New sculpt nostalgia!
Storm Shadow is now some other ninja guy
Snake Eyes evokes his "heavy artillery" 2005 release (I like it)
Duke is now gray (great for the cartoon breaker customs)
Shipwreck is green
and both Cobra Commander and the Trooper sport comic-pack inspired colors.

Oh, and he has pics of that Kwinn guy, looking VERY complete

Green Snake Eyes looks really cool.
Creamsicle Storm Shadow isn't that great, but I'll probably end up getting him since he almost sorta looks like T'Ginzu.
Gray Duke is fine, but I don't know what I would use him for.
Blue CC is useless.
Green Shipwreck will make for a good army builder to go with green Duke.
Blue CObra Officer is a horrible disappointment to me. I just don't understand why Hasbro constantly puts out "comic colored" Cobra Troops. If they had made this guy the same color of blue as the 30th Cobra Soldier and gave him a silver sigil, I would have bought every one I saw. As it is, I don't know if I will get any.

Same as the first batch of 6, I want one of each for my MOC collection and then maybe some of the blue Officers but not sure with yellow gear.

The blue CC I could use for Crimson Guard Cadets with just a head/helmet swap! I have been doing this with the 25th comic pack CC just like this version and taking the head, cape and belt off and tossing CG (painted blue & black mask) heads/helmets and black CG belts on them to make my Cadets.

These repaints look like they are more intended for customizers and army builders than anything else.


Don't think Kwinn is getting this "dollar store" type release though, with Gyre's pics he posts, this Kwinn could be a store exclusive or in with wave 4 or 5 of the Retaliation single carded figs since he mixes SDCC, con, cancelled, etc. with regular protos and stuff.

I have a feeling these got dumped by some retailer and thats why they are heading to dollar stores like the friggen TONS of Avatar figuress I am finding right now as I hunt these down. I have a really bad feeling these will be hard to find and given these variants? I am only interested in the black troopers, black ccs, 1 blue/grey/black SE and 1 Black and WHite Storm shadow with a handful of Grunts in green. Dont need the rest and I am sure the ones i want will be the f'in rare variants....this is starting too look really bad again lol...I hope we get flooded with these everywhere, its the only hope I have left...

not talking about release times/dates, i am talking about when they had to be made to get that kind of date on the card. Had to been earlier in 2011 or the printing would say 2012 me thinks. My MiB3 figures all say 2012 on em. And all of my 30th anni figus say 2011 so they had to be last years product. Even the Noks/Maruaders packs from BBTS are 2011.

I really like that SE and the Duke. Even the Shipwreck looks pretty cool. I like the blak Cobra Trooper better than the repaint, and I still don't care for CC or SS.

The Kwinn looks cool. I might shoot for him, but I'm not 100% on him yet.

That Cobra Commander figure is about as close as we'll ever get to a perfect version of the hooded look I think. It's almost just like the cover to issue #33. It just needs a sigil on it's chest and some better detailing. These figures are practically like the unpainted customizer kits that I suggested months ago.

Oddly enough, it looks like the only discount figures that I'll be hunting for are the two Shipwrecks. That green one would be perfect for that other idea I mentioned a week or so ago, about packaging a generic Joe with a couple heads, helmets and webgear and selling them for $15 a pop.

They would have to be sold at a retailer first in order to be dumped. this is a great strategy, since not all families can afford $8 action figures. These are for dollar stores by design. By reducing accessories, making simple one for all packaging and existing molds they can sell low cost figures to a New and neglected demographic.

To me Kwinn looks very similar to Larry Hama and nothing like the comic (http://www.myuselessknowledge.com/joe/characters/kwinn.html). The figure's jaw is too pointed for Kwinn and the face a little too defined.

I'll still take 2 of him and be very thankful he ever got released.

These are awesome and didn't require a stupendous amount of new resourcing. We GIJoe fans can be pleased. It just takes the time to actually think about what would be great for everyone.

I'm going to buy at dozens of these Shipwrecks, Dukes, SEs, and Cobra Troopers. I don't like the stupid yellow webbing though. They could have made it a drab gray or tan. Still, Hasbro has to do something to steer clear of perfection. Still buying them, though.

I seriously cannot see how a discount "dollar" store will be able to carry Kwinn with the other 8 figs we have already seen (4+4 repaints). The other 8 figures come with only 1 weapon each and now we see Kwinn who will come with an uber set of weapons. I'm sure this dude will make it into our hands if Gyre is showing it off. But I don't think he'll be shipped with the 4+4 gang.

