I found these yesterday at a local surplus/clearance store. They appear to be a repackaging of the previous M1A1 tank and the target exclusive Mi-24 Hind helicopter from a few years back with a few extras added in such as the figures, rocket launcher base, and the howitzer. As I said it was a local store not retail but marking on the bottom gives it a date of 2012 and and origin of Sam's club.

Found a case of Dark Knight Rises figures at Wally World tonight. Bought the Final Assault Bane and Batarang Bash Batman figures, as they were the only 1-per-case figures. I think there were 5 or 6 of the main Batman figure (!)


.....and then I returned them, because I realized they suck.

Finally found the Avengers boxset with the new Hulk. Gotta say I love the new mold. Saw a few of the 6 in. Avengers as well, they look pretty good.

Skipped Cracken, and Leia was already gone. Still, I should be glad no one goes to K-mart, otherwise I'd have missed this wave entirely.

Akira is very badly translated. The translators seem to have made a lot of mistakes when they flipped it backwards - Japanese books read right to left, but Akira has been flipped to read like a western book, left to right. Some talk bubbles don't make sense when read from left to right, and the overall pacing of the story is extremely bumpy. The cuts between panels are awkward too. Let's say Kaneda runs out a door saying "I need to ask him...", and in the next panel he's halfway across town on his motorcycle saying "...if he knows anything." There are a lot of awkward dialog and panel cuts like that. The story makes sense, but these strange errors make it really unenjoyable.

Picked up Retaliation Zartan. He's pretty excellent, despite no ankle articulation. I really like the Storm Shadow head he comes with.

Searched 4 Dollar Generals for the exclusive GI Joes, but didn't find any. I did, however, find Classic Legends Optimus Prime, which is a massive score for me. Also found single-carded VvV figures, but left them on the peg :P
