I couldn't find that in the Q and A are you positive its Friday?
That's what I want to know too. Can anybody find this info? I've looked at the Q and As and didn't see it.

Ugh, I do NOT like this Horrorshow figure at all. What a disappointment! It's too bad, because the rest of the OG team looks great.
Oh well, at least we've got a great o-ring version.

While I agree that Horrorshow would have looked better with tan pants, my son set me straight. He is 14 and watches the old cartoon regularly and reads the old comics. After searching the web, he is correct in that the sunbow cartoon had Horrorshow in green pants. With that said, his opinion on the set is:
He loves the Iron Grenadiers.. He was excited to have the Oktober Guard comming but he wants to know where the rest of his team are at. His exact words are "He doesnt ever play with the Red Star figure because he doesnt have the oktober guard".. and his opinion is that even with the box set he wont have the team because in the cartoons he NEEDS a pink Diana and should have a Wong. And by his comic books he Needs Dragonsky and Big Bear. Keep in mind, he is only 14 and while he loves GI Joe, he is no expert. Just sharing how a child looks at the set.
Since the Q/A's commented on an attendee figure... I hope its not one of those my son considers necessary because first off no-one would give up a key team member figure and if they did I am sure it would cost a small fortune. The perfect free figure would be a repainted Red Star because its not necessary unless you are a completist.

I like the Horrorshow - maybe because he's wearing a short skirt????
I've seen a lot better customs on this site, but oh well.
Not the least bit concerned about the weapons, as I have a ton of painted/weathered Dragunovs, RPGs, and PPSh's laying around.

What an unbelievably depressing ending to the reveals. Seriously.
My exact same thoughts.
I can't believe the unnecessary mix-up of Shadow Tracker upper legs with Reso Roadblock lowers, they don't even match. And what's that skirt? It coud have been skipped all along.
The rest is pure win, and i hate the IGs, and don't care for the October. But it is a really awesome pack, i would get it if possible.

Normally I can accept lackluster figures but when asked to pay this kind of money for them I except something that isn't, well total pieces of shit.

I just realized that he has pads for his thighs right above his knee pads but they don't line up. They just disappear lol. I find it funny that people defend the club so much when they put out a crappy product. Don't get me wrong, I have loved a lot of the stuff the Club does. Yes I understand they have limited resources. However when I pay 20-25 bucks per figure I expect it to look like a production piece, not some Frankenstein that people are happy to get simply because of the name on the stand. ” But Hasbro would never make it so this is the only way to get him!” I get that but like I said I just expected more. If Hasbro had actually put this figure out at retail for 8-10 bucks the bitching about ”Hasblow” would never end. But since it's the club people will like it simply because they're finally getting that figure. But like I said most people seem to only care that we are getting the character and not on how the actual character looks. Examples- Horror Show and Voltar

You nailed it dude. I'm a completist and I'm struggling to get excited about some of this stuff. I just went to Toys R Us tonight and bought a NECA E.T. figure for $12.99, and yes it is a mass produced figure, but NECA is a WAY smaller company than Hasbro, probably closer in size to Fun Pub and I wouldn't be surprised if they only made a 3-7000 of each of these figures because I don't know of any stores asides from TRU that carries their stuff, but let me tell you guys this figure is a thing of beauty, incredible sculpt, amazing paint apps, fully articulated, nice packaging, several accessories, and this is for $12.99 AND I'm sure on top of everything else they had to pay for the licensing rights for E.T.
So, no I don't expect the club to churn out all newly sculpted masterpieces for $8 a figure, but I think it's only reasonable to think they could AT LEAST provide us with one newly tooled figure (or at least the crucial parts of the figure, in this case torso, arms, and head) out of the 15 figures in a set that costs as much as some people's monthly mortgage payment. This crap and Voltar are unacceptable with the amount of money this stuff costs, I could understand them not wanting to take the financial risk back in 2002, but they've been making these sets for a decade now, I think they know it's gonna be a success, time for them to start investing in their own product.

I'm not a huge fan of this Horror Show, but certainly you can see a difference between 3000-7000 figures versus 600.
Also, I think your 3000-7000 number is probably low. There are like 900 TRUs in the country, and I'm guessing each one has gotten at least ten ETs in, and that's not counting the online retailers that are all carrying it.
And on top of all that, Neca runs most of their molds into the ground, so they are probably getting more like 40,000 figures out of each mold.

Oh for sure, I'm just making the comparison that if something of that level of quality can be produced and sold for $12.99, then even at 1/10th the production run for $20-25 a figure, for a toy half the size, the club should be able to give us SOMETHING more than what they have been.

