Hi guys and gals! If this is old new I'm sorry, but I looked and didn't see it anywhere. Was looking at BBTS and found this:

Yay!! More Joes that I can't find.

Sweet! RnR looks good and I've had a long standing hatred of Battle Armor CC since he first showed up in the 80's but I think the 25th is softening me a bit cuz I actually kinda want him :) Torpedo rocks too! Now lets get a red repaint of him with white stripes and a white Cobra symbol :D

Yes, there should be, JB.... Pretty interesting to see that half of the 8-case ratio are repacks.

Either way, just ordered a set of 4 :D WOOT!

Now, will it be Commander or Fred under the helmet, or both (variant).

Yeah I'm a little saddened to see that the Major Bludd and Wild Bill that was in the Wal-mart computers along with these guys aren't in the picture, but I'm sure they'll get released at some point. :) As far as the date of January, I'm a bit skeptical of that. That would mean Hasbro's releasing 2 waves of single figures and a wave of comic packs in the same month!

I'm psyched about Rock n' Roll and Torpedo (I'm assuming that mask is removable, which would be really awesome), but I can't stand that stupid armored CC, and I've already got a pre-order for the black Snake Eyes with wave 5. . .oh, well. The good still outweighs the bad. Thanks Hasbro!

So Wave Six is going to include only Three new figures?

Not that I'm complaining, because that's three really great looking figures. The Armored Cobra Commander was my last favortine Joe figure before I decided I was too grown up to buy them anymore.

Torpedo
Rock & Roll
Red Ninja
Beach Head
Serpentor

Disappointed that there is another Snake-Eyes in this wave (same Snake-Eyes that's in wave 5 no less). I don't care so much but I am sure others are scratching there head as to why there are 2 Cobra Commanders and not two Red Ninjas........

But, Rock 'N Roll, Torpedo and armored Cobra Commander are all freaking awesome!!! Nice to see another figure from post '86 getting made, too.

The logic I'm banking on as well. We've already seen that there are revisions in the works for the newer waves. Though the Red Ninja getting a second shot isn't too bad...

Still, I wish they'd at least Paint Serpentor to match the card.

EDIT: CC's helmet certainly looks removable. The flippers on Torpedo are somewhat disappointing. Hard plastic 80's flippers that could easily be updated to soft vinyl slip-ons. But at least the ankles bend.

Why the hell does Rock'n'Roll have a German MG42? And here I thought Stalker's MP40 was stupid... now we have a new contender!

I think Hasbro has forogotten a lot of the original joes were Vietnam vets, not WWII vets; that would mean they'd be in their 90's by now.

I saw the same question asked at yojoe and someone posted info that it's actually a MG3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rheinmetall_MG3) which is still in use today. Also it looks like it's the same gun he came with originally in 1982

Well, saying it's an MG3 is rather subjective. Personally, I believe Hasbro obtained moulds for WWII weapons and doesn't have anything better to do with them.

After all, IF Hasbro made WWII figures, and a German came with this weapon, would anyone be saying "wait! That's actually an MG3!" Besides, according to Wiki, the US isn't actually a user of said weapon (though, in all honesty, I have seen it in news footage from Afganistan).

Besides, MG3 or MG42, where the hell did Stalker's weapon come from? Maybe he's a collector of old SMGs or something, ja?

Furthermore, the weapon Rock'n'Roll originally came with was an M60, used in Vietnam. I don't know how to hyperlink my text like that, so here's a straightforward link...

Yeah see, I still think we haven't seen the FULL Wave 6 line up. My gut says we'll see either Hasbro, BBTS, or someone else announce two more figures, probably a new Joe and COBRA troop builder.

A Techno-Viper would kick ass, besides a B.A.T. and IRON Grenadier, he's the COBRA army builder I want the most.

A 25A Croc Master would be nice too, maybe as part of a comic pack.

close up to CC in case everyone missed it: http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/images/products/out/large/HAS14343.jpg

so, on the case page they list Snake-Eyes as new ~ didn't the Wave 5 snake eyes have gold paint on his buckles? this one looks like he's 100% black.