Wal-Mart has not been doing the Joe line any favors over the last few years. This is a rising market and Hasbro wants to get it's products into this market. It's a great way for fans and kids alike to get some really cool Joes at a true value price. 5.99 is way better than 6.97 at Fail-Mart or 10.99 at Target your wallet stores.

Night Force *ucking Green shirts! I can't wait to load up my night Rhino with a squad of these guys. I agree the blue CC is the weakest figure. The Officer can be fixed easy with either some paint or by switching the head with a 30th Cobra trooper. You could also switch his web gear with the 25th officer or the 25th SRO cobra officer.

Hey I feel your pain.I buy 10.99 figures as well. Sometimes we don't have a choice when the so called Big three are always out of stock or have little product on the shelf for months on end. I don't see these figures being more than eight dollars each. I'm thinking six or seven.

This repaints are realy ugly. This officer looks like a cheap knock off figure the same Cobra Commander - we get much better version in 25th comic pack with Trip Wire. From this repaints I get mayby Shipwreck, SE and mayby that grey Duke for customs

and why is the officer painted so oddly blue everything and red on his harness?? and for customizers those areas are the hardest to paint due to high scratching on the joints why would they do that to you?

I actually like the grey Duke. I can't stand the green/brown on the first one but this repaint I will get for sure. Not liking the SS repaint at all or the CC and trooper. I actually do like the SE though and Shipwreck just needs some webgear. He looks too plain and skinny without webgear.

Also, what is everyone's fascination with Kwinn? I just don't get it. I think he's one of the worst looking figures they ever came up with and the shorts just look really stupid to me. Thats just my opinion but I am just interested toi find out why so many people like Kwinn.

I am a little embarrassed to say it but, I have several discount dollar stores within a 20 mile radius and I have already went out to 2 stores looking for these. 100% true. The wave 3 alphas that were to be sold into Target were never in Target's possession nor did they ever hit a Target shelf. The Hiss Scout and Armor Cycle were sold at retail in Canada and never found a retail home in the US until Ross picked them up.

Secondly...are stores going to carry them...stores in my area have had peghooks for GI Joes since October, but no store in my area has had any GI Joes since October except Renegades Firefly or POC Arctic Destro or POC Desert Strike Duke...I check target, toys r us, and my 9 area Walmart stores twice a week just in case...no dice...HASBRO GET YOUR SHIT IN STORES...it doesn't sell sitting in the warehouse...and fyi; just about everyone has their fill of duke, snake eyes, CC and destro, make some of the other characters that we don't all have 10 to 50 of (I have approximately 50 S.E. since ARAH)...

No one knows for sure yet. The last time they sold directly to discount stores I know that Dollar General, Big Lots and TJ Maxx got them, so I would assume they will get them again, but that's just a guess.

who knows if they are discount store related i would say they start hitting the stated within the next 2 too 4 weeks closer to the release date of the movie figs,usually when stuff is found overseas its about two to four weeks before they are found in the states anyways

Do we even know for sure that we'll ever see these guys? The fellow selling them on ebay said that they were a promotional offer. That accounts for the card artwork. Has there been any confirmation that these will arrive here at all? That they won't be repackaged in The States as part of the Retalialtion line? Are we assuming Dollar Store outlets because of the cheap looking card backs?

I'll take these guys anyway I can get them.

General Hawk said he had a trustworthy source that said these are destined for stores like Dollar General/Family Dollar, et al, hence the generic artwork and limited amount of weapons/accessories. Recently, Dollar General has been getting Transformers RTS Legends on generic cards, and Marvel movie driver figures(limited articulation) on generic Marvel Universe cards, both made by Hasbro.

So we'll probably see these soon or not too long before Retaliation hits the main mass market stores.

Official Hasbro product aimed at discount stores like Big Lots , Family Dollar , Dollar General and the LIKE.

Price point is aimed at lower then retail. Hence "Discount Joes"

They are real Hasbro products that will show up in discount stores like Family Dollar, etc, hence the name. Not Kwinn or the BATs, though, Gyre just likes to show off all his cool stuff at once. :)

The Family Dollar by me does carry those Bizzaro Marvel Universe figures with limited articulation and low end Marvel movie merch. All Hasbro. I'll keep an eye out there and in Walgreens, who has been getting more Joes than any of my local Toys R Us stores.

I wouldn't expect to start showing up until June-ish if they are showing up now in the Philippines, and sightings may stay sporadic until the toy resets in August.