Very possibly, I'm just making a guesstimate based on that there were only 3 of each version in the store, so even if every TRU did 3 restocks that would still put the total number at 8,100 but I honestly have no idea.

I'm not an expert on this kind of stuff, but I don't think that you can assume that 1,000 figures at $25 works out the same as 10,000 figures at $12

Keep in mind that both the ETs share the same buck, so that's six uses at your one TRU right there, so even if every TRU only gets one case in you're looking at 5,000+ ETs.
My guess is that if the club wanted to make a newly tooled figure and make fewer then 1,000 figures that it would cost upwards of $50. Think about those third party Transformers. They sell stuff that is the size of a $15 TF for like $100.

wow I stand corrected they did go ahead and make Horrorshow only thing is that he does kinda suck be lets face it I know people have been going on that theres been better customs of him on the tank and true but how many of those customs are complete re sculpts ?
Like I said the club doesn't do total retools (head cast are one thing ) but how many times has the club created a completely new figure from scratch ?
btw any notice that HS also look like Tom Sellec again tho this time his current age ;P

Last years set many complained about Claymore, Sparta, and even De Aco. Because lets face it the reveals looked really bad and the pictures did no justic to the actual figure in hand. I think once people see these figures and actually get there hands on the figure that is when we will truly know how nice the figure is or is not. I see Horror Show and I like him, he looks pretty good. But I was hoping to get a more comic book accurate look to him. I will say this I am excited to go to this years con And I look forward to getting the set in hand to see for myself how the figures look.

I'm still disappointed in Horrorshow, but it's really the only bad figure in an otherwise great set. Too bad he's a fan favourite. :)

I agree, if Aly or Raginspoon offered a coat, it would do wonders for this figure -assuming that crazy "skirt" is removable. It would do well to have newly cast legs in a khaki or brown too.

I like Horrorshow, I am glad that he looks bigger than the other OG in the set. Cuz we know if he was the same size as all the others, people would have complained that he should be bigger than the other figures and so on. I do wish he had tan pants but I can live with the green color. I dont know what is up with the skirt looking thing. I will judge it better when i get my sets in my hand. But for the most part he doesnt look bad. Now we just wait for registration.

The best coat that they could have used in my opinion id the 30th/POC Iron Grenadiers Flak Vest. They could have just painted it the same green. It is what I intend on using if it meshes with the arms and shoulder pads.
Here is the Jacket that just may be the saving grace in my opinion. It will also give Horrorshow that bulk:

Also, I noticed the other day that the club stated in their Q&A that we will be getting a figure as the free convention attendee item with the purchase of a boxed set. Looks like it will not be a vehicle. Here is the Q&A stating that:
"Question: Is there a limit to number of home front hero packages you can purchase? If I attend the show, can I purchase an american heroes set, and also order home front hero set?
Answer: We reserve the right to limit all quantities. If you order a non-attending package, you will not receive the free attendee figure with that set. To get this item, you must pick it up at the show. You cannot do an attending and non-attending order at the same time. You will have to process two different registrations if you decide to go this route. Limits of souvenirs are based on attendees."

I wonder on the attendee exclusives this year. There is no parachute drop figure. That is $20 per figure that the club would have easily gotten back.
The free bonus attendee item with the boxed set purchase is not a vehicle but a figure per the Club's Q&A.
Most likely, there will be extra Footloose figures to buy at $25 each.
Will their be both a 2-Pack and a 3-Pack?
Will we get a vehicle at all?
-Of interesting note, Brian did state a few years ago at the convention that had the Iron Anvils that he wanted to get us a Condor in Iron Grenadiers colors. Will that be the vehicle?

They could have used a softgoods coat - although that might have been more expensive than a molded jacket! (Hasbro has MULTIPLE soft goods coats that would have worked from various lines in the past.)
As for a Joe jacket, what about Lowlight's jacket? It seems pretty bulky. Or Arctic Destro's coat? Or 2010 Spirit Iron Knife? Or PoC Beachhead? The best might even be RoC Desert Ambush Duke.
All of these work better than the combo we got!

I know it's impossible. And whether the molds exist or not, (as you pointed out it's very unlikely) the club would never attempt to tackle a vehicle that large in today's market.
They did the Moray a long time ago but since them all the vehicles have been alpha or bravo sized.

Nothing would bring me more than the fan outcry if the club sold each 1/2 of the condor separately limiting 1 half to 500 pieces and the other to 200.