Armoured CC to me is just another waste of a slot like Serpentor. we've already got 4 Cobra Commanders ~ Hoody and 3x Helmeted (although you gotta KNOW we'll be getting a Fred in a comic pack since they made the helmet removable) just seems like there are a LOT of more interesting guys they could have done (Major Bludd) before we need to see Armored CC.

my other beef with him (and Serpentor) is it really seems like they'd be HARD to reuse body parts for.

Torpedo's frickin' brilliant. Better than i even imagined (and one of my childhood favorite and earliest figures) Bring on the EELS remold!

Rock n' roll is about what i imagined ~ is that another Snake-Eyes legs/torso with Duke Sleeves? The Ammo belts rule, but i do believe he's gonna be needing one of http://www.marauderinc.com/catalog/webm60.jpg or more likely http://www.marauderinc.com/catalog/websaw.jpg

and as far as the missing Major Bludd and Wild Bill i'm gonna hypothasize we'll see more waves with less new figures and more of the older figures rotated in and out ~ this wave has NONE of the new wave 5 figures, it has carry-overs from Wave 3. hopefully this'll make it easier for everyone to get who they want :)

Anyway Rock n Roll looks awesome as well as Torpedo. Battle Armor CC ok......what's another CC. Snake Eyes....We haven't gotten enough of him. I think we should have about another 5 versions to keep the pegs warm for the variants. I am a little surprised that Wave 6 is coming out this soon.

Why is everyone hating on CC?

I think everyone is forgetting the main objective of Hasbro...to make $MONEY$

This is why we see tons of Snake-Eyes and Cobra Commanders, and why we see more versions of them than other figure.

Personally I love CC and can't get enough of him, and this Armored CC is going to be a great fig, because we might get a Fred version, a completely maskless version of CC, or the ol' mask-under-mask look. Either way, its a great figure, all of them.

I still want a Wild Bill and Bludd though, i hope they are in this line as well.

These figures look great, with Torpedo easily being my favorite. As others have said, it should be an simple repaint to get to an Eel.

To me the Armor CC doesn't seem as bad as the SE repaint. At least it is a different figure. It is similar to my feelings on Blade Destro. Yes it is the 4th (?) version of Destro, but it doesn't matter how many there are because the figure is amazing on its own. And with the removable helmet and metal detail I think Armor CC will also be a sweet figure on its own.

I have very mixed feeling on Rock n Roll. Until I see a larger picture I have to agree with this:
Rock'n'Roll's face looks like a yellow-haired Papa Smurf. Maybe it'll look different up close.

WOW! I can't believe we are seeing these so soon!! PEDO is brilliant! I loved armored CC as a kid & I'm loving this version too! RnR will be a nice addition...
Is that ACTUALLY a different Snake Eyes? Or is it just the black/copper one? I was assuming it was the black/copper one...
Now I know at the Con, Hasbro said that 25th Joes will be shipping through next year with the movie stuff filtering in at the end of 2008. I can't really see that happening. With Star Wars & Transformers it was NEVER that early for new movie figures even with the PRE-movie figures... I have a feeling will be seeing 25th Joes right up untill the first quarter of 2009...
And if they are the comeback brand like TF Classics was...maybe even longer as a subline (like TF Classics is becoming "Universe" along side TF Animated figures in 2008.)

That would be so awesome. I have always liked the Cobra water troops from the first miniseries more than the Eels. Rock 'n' Roll is pretty nice too. I've never been a huge fan of the Battle Armor CC, mostly because it was Fred in that costume for so long in the comics instead of the real CC. That figure is cool though.

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up everyone. I placed my pre-order. I'm loving the armored Commander. I know a lot of fans don't dig him that much, but he was always one of my favorites. Rock N' Roll and Torpedo look great, as well.

I don't mind the CC because he is somewhat of a new figure since it's such a different design. But Jesus, another frickin SE! Enough already! This is getting out of hand. You have over 500 figures to celebrate the 25 years and we get 6 SE's in less than a years time. Please Hasbro get a better variety. Seeing this just makes me sick knowing that the chance of getting Dusty, Leatherneck, Copperhead, Falcon etc are getting smaller every day. I'm pissed.

