airborne (Talltree) as well.
Army:
Airborne II (Six)
Airwave
Altitude
Barrel Roll
Dogfight*
Drop Zone
Flint
Hollow Point*
Lift-Ticket
Major Altitude
Recondo
Side Track (McLaughlin)
Static Line
Updraft
Wild Bill
Windmill
Air Force:
Ace
Slip-Stream
Maverick
Ghostrider
Skystriker
Tomahawk

All of them, according to the cartoon. If you watch the 50 or so planes launch off the Flagg in the 2 seconds they show the launch, I always wondered how fun it would have been if someone Fd up the launch.

Let's not forget ARAH #131 where the entire Ninja Force team fly a Boeing 747 away from Cobra Island (note that Storm Shadow is in the left-hand seat, so no need to squark 7600, though the rest of the team look rather scared...)