Wow, the last few days have been such a let down, at least for the Oktober Guard figures go. I get what they are trying to do but I don't think the execution of the part selection any justice to the spirit of the set. I guess we should look at the Iron Bear figure first. If they needed a General, the body construction would have been better to use the ROC Destro construction, it screamed field marshal general. At this point, it would be easier to just swap heads with Col. Brekhov. With that in mind, then Col Brekhov could be equiped with the comic pack web gear and you have an artic gear version of the character.
What a mess that is Horror Show. I do like the head sculpt, but that's all there is to the figure. As Starfighter has pointed out, the POC Iron Grenadier vest looks closer to what Horror Show would have come with. But then you loose the long coat effect. On the other hand they could have used the POC Snow Job coat piece and put on the HD harness backpack , I do believe it would wrap around the coat. You have the long coat, but the figure would not look right. Idealy it would have better to make a new coat just for this figure and with them holding off and saving him for last led me to believe that this was the case. The more tooling involved, the bigger the reveal, just like they did with Big Boa. I do like the arms. The legs however... what the hell were they thinking? If they wanted the night adder hight, they should just used the whole leg. Or at least used the top part and lower parts and just swap out different knees like from the Renegades line. To me it seemed they saved the worst figure for last this year to reveal.
I guess what I am saying is that Hisstank customizers could have cobled together better part selection than this set. I for one will be looking for these head sculpts to hit the comuinty resine repo casters for the interesting parts and make my own set.

Could I expect to see some dealers at the con selling PTE stuff? It would be nice to get that IFV at the same time I get the OG figures.
Maybe. Hasbro is cracking down hard on unlicensed toys sold on the convention floor. I don't know what if any licensing agreements PTE has with the different companies that make the vehicles their toys are based on, but it could be that they are unlicensed. I think Hasbro might take umbrage at the Moray-ish boat and the Cobra Night Landing boat, but I can't think of anything else that really steps on their licensing.

Every time I read another nit pick against Horrorshow, or that General Iron Bear is too young, or they didn't use the right jacket for Colonel Brekhov, it just makes me that much happier. No offense to those who are dissatisfied, but keep it coming. It means I'm that much closer to getting a Homefront Heroes package so thank you.

That's really weird that they took it down. Heck, I thought it was weird that they put it up in the first place since they told me on Facebook they weren't going to show him off yesterday, and then a half hour later they showed him off.