I agree. However I don't think people are really hating. I think they think of all the Cobra leaders who haven't been made yet and are like WTF? This is the 5th CC (6th if you count the carded box set chrome one) and still no sign of Mindbender, Bludd, Twins and correct Serpentor etc. Plus if you really want to get into it, where are the Vipers and B.A.T.'s?

also if you look at the larger armor CC pics, it almost looks like a beach head... er, head painted black underneath the helmet. or maybe firefly?

rock and roll... yes i agree he'll get a more modern weapon, most likely the SAW that marvin is carrying right now, and i'll give the mini-gun back to him with the belt feed ammo backpack. sweet!

torpedo will have fun hangin with shippy, exchanging liberty port stories. :D and yeah probably piloting the "not sharc".

I do too. I don't think he really counts as "another CC" because he is a separate character.

I may have been wrong about it being an MG3 (It's a little hard to tell). Regardless, an M60 *IS* a modern weapon, darn it all to heck! :)
<edit>Although, I will concede, it's not as "modern" as the M249 (SAW). :P

Yes, excellent wave. It will be even more excellent if they add Wild Bill and Major Bludd. :P

TOR-EFFING-PEDO!!!!! If his mask is removable, then I'll sh!t a kitten! Wow, and whoever mentioned repainting the mould RED to resemble the Cobra scuba gear from the ORIGINAL mini-series should be sought out and HIRED by HASBRO!!! While you're at it, how about BLACK & ORANGE for the JOES!!! I swear,I would buy 63 of them.

I wonder if the pics of wave 6 are painted prototype pics?

My reasoning for this is RnR's arms have the same mid-arm swivel joint as duke and flint, However, Breaker (Who has Duke arms) doesn't have this joint

Also Battle CC's hips look to be made like the prototype's hips we saw at Joecon (Kinda like how the shoulders are done, I forget the technical term right now)

Torpedo!!!

one of my all-time favorites!! now all i need is an Outback & a Tunnel Rat and i'm golden!!

another '82 Snake-Eyes???!! jesus....enough already with the SE's.

I second everything you said here.

I was WTF over the second run of Snake Eyes in back-to-back series, and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the idea of Torpedo in the 25th styling! Of course, I also love the idea of Rock 'n' Roll being done, but I didn't want to overdue the efusive praises for Wave 6 (or is it Wave 2, 2008?).

Guys What is with all the Cobra Commander hating?? This is the pivital mid 80's figure, I loved the idea behind his gear, the fact that now the Commander could get into the frontlines and have bullets flying off of him, sheesh, think about the sight of this guy coming at you as you unload a clip and he just keeps coming...Show some respect you better, cause I for one love this version And I hated the original, so I don't care for this one. It's a lame choice, but what can you do? Hopefully Bludd and some more troop builders will be included in the next wave, but I wouldn't expect to see any more pics of new characters until Toy Fair.

:D I really only spotted the Duke arm articulation myself, I read somewhere else about CC's hips but after looking at the pic I agreed with it

I do have to say that it looks like CC will be one of the few 25th figures to have full hip movement (So I guess I'll be able to fit him into a Pogo :p)

I have to say these are all sweet looking figures. I've always liked the Armored CC. Torpedo and Rock & Roll were some of my first figures too, great to see them in the 25th style. I wonder if this is a sign of less newer figures per case and more of a mix of already released? Which is fine, long as they are putting more waves out on a regular basis.

Someone said on another board, that at the Con, they were talking with a guy on the Hasbro Joe team and the guy said basicly that they(Hasbro), needs to find a way to get a Snake Eyes in every wave, because of his popular appeal to kids. After seeing the first 6 waves, I'm starting to believe that now. Don't be surprised for SE v2 all black poping up in wave 7, which he shoulda been from the begining.

i dunno, my biggest beef with this, beyond filling a slot that could have been a different character, is Armoured CC was up there with Serpentor on the 80s line jumping the shark ~ when the figures got so sci-fi/super-hero and neon and away from the more "grounded" (all things being relative:p) look of the early years of the line.

that said, i think from a purely aesthetic standpoint that the folks at Hasbro did a spectacular job in this recreation: i just wish the effort had gone into almost any other character. say, Scrap Iron

It does hurt to see so many desired figures passed over for a remake of a cheesy Cobra Commander. I specifically remember thinking that GI Joe bottomed out when this crap was released in '87. I hated him then and I hate buying him again now just to get Torpedo.

