I heard that the guy that plays Superman didn't want to do the JL movie... Also heard that Tom Wellington was asked and he said he would be up for it... Just what I heard though....

They had already started working on one around the time the writers strike happened. Unfortunately it looked pretty dismal casting wise.
According to IMDB, it's apparently moving back into production now.

I would like to see tom welling play an actual superman roll. 7 years of him being a GIANT PUSSY is just getting out of hand. I cant even watch smallville anymore because of the character they make him play.
If they do make a justice league i think he would be great in it.

DC is too second rate to pull it off. It's chessy characters would not work on the big screen

I think they COULD do one. The only obstacle IMO would be a story that could do the characters justice. It might also be a good idea to keep the roster small, like the first X-Men. Maybe even go with characters such as Green Arrow, Black Canary, Hal Jordan, etc. Popular? Definitely. But not as mainstream as say Supes or Batman.

Outside of Batman, I really have no interest in DC. The characters seem to have perfect lives. I love the fact that most Marvel characters are generally flawed in some way. Anyways, I can't see DC missing the boat on this one, especially with Marvel currently working on The Avengers. I doubt I would go see a Justice League movie though.

If they could pull off the major characters and not make it lame I think most of us would go see it. If they try to act smaller then
that it will not be well received. Marvel is already kicking butt with most of their releases, and will only continue to gain strength and popularity as they now have control over what gets made.

Last i heard, "if" it were to get made you most likely wouldn't be seeing Bale as Batman and Routh as Superman. "When" Superman gets re-booted and I'd say that it's a given.... and let's say they do reprise Routh, but don't use him for JL nor Bale that alone kinda kills it for me.
I'm not a fan of changing actors for iconic roles once a movie has "taken off" you could say, and has done well. UNLESS, a substantial amount of time has passed and we're now looking at something totally new. To me that actor becomes the character and i just don't see someone else in the same light.

Seconded. After a lifetime of reading Marvel, in the past 2-3 years I have drifted almost entirely to the DC side of the fence. The writing is better, the characters are more varied and three dimensional, and every book doesn't devolve into a Wolverine and/or Iron Man love fest.

My understanding was that this movie was going to be Motion capture/CG.

Well I think there are pleanty of rounded characters in Marvel I think in the last Ten or so years DC has become a lot more interesting then it used to be.
I think the Supergirl Identity graphic novel summed it up best, when Supergirl is essentially fighting the original silver-age version of herself.
The Silver Age Supergirl asks who wants a Supergirl like the modern one, who has all the same problems a real person has, who makes mistakes. They want a Supergirl who is happy all the time, who inspires people. Thats what peopel wanted in the 70s... but when the new supergirl beat the old one it's an acknowledgement that yes the new Supergirl is royaly screwed up, but that's okay. Cause she tries to deal with her problems and get better.
I really like Supergirl, it's a great book. It was a little confusing after "one year after" and took a while to find it's footing, but I think it's finally there.