I have read all of the Q&A's I cannot find where it says this as someone pointed it out and stated so on this thread.
Here they are all of them to date, perhaps I am skipping the question but I do not see it:
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
5-14-12
Question: If I want to register another club member with my registration, how do I get club pricing for them?
Answer: Because of all of the changes, you will now need to know the email account for their login AND their password. Otherwise, the system is going to give you non-member pricing for them. If you choose to process with the non-member pricing, we will NOT be able to adjust the price for you and refund the difference. We strongly recommend that all members do their own registration.
In addition, please remember that your membership only covers member pricing for your spouse, parent, child or sibling.
Question: I have a child under the age of four that wants to go to the convention with me. Would I have to buy an Aide's package for him?
Answer: No... but the Saturday dinner event is not appropriate for children in that age range.
Question: During the official G.I. Joe Retaliation screening on Friday morning, will other activities occur like a parachute drop or exclusive selling?
Answer: No. Nothing other than the club store.
Question: What is the casino night all about?
Answer: It's a buffet dinner, costume contest, casino games with an auction at the end using the points you won during the evening.
Question: I am planning to buy the AH Package with one Aide. However I wanted to know prior to ordering if there is a general admission charge for the casino night if I add a friend?
Answer: The Aide package includes the dinner event. You must have a General, American Hero Aide or GT options to attend this event.
Question: Is the Homefront Hero package for non-attending members a bagged set or the full boxed set?
Answer: Non-attending packages are the same as attending packages with box set but not the free attendee item in terms of content. The ability to purchase a loose set is one per boxed set as long as supply lasts.
Question: I am a GIJCC member and interested in the Homefront Hero Package. Just to clarify, do I need to be physically present at the convention in order to qualify for this purchase, or can I order the package to have it shipped to my home?
Answer: If you plan to come to the show you order the American Hero package. The Homefront Hero Package is the NON-ATTENDING package which means you DON'T come to the show. You would pay for shipping which is figured at checkout for this set and it will ship 3-4 weeks after the show.
Question: I'd like to buy 2 box sets and 2 bagged sets (under the same name). If I purchase a Golden Ticket, will it cost an additional $300 or $600 (due to the 2 sets)? Also, are the limits on exclusives based per PERSON, or per BOX SET?
Answer: Souvenirs are limited by person, not boxed set. So, if you wanted two sets, you would sign up for a GT package and a regular package. You will only get the one GT name badge. Unless you have someone else coming with you, there would be no reason to purchase 2 GT packages as it isn't going to do anything extra for you. So your souvenir limits would be the triple offered under the GT plan. The extra package would not have any souvenir rights.
Question: I plan to buy the non-attending Homefront Hero Package from this years convention. I am just wondering if the price is the same for an international purchase and what the shipping would be (approximately)?
Answer: Shipping is actual price calculated at registration. Price of the set is the same for attending or non-attending.
Question: Is there a limit to number of home front hero packages you can purchase? If I attend the show, can I purchase an american heroes set, and also order home front hero set?
Answer: We reserve the right to limit all quantities. If you order a non-attending package, you will not receive the free attendee figure with that set. To get this item, you must pick it up at the show. You cannot do an attending and non-attending order at the same time. You will have to process two different registrations if you decide to go this route. Limits of souvenirs are based on attendees.
Question: I'm going to register my wife for a second attendee convention set and wanted to know if that qualifies her to purchase one of each souvenirs as well?
Answer: If she has an American Hero or General's package she has the same rights to purchase the souvenirs. However, Aides cannot purchase souvenirs until Saturday.
Question: In the past if you did a homefront hero package the shipping was free. Is this still the case, or not any more?
Answer: We use an online registration system now. Shipping is actual cost and calculated at the time of ordering.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5-12-12
Question: How long do we have to register and order non-attending sets?
Answer: Until they run out or we close registration on June 11th.
Question: I might not have the money for the 2nd bagged set and wanted to know if I can add it later?
Answer: Yes... but we may sell out and there may be an admin charge.
Question: Can a non-attending member purchase the T-shirt to be be shipped with their Home front package?
Answer: Yes. Hats and shirts can be ordered with the non-attending sets.
Question: I will be purchasing an American Hero package for the convention and need to know what time will package pickup be on Thursday?
Answer: It will start around 6pm.
Question: If we want a bagged set with our American Hero order, will we have the option of buying it at the show or does it have to be paid for at time of registration?
Answer: The bagged loose set can be ordered with your registration for either the American Hero or the Home Front Hero package. It is possible for these to sell out before the show.
Question: If I register for the con set package, will I need to pay additional to have my son with me at the various events?
Answer: Yes. He would need an Aide package as no one other than registered guests with badges are allowed in on Thursday/Friday or early on Sunday. Also you would want him at the Dinner event on Saturday and the Aide package covers this. It is for family members coming with you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5-10-12
Question: I was wondering if this year's set and the possible extra figures will be up in the club store after GIJoeCon 2012?
Answer: There will be a limited number of non-attending packages available when registration goes live.
Question: This year I want to bring my wife and sign her up to get the boxed set and a bagged set. Does she have to be a GIJCC member, because currently - only I am a club member?
Answer: No, she is covered under your membership.
Question: I wanted to know if you will have a G.I. Joe Film Fest this year as I plan to submit a film for the contest?
Answer: We have not announced any convention details. If we have the film fest, you would be limited to 5-6 minutes. Details coming in the future.

Hello all!
The brochure for this year's convention is now online! Please use this weekend to read the brochure, ask questions via the link on the bottom of the page at GIJoeCon.com and read the FAQs, before you register online.
Registration will be turned on at the first of next week. Please take your time and understand what you are registering for as changes could incur an admin charge. I will send out an email when registration goes live.
If you want to register for non-attending packages you use the same online system, just indicate that you are not attending. There will be more attending packages available than non-attending in the beginning. If we think the assortment is heavy one way or the other, we will move product between the two choices.
DO NOT REGISTER FOR AN ATTENDING PACKAGE IF YOU ARE NOT COMING. PACKAGES ARE ONLY CONVERTIBLE AT OUR DISCRETION AND MAY BE CANCELLED IF YOU TRY TO CONVERT. ONLY ADMIN CAN CONVERT YOUR PACKAGE.
You can also pre-order convention T-Shirts and Hats at the same time.
In addition, we reserve the right to limit quantities. We hope to see all of you there for G.I. Joe Con 2012!
See you in NOLA!

Registration will not be online today. We are in the middle of a server migration that we must have installed before we start registration. If the website is offline off and on, please don't worry.
Just a few notes. When the server comes back up, we will be loading a package matrix so that you can better understand what feature goes with each package.
In addition, when we start registration, it will only be for attending packages, a few days later we will start with the non-attending packages. We need to ensure that everyone who wants to come to the show can get a package.