I think the big difference now is, we KNOW there are still good figures yet to be released, and I firmly believe we'll eventually see most of the ones we want. Hasbro is just parceling out the good ones slowly to keep the hook baited. They'll hold us all the way through '08.

I've probably spent $90 or so thus far. TRUMPETS PLEASE.....I JUST CANCELED $150 worth of preorders...mostly for stuff I don't want.

It was a good run guys. I made it through Wave 2. BBTS never shipped 3. No Firefly. I'll never own Doc or Buzzer's leader & bretheren. No CG. No Snow Job...etc. Why? Because for every 1 figure I want, I have to buy 4 that suck! There's not enough closet space in my condo to dedicate one to Snake Eyes!

By the end of '08 I'd probably be close to $500 in plastic? Don't get me wrong...I love these things! I just can't grab my ankles like this anymore!

I just bought 20 shares of HAS on the NYSE. Currently trading around $26...close to a 52 week low. Keep buying those figures men! I'll live vicariously through your posts. I mean it!

Best of luck!

"Grounded"?!

Since when was the 80's version of G.I. Joe ever grounded? There's always been a heavy level of sci-fi/fantasy elements in RAH, ever since it first began with the '82's selection of laser rifle troops and jet pack infantry. The variations in real and fictional concepts varied throughout the years but the RAH G.I. Joe line has always skirted with the type of espionage fantasy concepts that have been found in other spy/military media like James Bond and Mission Impossible.
Our generation's version of G.I. Joe has always been more Avengers, then the Dirty Dozen.

Besides COBRA has always been the more experimental-tech oriented side in the conflict which if you think about it was probably a smart move on Hasbro's part back in the 80's. Kids who wanted something closer to real world military toys played with the Joes while the ones who prefered more sci-fi and 'radical' designs gravitated towards COBRA.

Ya know you don't have to preorder whole waves right? dude, you focused in on the "Ground" (in qoutes mind you) and ignored the "all things being relative:p"

I know Joe's always had the fantasy element. Heck, i LIKE that ~ no problem with ninjas, mind control devices, etc. I just felt like there was a point when the suspension of disblief got a little too far gone, and the figures to far removed form their roots, and ACC here was highly indicative of that. there were good, even great figures after 86, just seems like thats were things started to go in a direction that eventually "killed" the line.

also, as an adult collector now I think i'm even more drawn now to the more realistic side of the fence. Even Zartan doesn't really appeal to me (now if tey did a comic pack with his parabolic compound bow, that might be another story...)

shockingly, i kind of feel the same way ~ i say shockingly becuase i LOOOOOOVED IG Destro when i was a kid (minus his goofy flying "thing"), but now, (again, like Armor CC) i think the figure is obviously well done, i'm just not finding it as appealing. That was always the appeal to G.I.JOE to me. I like SciFi stuff, I like Military stuff, so why not put them together. Now I agree after '86/'87 things got a little weird vehicles and figures, but there are some "gems" in there. A nice balance is all I'm saying. I think it also makes for a longer lasting interest too.

Dude V4 SE from the early 90s FTW. I might be in the minority in this one but that might be my favorite Snake Eyes costume ever. I despise neon for the most part on any military toys, but that Snake Eyes was cool. I wish he were in here rather than a carryover from wave 5.

After this wave, unless there is a significantly different SE, SE is not needed in future waves. A new sculpt or retool into Ninja Force Storm Shadow, v3, or v4 would be great, but carryovers should be done with after this wave. As hard as the joes are to find now, whenever they do sit on shelves, SE is the one taking up the most space now. If its like this now, it will be worse with carryovers.

Boy, this thread has GROWN since this morning!

As others have mentioned:

Please, no more Snake Eyes in either his earliest incarnation (25th style) or the armored face mask (25th style). If I never see another one of these versions released in future waves, it would be too soon. Sorry, I really am a diehard Snake Eyes fan.

Yes to Major Bludd, Spirit, Eels, and Snow Serpent!

Lastly, I hope this line doesn't end anytime soon, because I'm still enjoying the absolute H-E-C-K out of these!

I think it's been about 5 weeks since I saw any single carded Joes now. Absolutely unacceptable in my opinion. 2 months ago I thought we'd be knee-deep in Joes by this time.
