Seen before, yes. But, check HissTank's hands on pics with the production release that leaked out via Meijers recently.

One thing to note, as this is the first time I've handled any Retaliation figure, is that the plastic is much "cheaper" feeling than past Joe releases. Softer, can bend the limbs in the middle between joints a bit. Overall lighter weight.

Crappy ass repaint! I don't know why Hasbro bothers with hold to release date policy, only the big chain stores follow them.

Great figure. I won't be changing it.
Though I do wonder how the different plastic will affect customizing.

One other note - I could barely get the 25th stands to fit into the figure's peg holes. They seem to be a bit smaller than normal. I smooshed it down for the purposes of this shoot. May just be my particular figure, can't say for sure that all figs will have this problem. And since Hasbro isn't putting stands with them, it's not really a defect. BUT - personally, I would like the option of going and finding stands to match these figs so they work with the rest of my modern setup. Hopefully it isn't a trend with them all.

Otherwise, it's a really solid figure, looks good, and will work well with Renegades Storm Shadow in his vintage configuration.

I like that it's not an exact copy of the Renegades Storm Shadow. They changed enough details to make it have it's own look. And it's way better than that awful 25th version..

I may be putting that one-piece black belt and sash onto Storm Shadow though.

Aside from the high prices on individual figures, I don't like the fact these are a bit taller than previous lines. Assuming all the Retaliation toys are that height compared to 25th and 30th, we're looking a line that's too obscure.

How does the Red Ninja compare to the 2009 movie line?

Tread lightly, friend. I asked that very thing in the kmart thread and damn near lost my mind at the sincere, left-field stupidity i was met with.

I got everything from "hasbro doesnt want to have to fill millions of orders" to "The movie plot would be spoiled." Someone even went as far as to say that "stores dont like toys because theyre money makers" and that "BBTS and online retailers distribute gi joe product to brick and mortar stores for hasbro."

It was a saddest, funny thing ever.

I hope you keep that prejudice to toys. Cause I'm 6'2" and taller than a bunch of people I know and shorter than a handful I know too. It's such a shame the pressure we put on these poor little guys to be the same height as each other. Gonna give them complexes.

Twizzler ninja is indeed badass. Others will disagree but the articulation is better for posing and he holds all of ss's weapons better than Renny SS.

*rolls eyes*

If this entire line is (estimating here) 1/4" taller than every other Gi Joe line except... SGT. Savage and Gi Joe Extreme it's not going to fit in. If anything, it should be more in-scale with 2009's movie line. I don't have a problem with a single Gi Joe figure taller than the rest. I have a problem when an entire line is taller than what came before (2009 movie line, 25th, 30th, etc.).

Arrgh the peg hole shit mentioned is annoying to hear. I want my figures on stands...not falling down all the gd time like the MU figures I took off display becuase they wont stand up without their stands like the oens with thier stands doo...I guess I could get playdo to stand these guys in...or chewing gum? has to be a way to make them stand up....wish sideshow would produce 3 3/4 figure stands likes they do for thier 12inch figures...lamesness...plus the reduced articualtion on the other figures and the softer palstic cheapned paint apps...they are going a miracle mile to punish us for hating on Walmart so much now arent they...

Guys, if the peg holes are a bit small for your stands, just hold the feet under hot water for a few seconds and they should become soft enough to fit easily, then when they cool they will harden to the peg size. Simple fix.

I am wondering if the seven feet of zip line comes with a launcher that can shoot seven feet. :)

If I was going to buy only one figure this would be acceptable. But buying 20-30 figures? fuk dat they can come standard for their peg holes or not at all, pretty lame, dunno why this has to change, the figure formula has been spot on now for 4 years...who wants to stand down at a microwave all night heating water, holding figures in said hot water and then fighting with the peg holes for hours...I need to unbox and put in display...this cocnept is not quick...

Them movie Storm Shadow figure does not look like these ninjas, uses totally different parts, so thats ok for me. Only peeps this will bother will be the ones that insist on using the Renegades storm shadow as thier default.

Don't own a drill anymore, last one burned out, that will cost me 20 bucks plus the proper drill bit. No thanks. Again too much work for something that should come pre-made properly. Not affording hasbro any more leeway in thier crapieness and laziness they are inducing into this line. Hopefully like he said this is a singular anomoly but it has already deterred me from pre-ordering at this point till more details emerge.