Thanks for letting us know. I hope that you get your fig. You should get next year's too in my opinion as they messed up. Today would only make sense as they put up all of the reveals yesterday (both 4-inch and 12-inch) all in one day.
Also, I really hope that they do not screw over the central standard time people and put the registration up at 5 or 6 pm CST. After all, the Club and the Con are both based in the CST. They should put it up around noon PST so that everyone gets a chance at a golden ticket and not making it a disadvantage to the CST and EST members.

People drive home from work during that time. If they offer it then, there is more of a chance that they might miss out on the Golden Ticket or the sets selling out all together. The Club did state that there also might not be any Homefront Heroes Packages if they sell out of the Convention Registration Packages for those that are going. There are only a total of 600 Boxed sets this year as well as only 325 bagged sets. That is a total of 925 sets total. They may just sell out before the con with the movie being this year..

Between 7am-6pm Monday-Friday is the norm for business working hours in the USA. That is why the club should do it at a time when everyone is able to register right away. They can do this by either doing it at night or during the day anywhere from 11-3 in most cases so that everyone has a chance in my opinion.

True, it has never been like that in the past, but you really never know. With the movie coming out as well with the anticipation and of the unknown if it will sell out, you have to be prepared. I hope that it does not sell out before the con so that those that do not get to go have a better chance to get a Homefront Heroes set. Don't forget that Horrorshow looks like he's wearing a skirt, General Iron Bear looks like a much maligned Hasbro executive who is much too young to be a Russian General, and all the Iron Grenadiers have a goofy yellow tint. I think it's a great box for us 'old skool' ARAH fans, but does it have the weight that Mission Brazil II had? Are the IG's going to be as desirable as the Python Patrol? Is this set as good as last years?
I think the film coming out is also going to have an effect. Lots of new figs hitting the shelves in smaller runs than RoC - and they're a damn sight nicer than the RoC ones... plus the Sub - are people going to go for both, or choose one over the other?
Don't get me wrong - as soon as they become available I'll be ordering my box and my loose set - but I think the club has a bit more on the ball this year.

Yes there are 100 more total sets, but it is a movie year. There were only 500 Boxed sets last year along with 325 Bagged sets. 825 Total.
This year, there are 600 Boxed sets along with 325 Bagged sets. 925 Total.

This is pretty much where I stand too. The fact that there are seven new heads in the box set is really impressive to me, and it helps ease the disappointment in how Horror Show's body turned out. Daina, Schrage, and Stormavic are all pretty much perfect IMO, the long coat IG is probably my favorite IG ever, Brekhov and Voltar are both really cool, even though they aren't perfect updates, and the other two IGs are cool also.
This is turning out to be my favorite box set ever.

I'm not complaining. Just trying to prepare. Unfortunately, since the club's shipping costs are pulled out of their nether regions, I won't know exactly how much to expect.
Yeah, their shipping costs always seemed high to me as well. Granted, I'm in Canada, but still. It's not THAT much to send stuff here (especially the damn newsletter).

Good points, and no, you're probably right. I don't think the figures in this set aren't nearly as "essential" as the ones from last year.

Here is today's e-mail"
Hello all!
Registration will NOT be online today. We are still finishing our server upgrade that must be done before registration starts.
If you have friends that are planning to register as members, they will need an active membership. You can paste this link so that they can sign up with the club. You cannot process a membership at the same time as your registration as these are two completely different systems. Go here to sign up for a new membership.
An additional reminder- if you are registering another member when you are registering yourself, you must have their login and password. DO NOT CONTINUE with non-member pricing if you are supposed to be receiving member pricing as we cannot make price adjustments after the fact.
To answer some of your questions, there will be a first day period for attending registrations and a first day period for the non-attending registrations. You will both be able to get the first day pin even though your registrations will be on different "first" days.
We hope to see all of you there for G.I. Joe Con 2012!
See you in NOLA!

What I'm worried about is that the allocation for non-attending is minuscule and separate from the overall supply. That is, I'm afraid it might be possible for them to sell out the non-attending sets and still have tons of attending sets available.
The sets previously took forever to sell out, it's true, but that was because it was available a long period of time ahead of the con, so people felt they could wait. That's not true this year because the Club took so long to offer registration.
And I suspect a lot of those people who waited were prospective attendees who were firming up their plans to go to the con. I think the non-attendees usually already know they're not going.

