OK, so I know Toywiz is a sponsor of hisstank.com, but let me tell you what happened:
My mom, bless her, took it upon herself of finding the super hard to find (stupid Hasbro) Renegades Storm Shadow online. She found one on Toywiz's website...for almost $60. She bought it. I told her she paid waaaay too much, but...anywho. She got the package in the mail last week. Now, she paid over $7 for shipping and handling...for ONE FIGURE. Which tells me priority shipping, right? Nope. First class. Well, they're a business, they need to make money...so why overcharge on shipping AND slack off on the packing of the figure!??! That's right, they didn't put one scrap of packing material in the package, and the box was just the right size to fit the figure in.
It gets better...
When she got the package, the box was damaged, with one of those post office stickers proclaiming their innocence about the damage. You know, the one that says, "this package was received damaged/open by the postal service" or whatever. She opens the box and finds not only that there is no packing material, but the super rare Storm Shadow's package has been crushed. The only thing in the box was the damaged figure and the invoice. NO PACKING MATERIAL.
As a webstore that sells toys, and collectables, this should be unheard of. So, here's my plea:
BOYCOTT TOYWIZ.COM!!! They will overcharge, ship without packing material, they won't mark it fragile, they'll overcharge on shipping, and won't replace the damaged item!
That's right, they didn't mark the package fragile. When we contacted them, they refused to replace the figure because "it would cost too much." COST TOO MUCH!?!?!?! They get a figure for $5 and charge over 10 times that and they say it will cost too much!?!?!?
We're returning the figure in the same box, in the same condition, with no packaging and no fragile markings. I'm also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau (they begged my mom not to, but I'm going to-this is unacceptable) and my mom's posting negative feedback on yahoo. And, I'm posting this message on yojoe.com and hisstank.com's message boards.
If you agree that toywiz.com's treatment of this situation was wrong, BOYCOTT THEM! DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!!!!

We are shipping it back today. I was assured of a refund. But, this was after calling and being hung up on by the operator I was talking to...So I had more than one phone call involved. And the guy I talked to said that they don't guarantee mint packaging, and they didn't think it mattered anyway, since they figured the figure would have been ripped open and played with (even though the figure was $60). Go figure. Incompetence...

Well I don't think its worth boycotting since they offered you a refund.

Was it advertised as a Mint carded item? If so they should have delivered a mint, carded item. If it was just advertised as a toy, they scalped the hell out of you (well, your mom actually) but they delivered what they promised. 1 complete toy. Of course 7 dollars is outrageous for shipping of one figure (really so when they are already making a substantial profit on it). Still, unless they specified that it was to be delivered as MOMC they aren't at fault.
Dirty, dirty scalpers yes, but if we boycotted all the scalpers we may as well start with Ebay and Amazon......

I've bought figures from Toy Wiz in the past and never had a problem with them. Of course I open all my toys. I totally agree that they charge too much money so I would definitely avoid them if possible. The thing is, sometimes they have really hard to find figures that no one else has and I just have to buy from them, lol. I just can't help myself!

Can't really complain about the shipping price if you click on it and buy it. As for the rest, if they gave you a refund then that's pretty much all you can expect with businesses nowadays. Just take the money and go somewhere else.

Second: You let your mom pay $70+ bucks for a NEW GI JOE figure for you!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Third: $7 bucks shipping isnt really outrageous. Is it overprices, yes, but not by much.
Fourth: Their prices are outrageous so I dont buy from them anyway.
Fifth: You let your mom pay $70+ bucks for a NEW GI JOE figure for you!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I think I will reserve my indignation for something that more resembles a real travesty or rip-off....

Although, I will add that there were some items that I was looking to get in the past couple of months, and they're prices weren't the worst of the bunch in some cases.

what people dont think about with shipping and handling prices is materials and "labor" are added in it. its not just what it costs to ship it. 7 is average shipping for 1 figure on ALL these websites. smalljoes, bbts, toywiz......

Wow - this is quite a surprise! This is Bebs from ToyWiz.com. It looks like I need to clarify a few things on this thread.
> We accepted that the poor packaging was a mistake on our part, and we have apologized. Our packers are human, and errors can happen.
> We offered a full refund and issued a pickup tag so there is no loss at all to the customer for the mistake.
> We cannot replace the item - we don't have it. There is no issue of "cost too much" when something simply is not available to us at all.
> We have apologized and offered a full refund including shipping costs both ways. We also gave this customer an option of $10 off of the price instead, if he wanted to keep it with damaged packaging, since it might still be displayed if that was the intent.
> Our acquisition cost, for the record, is not $5. With out-of-production products, we often pay higher prices too, in order to have the less-common stock.
The main complaint is that we won't replace the item, but really - we can't ship what we do not have! So we have done the best thing we can: offered a full refund including shipping.
I'll apologize again for the mistake we made in not packaging the item better. Our warehouse team is aware of it and we hope it will not happen again. But I think our response has been quite reasonable and hardly a reason for a boycott. An item arrived damaged, we were notified, and we agreed to refund the full amount of the purchase including shipping both ways.

I can appreciate the position of both sides, and giving a full refund including shipping is fair IMO.
However, something doesn't seem to add up. Why did the OP specifically quote toywiz as stating "it would cost too much", and why is the Renegades SS still listed for sale and "In Stock"?

Sorry, Yahoo stores is odd in that regard - it doesn't always update that availability field correctly, though it does have the correct inventory. So just underneath the "in stock" button, it does say "Sorry, we just sold the last one! Please check back soon, as we are trying to restock this item. Thank you!" and it won't allow you to put one in the cart because it "knows" we are at 0 inventory. At some point it will update again (it does this in cycles) and that field will change to "Out of Stock."
Of course, I can't speak to the statement that it's "too expensive" to replace it. Perhaps I'm missing part of the conversation, since I didn't speak to the customer directly. But in this case, it just wasn't an option we have available. There are no more in our warehouse.

Oh gosh, I'd not have drummed this up. I'd have just held a contest or a giveaway or something. That's way more my style to get attention!
But in answer to how I found it, I don't post on many forums, partly because I do work with a toy company and it seems to make things a bit complicated. I can't pretend I don't work for ToyWiz, but if people know I do, then everything I say can be construed as either an official opinion or an attempt to promote the company. So I keep quiet - it wouldn't be ethical to use someone else's forums to promote our store unless I had permission and approval to do it. But I've been a member here since July of last year, so I'm around from time to time, just not usually posting. In this matter though, I thought I should explain our side of the story because I felt it was handled to the very best of our ability.
As for who I am? I'm Bebs :) I do a variety of things at ToyWiz. If you get our newsletters, I make those. I'm usually the one answering questions on Facebook, among other stuff.
