GIJOE Movie Retaliation Wheel Blaster Bike with Firefly
Just some quick notes about the Wheel Blast Bike.... Firefly as we all know has the limited articulation, and was made to fit on the Wheel Blast Bike. The legs of the Retaliation Firefly have small peg holes on the lower leg that attach to small black pegs on the side of the Motorcycle. I am always interested in any Motorcycles that Hasbro does for the GIJOE Line and decided to grab this one early. The sculpt - design are great with the angry looking front end, sporting machine guns on both sides. This may not be for everybody but I hope.. from the footage we have seen of the exploding bike, that Hasbro goes back and does a collectors version, that has more of the Movie action, the break apart speeders from Star Wars come to mind.

The Articulation on this figure is made specifically for the Bike, so it's limited but fits the bike perfect and does not fall off, great for young kids. But the bike is awesome, I just like how aggressive it looks.

Sorry man, this isn't a "Hasbro's making toys for kids" issue. This is an insult to consumers.
Hasbro's cutting costs by making low quality products that don't meet the standards of the line. If they were thinking about the "KIDS", they wouldn't be trying to fool them into thinking that they're getting a quality product just to feel dissapointed once they take it out of that (horribly designed) package.

And I don't see Firefly there, I see more of a generic COBRA tech. I'll reserve judgment once I can look at one of them in-hand, but I can tell you there is zero chance I will be pre-ordering those.

The first thing I thought of when I saw this figure were the old cantina aliens from the Kenner vintage Star Wars days. The one's with the completely screen in accurate jumpsuits because at the time Kenner had no idea what the figures were actually wearing.

No rage or disappointment here. I just don't see a futuristic orange motorcycle fitting into my idea of Joe. Though maybe Sci-Fi would look cool on it...
As for the figure, I'll stick by my McDonalds diagnosis. This is not part of my GI Joe. I understand WHY, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I would have rather received the bike with a little more tooling than the waste of plastic that is that toy.

For all the complaints about the figure that comes with it, nobody has pointed out that as soon as the 'regular', fully articulated Firefly mounts the bike he looks like spindly crap.
If you buy this to 'display', the included figure is the best option as he has the right pose. If you buy it for kids then the figure will stay on better during play.
It's not as if we don't all already have umpteen versions of Firefly anyway.

I love the bike. The figure I don't care about BUT it DOES sit on the bike properly. Compare the 25th FF pic to the pic with this FF, he fits better, which for a lil kid is important. They don't want to have to "fight" to get their toys to do what they are supposed to do, in this case fit on the bike.
I'm glad so many people are saying they don't want it cause that increases my chances of actually finding a few on shelves.
My sideline prediction, we see loads of these customized by the very people who claim to hate them ;)

i get the whole idea that the limited articulation helps him fit pose better on the bike, but this whole limiting of articulation is just a crock. for cost savings? after collecting for so many years, i feel insulted that this is what the line is coming too. how about instead of reducing the articulation, maybe, dare i say, limiting the amount of figures released per calender year instead? like when the original line came out, we'd get 15-20 figures all year.this past year, 30+ single carded figures, again repaints as well. how about less repaints, and more focus on some actual characters and updates, minus the core characters. that'd be a cost cutting tool plus increase sales, in my opinion, quality over quantity. sorry if i robbed the thread. i do like the look of firefly, just hate his limitations.

Even as adults we buy on limited budgets. We prioritize by what we like and what we can afford and then we buy those things we want most. Children have an even more limited budget. Considering their budget and the playability of the toys it is an easy choice between a $10.00 regular retail figure or this $10.00 motorcycle...

This is worse than the original Joes! What a step back from the 80's! Never has Hasbro disrespected this toy line like this... Love a lot of the Retaliation figures and the Dollar Joes coming but these vehicle drivers are a disgrace!!!
If we dont want one, and dont buy one then that is what is killing the line and brand. Customers and the public arent buying this crap. There is a lack of quality involved from Hasbro which they normally do eventually to GI JOE, its like they start off descent and then fumble the ball and eventually discard it then return to it at a later point and repeat the process.
The bike looks Ok if it had a better paintjob and a half decent figure.

This shouldn't be under the main line branding, it should have a subline brand, especially if the retaliation single carded figures don't fit on the vehicle well.

If they were thinking about the "KIDS", they wouldn't be trying to fool them into thinking that they're getting a quality product just to feel dissapointed once they take it out of that (horribly designed) package.
There's nobody to fool. "Kids" don't have any automatic expectations about the G.I. Joe line because in general they've had little interest in the line for the past 5 years or so. They're not being "fooled" by anything. If they open up this motorcycle and get hours of enjoyment racing it around on the kitchen floor, then guess what? It's a quality product.
This product is perfectly on-par with other offerings that Hasbro has made across its' various movie lines. All we're seeing with Retaliation is Hasbro applying the "movie line formula" they've used with the Marvel films to G.I. Joe.

I love how you completely ignore that the majority of Retaliation figures have equal or better articulation than the 30th/POC offerings. If a kid gets into Joe because of the Dollar Store offerings, they'll find PLENTY to like with the mainline retail offerings. Unlike the multitude of butt-hurt fans in this thread, they don't have such a visceral sentimental attachment to the brand that they'll give a crap that a motorcycle rider is designed to ride a motorcycle and not attend Yoga classes afterwards.

That's not the way it works. Repaints, rehashes and kitbashes are part of how Hasbro recoups the costs of their molds. The line would be closer to 5-10 figures a year without them, if that. Hasbro makes most of its' molds with an eye towards reusing them. Not getting to reuse them hurts the line more than it helps it.

The asumption that kids will suddenly "get into Joe" based on some very banal repaints is absurd. The further assumpton that such kids would suddenly be "put off" when confronted by the myriad bright & eye catching figures & vehicles for the RETALIATION line is even more ridiculous.

The asumption that kids will suddenly "get into Joe" based on some very banal repaints is absurd. The further assumpton that such kids would suddenly be "put off" when confronted by the myriad bright & eye catching figures & vehicles for the RETALIATION line is even more ridiculous.
And common sense finally replaces hysteria in the thread........we dont even know what the "Dollar Joes" availability is going to be yet,so how the hell their effect on anything can be calculated is pure nonsense, and you forget cheap figures STILL need rides, further back someone argued a point about how they would rather pay $10 for a figure vs $10 for this less articulated figure+cycle,to a purchasing parent a figure with a motorcycle is still better value for money than a single figure almost regardless of the drivers articulation, most kids dont even care about a "brand" if it looks good, shoots stuff and can be zoomed across the floor kids will want it,regardless of it being Joe/Star Wars/Ben10 whatever. I love how people on here cant wait to rubbish whatever they dont personally approve of,if you dont like it thats fine, but really, 9 pages of the usual Hasblow/childhood raping/this is not GI Joe blahblahblah over A MOTORCYCLE TOY?? If you hate/disapprove of the company so much why put your hard earned money in their pocket?? And for all you "realists" out there, how is this ANY less believable/realistic than a motorcycle with a 30mm rotary cannon for a sidecar,or a quadbike with a double-ended missile on the footplate and a small artillery cannon mounted on the mudguard??

The figure itself looks sub-par at best, and dreadful at worst; but then again, I'm not buying it for the figure, I want the kick-ass bike. :D