Theres usually a non attendee package where you can buy the boxed set, however theres still some items you can't get unless you actually attend. I would suggest going if you have the opportunity, they came to Kansas City a couple years ago, and the attendee exclusives were members from the Argen 7, and there was a 12" crimson parchute doll. Plus I still like my crimson viper set. If you don't go you can still buy the box set, but you may have to shop ebay to get the other exclusives!

The non-attendee Boxed Sets and Bagged Sets will be available on their website after the attendee sets are sold. If you are not attending, do not purchase during this time or your order will be voided and you will most likely not get the set if you are not there to pick it up. These will most likely sell out and it is pony wasting your time Everyone can purchase a set and a bagged set while supplies last. If you are a non-member, you will be charged extra, thus making you a member and you will also get next year's (2013) Club Figure. It is possible that the non-attendee sets are sold out depending on the number of people attending the convention. Their are only 600 Boxed sets, so if 500 attendees buy their set, that only leaves 100 for the non-attendees. That is doubtful that the attendee sets will sell out, but it greatly reduces the non-attendee sets. There are 325 bagged sets too, but in order to get them, you have to buy a boxed set.

There is not a parachute figure this year at all per the club. The club did state that there is in fact a free attendee figure for those attending instead of the free vehicle that you usually get when purchasing a boxed set. Only he dealers, volunteers (I believe) & the members that purchased a boxed set will get that free figure.
As for the attendee exclusives:
- 2-Pack or 3-Pack
-Possible mid size vehicle with a figure.
-Possible large vehicle (Perhaps, the Condor in I.G. colors as Brian really wanted that last time with the Iron Anvils set.)
-Footloose on card is a rumor
You never know what they will do, they could do a 4-Pack or 5-Pack even though they have never done it in the past.

Don't rely on them being available on the website. Unless they suck, they will sellout at the show.
For everyone, there is a designated period for when the non-attendees can purchase the Boxed sets. This will secure your set while supplies last (depending on if the attendees sell out).
In regards to the attendee exclusive. Roshan is right, you will have to be there in NOLA or know a friend who is going to get you the set. Even then, they may not get it for you as they will most likely sell out before Saturday. It is best to either pay the money to go to Joe Con if you are relatively close (within 10-12 hours drive) or just buy them off Ebay or the forums for 3-4 times the Club's price. In other words, if you are going to buy them online, with the money you spend on the extra exclusives, you could have most likely driven and stayed in a motel/hotel for the same extra price hikes and still had the chance to purchase the extras.
In terms of my comment about paying so much extra, I am not condoning scalping (Is this really scalping when it is an attendee only exclusive and those that went want to recoup their money back?), but it is just the facts from every year past that the Modern Era stuff came out (2009 & 2011). They command a high price.

You are in the middle of the country. You are on average the closer to all of the cons year in and year out compared to the rest of the country. It is only 670-690 miles for you to drive straight south. It should only take about 10.5 to 12 hours to drive and cost about $200 dollars to drive round-trip in total. You could always stay at a cheaper motel/hotel on the outskirts of NOLA or if you had to, sleep in your vehicle. With that $200, it will easily cost that and then some if you wanted the attendee exclusives. You might as well have a fun time with the amount that you would have to pay more for online. A lot of people are paying much more than that for air and fuel costs. Just make it a vacation if you can.

I know, we are only 42 days until the convention starts and they do not even have the registration up. They say it is because of a server migration. However, my friend whom is an I.T. guy stated that Server migrations are planned. They don't just happen sporadically like a Windows Update. Planning a server change on registration week is the stupidest thing you can do. When my friend has to do ANY system change, even one he thinks will be minor, he plans extra time for problems. He once had an update that should have taken 10 minutes, and his system ended up being down for 4 hours.

However, my friend whom is an I.T. guy stated that Server migrations are planned. They don't just happen sporadically like a Windows Update. Planning a server change on registration week is the stupidest thing you can do.
Your friend is absolutely right. There's something else going on behind the scenes that they'd rather us not know about. They've been working on various "bugs" for close to 6 months now (or more). Maybe someday they'll figure out that it's easier in the long run to pay a professional to do web development rather than promise Cousin Joebob a case of Natty Ice if he could only figure out how to get the ordering page up... or maybe patch that SQL injection vulnerability. http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i116/hellion42/smilies/drum.gif

That is what I thought. My best friend in this hobby made it seem as it is very poorly planned.

