For god sakes, what is going on, i have seen so many diffrent pictures and movie poster with storm shadow in diffrent outfits, none of which look anything like the series 1 retaliation storm shadow figure, any one care to help me figure this out, ive googled the hell outta this and cant find a damn thing, it makes me wonder if the figures costume is even in retaliation. All i have seen are variations of the roc outfit.

His outfit looks pretty close to his ROC one to me, albeit with a slightly modified hood. As for the figures: None of them seem to be following their onscreen counterpart in design - SS in no exception.

It's too soon to tell, but I don't think most of the figures likenesses will be in the movie.

I agree. He looks similar to his appearance in RoC and the Retaliation figures in general don't look like they do in the movie.

That said, I picked up a set and they're pretty fun to play with. Oh yeah, and the movie looks bad ass too! I can not wait. Got to get tough, Yo Joe!

It seems like the more movie accurate figures are going to start with series 2.

His initial costume where he throws ninja stars at Snake Eyes looks like the ROC costume, the one where he takes a guard or soldier hostage is different, and the one on the newest poster is different, similar to ROC but simpler, more easily identifiable patterns, and grey.

I reckon we'll all be digging our R.O.C figures outta storage and finding a new love for them! It's a shame, I want loads of figures based on Retaliation!

Its makes no sense that the figure looks like he has half of a costume from the movie. The collar and parts of the arms look similar but they first two waves of toys dont seem to match the movie. The closet one so far is stormy with a hood and black camoish design

Does anyone have an concrete info or even speculation why Hasbro made a line of figures for a movie that look nothing like the actors costumes in the movie??? Makes no sense! If you want kids to buy them after getting excited after watching the movie make them at least resemble them! Hasbro really seems to have dropped the ball here in terms of reeling in new customers in this respect.

Roadblock and Snake Eyes from wave 2 are the only ones accurate so far.
Storm Shadow from wave 2 is the ROC version with the Resolute hood, but with the skirt attached higher on the torso. From what I remember, it was said that he would have rocker ankles, not sure if he will have hinged wrists(I imagine he would). It *MIGHT* be meant to represent Storm Shadow from the scene in the trailer where he fights Snake Eyes in a hall way, hence the reuse of the ROC mold.

The costume shown later, with grey panels, seems to be from later scenes in the movie after that scene.

The movie did get moved up 2 months ahead of schedule due to Star Trek getting pushed back. So I'm guessing Hasbro had limited reference material to work from in a shorter amount of time, and had to get the toys out by May instead of June/July(movie was originally scheduled by August).

I don't want Storm Shadow in those damn tennis shoes.

I'm not feeling too bad about it because this version of SS looks like Robert Atkin's IDW version of SS, and it's always nice to have a 'modern' SS as opposed to the 'classic' ninja SS is usually depicted as.

Although I do agree it's weird that SS looks like he's keeping his ROC costume, I chalk it up to Hasbro only having the concept art from early production to go off for building the figure.

After his fight with Snake Eyes in ROC Storm Shadow has bladder control problems. Thus his need to change his outfits through out the sequel.

There might be a secret spoiler costume change we haven't seen in the trailers yet. I mean, it's possible.

Or maybe Hasbro was just tired of the tennis shoes SS as well?

maybe the wave 2 Storm Shadow will appear in the movie when he joins the Joe team at the end

I understand that Lee Byung-hun is very popular in Asia, especially in his home country of South Korea, but do they really need to show so many scenes of him unmasked? It makes me wish that they had gotten another Asian actor who is lesser-known to play Storm Shadow instead. If Ray Park can go through the entire movie with his mask on, then Storm Shadow should, too.

Many people don't know that he is hosting an award show in the movie and thus has 13 costume changes throughout.

Storm Shadow is not exactly a character shrouded in mystery...