I would not mind that body if it had a new head sculpt of Gen. Mayhem on it.
Also, yesterday the Club said that registration could be either yesterday by 5 p.m. CST or in the a.m. If that is the case, they would have until 1:59 p.m. CST today to make it make it the last minute for a.m. in the continental USA. Otherwise, it is just the same old thing with delays, excuses and vague time-frames for the Club as usual. I guess it is another day just waiting by the CPU today. Hopefully we get to register earlier so that we can get on with our days while working and checking the internet every 10 minutes on another screen.

I would say the same thing about the Club's continued excuses about the monthly magazine beign delayed. As someone who works in the print industry, I'm skeptical that it's a printing problem. It's much more likely that the Club is missing its copy deadlines, either on purpose or by accident. But you never know. The Club sure has had its share of headaches lately.
Is it time to register yet?

I wonder if they are behind on their payments or something? A delay in the monthly magazine yet again too for the 3rd straight month as you stated.
As far as registering when asked by another Facebook person, he asked the Club "Will registration ever open?" and the Club replied with this about 45 minutes ago' "Yes it will. We hate the delay as well."
What is with the delays and bugs. If they implemented a new system, there should not be any bugs. Why can they not just give us a straight answer and tell us when it will happen without inferring that it "may", Might" "soon" "any day now" "should & "could" vague and cryptic answers. It is as if they forgotten that they said yesterday via Facebook that "If it does not happen by 5 p.m. CST, then it should happen in the a.m." Well, that window is closing yet again with no real answer. It is frustrating as they said the "First of the Week" when referring to registration last Friday. Yet, a week later and having us all anticipating registering, we have waited an entire week. Perhaps, they had meant the first of next week. It is also as if they have forget what they respond every time. Like they really do not care. Maybe, they just like playing games with us, the paying customers, with their slow reveals and waiting games? Everyone can see through their delay tactics.

Well, it's not like this is the first time for this kind of silliness. Remember the Subscription Service? They strung everyone along for many months saying things like it will happen soon, very soon and, my favorite for several months in a row, "by the time you read this." And we're still waiting. At least we got to see photos of the fancy shipping box they had designed. lol.
I guess it will happen when it happens and not a second sooner.

This year just seems like a cheaper cost effective filler compared to the last few years. They have already cancelled one of the attendee exclusives being the Parachute Drop Figure that always sells out at $20 a pop for the Club. Most likely, we will have a Carded Footloose figure to buy, but most of the Club members already have that figure.
However, the vehicle(s) may be very cool as long as the vehicle is not an Indiana Jones or Star Wars repaint. Knowing the completists in me, I will get all of the attendee exclusivss though. Destro, will most likely not be one of them.

all it says is the following when asked about the screening of the movie. I don't think that means no Para drop figure I think it just means it will happen at a different time. I notice the last time they posted FAQ was the 15th and it is know the 18th so maybe we will get new ones posted to see for sure if it is moved to a different day or time or if it is canceled.
Question: During the official G.I. Joe Retaliation screening on Friday morning, will other activities occur like a parachute drop or exclusive selling?

Question: In the past if you did a homefront hero package the shipping was free. Is this still the case, or not any more?
Answer: We use an online registration system now. Shipping is actual cost and calculated at the time of ordering.
Wasn't registration online last year too? Why does an online registration system suddenly require shipping costs?
Why can't they just say "our costs have gone up and we need to charge shipping now"? The constant evasions about rising prices makes them seem like chiselers.

I just used that out of frustration as they implied that registration SHOULD be up by the end of last week. Then, they said that is WOULD be up First part of the week last Friday. Lastly, they said it COULD be up yesterday by 5 p.m. CST or in the A.M. Now, I bet they say maybe next week if all goes well or something to that effect. It is just tiring refreshing everyday for the past week and a half every 30 minutes or so while at work doing reports.
After all, many of us are members. Communication has always been one of the biggest complaints with the club by a lot of their members, and no matter how many times someone brings that point up, nothing ever changes. The club staff feels NO obligation to give it's members clear information in a timely manner. They make excuses and play the blame game but, at the end of the day, they're the ones choosing not to communicate effectively. In my opinion, what they SHOULD have said last Friday was:
"We plan on getting the registrations up sometime next week. Unfortunately, we have an unavoidable server upgrade that needs to happen. This is something that is difficult to plan around."
THEN, the club should have sent out emails by Noon Central time on a daily basis informing members that the reg wouldn't be up that day. Instead, they waited till damn near 5 central time so that we all had to refresh and sit by the CPU waiting.

Well, when you are doing stuff like server upgrades and implementing new checkout systems, a lot of the time you think you are close tto done, and then new problems pop up. I don't think they are intentionally being obtuse with their wording. I think they don't actually know when they will get registration up, and every time they've said it was coming, they actually thought that it was.

The website was put up 2 months ago when they asked all of us to double check our e-mails and to see if our info was correct. They have been working on this for weeks if not months. I really wish that they would just pay the fees and use Paypal.

Same as usual, the waiting game.
I'm wondering if this will turn out to be the Figure Subscription fiasco all over again. We'll keep getting emails saying that registration "should be up" by the end of the week. No, now it's next week, or the week after... oops, too late, we had another credit card theft and we're going to close up shop again.
I hope not, there are only 41 days left until the actual convention starts. Rooms are starting to be booked full and most do not want to book a room until they know that they are registers. Airline tickets will also get more expensive too if you had waited.

Bad communication is when they imply vaguely that something will happen but make us wait around for it all day and have it not. They should update us in the middle of the day with a firm answer and not at the end of the business their day in my opinion.
I don't even know why I am frustrated, I shouldn't be? I just want to get this over with and have everything ready to go as soon as possible so that it does not linger or drag out. Yes, I do count down the days until kickoff for the Oklahoma Sooners and college football to start also. We have 106 days left if anyone was wondering. I have been away for about an hour and a half. It looks like the same old thing.
They better release something soon so that the east coasters whom get off within the next hour do not have to sit and wait. Just imagine if they put it up in an hour while many east coasters are driving home? They could lose out on registering for a golden ticket or even getting an extra bagged set if there are more than 325 people registering today before they get home[doubtful]. The club said that it would be today if all goes well -or was that should or could be today?
Just think. the longer they delay, it hurts them and leaves more people upset with them. All of the people asking on Facebook are ignored, but the Club answers other questions. I know that they must be sick of it so you know that they know that we want to know. They could easily resolve that with a firm acknowledgement in an e-mail to all of the members at once early in the day, not at the end of the day. It costs nothing to do so.
As for being a member, many along with myself feel as if we are more considered as a subscriber than a member. A subscriber pays in advance or in installments to receive something throughout the year. We have no voice but do get surveys and discounts on their other products. I don't consider my subscription to Sports Illustrated as being a member for example. A member has a voice and helps decide as a majority on what is going on. There is a sense of community in being a member and you are heard.

Before anyone states that they are not a professional organization, they are at least a 300-500 (possibly more) hundred thousand dollar company year in and year out before taxes. I hope that the $30,000 before taxes from the Golden ticket alone and the markups on all of their products this year gives us a better relationship and more bang for our buck next year. It is us, the subscribers -I mean members without a voice that help keep the company running (it is actually the convention sets and attendee exclusives that keep it running). You would think that they would have better, timely and efficient communication at least. That is all most are asking for even through all of the problems.
Update on Facebook: They did listen to the few that did not like the Adventure Team Shirt. So at least they are listening to that feedback. If they would have given the "members a choice on the different attire that Horrorshow had for the jacket/skirt/torso, it would have been a community vote/poll that many can live with. Now, many are looking for ways to replace that look. You know that the Club has to send off different sample looks to get approved on, why not include the members to help make the choices of the final samples for example. What a great idea to help build the membership and make them feel like they are part of something.

I liked the Adventure Team shirt the way it was. Is there a link to the revised version?

Just a reminder, all of your information given to the Club for membership/purchases should be considered stolen and sold off from the hacking. That includes your email address signed up with, your phone number in your account, and your name + address your items were shipped to. All of this besides your CC info and password were taken.
Club members have been getting increased spam and phishing phone calls for months now thanks to all the info being taken.
Yep. I joined after that fiasco, so I'm not getting any of that garbage.

Oh definitely. The problem is, my number listed with them is my MAIN cell number and my main email address (to my own domain, which I own) and I'm looking for jobs currently. So it's an extra pain in the ass and something I can't afford to switch at the moment due to having my contact info out there for people with job offers by which to contact me. The problem is, the fuckers that bought the stolen info are the sleaziest of sorts, so I'm getting hit from all angles. Closing out the card did very little as far as protecting the rest of my contact information. And I'm not moving for awhile, so the address is another huge issue.
I'm beyond pissed at the club and their massive display of dumbfuckery that never seems to end. They may squeeze out an awesome product every once in awhile (Footloose, some of the 2011 JoeCon exclusives) but dealing with them is a test of patience at the very least.

I would have spent all of my money on other Joe toys by then. I still need more sideshow figures. I wish they had a subscription service every month for a year for about $50 less than they currently are.
